I was going through the old posts in this thread and saw how bad that Rayman image is, ha. It looks like they still have this old image on the site (probably leftover from their site overhaul):
http://psmedia.playstation.com/is/image/psmedia/e32011-game-5535-packfront?$WaysToBuy_Packart$
It's located at the bottom of the page for this store page:
http://www.playstation.com/en-us/games/rayman-origins-ps3but I agree with what Foxhack did. I use those images as well from their official product page, even if they are really shitty and inconsistent. The same thing happens when I go through the Nintendo eShop, and Sony also did a revamp of their website store a while back that made some images better and many WAY worse.
But I also agree that we should not be using the physical box artwork for digital titles. I have a mix of both physical and digital items, stuff that is on PS1 and Steam, and I don't want it to look like I have dupes. It's misleading for people who might search by the title and see the first box artwork item and say "That's the one I have" without looking at the platform designation.
Especially when I have a special collector's edition or something, I like having the artwork be accurate. Just because someone owns a digital copy of the same game doesn't mean they can just use whichever boxart they like for their entry.
Anyway!
haha sorry for the rant... TL; DR: I agree with Foxhack.
