It wouldnt have deterred the resellers. They would just have started their auctions at $2000 instead.

Agreed. IMO, they should have said "OK, we're taking preorders on this worldwide the weekend of the event only. After that we'll close preorders, make enough to cover those and that will be it." That would have given everyone who really wanted one an opportunity to get one while still making the console limited in the grand scheme of things.

But oh well. My black PS4 works just as well I suppose. I'll just hold out for a cool-looking faceplate (not really interested in the 2 they put up for sale this past weekend) and move on.

I actually didn't care for the look myself, but I was trying to get one to maybe surprise the bf.

Not really a fan of the console design, but I'd most certainly buy one of the controllers if they put it up for sale.
