GameCube DOL-001 vs DOL-101

Units built after May 2004 Nintendo removed some features to cut costs. (citation) These units were marked on the bottom as DOL-101. The DOL-101 also locked down the system more to prevent ActionReplay and mod chips (at least until hackers found workarounds).

Is it worth making new entries for this variation?

The only DOL-101's that I've seen have been Platinum. I'm not sure if there were 101 made in anything else but that color. Has anyone else spotted a non-silver/platinum DOL-101?

I do believe Nintendo made black DOL-101 models, though I've only seen pictures online. I haven't seen a black DOL-101 in person, mine is a platinum.

People make entries for specific models for other consoles, why not this one?

Yeah, I saw PS2 had a lot of variations.

I wanted to see if anyone had seen them in other colors before I began making anything. For now I'd create the Platinum 101.

If this entry that's already up for a platinum GameCube is for a DOL-001, maybe somebody should edit the entry to say somewhere what model it is to prevent confusion with the new entry.
