You're right but it's a combination of quality + small print run, or just quality alone that dictates the price.
Yeah I agree with you! That's what I said in response to your first message
But I think there absolutely are games that are just rare and are still expensive.
"I don't think it's that simple though. Games are expensive only because supply does not meet demand. This can be because the game is rare, it's actually a good game, or both."
I think there's a bellcurve that gravitates towards good quality games being more expensive with higher demand. Rather than low quality games having high demand the only crap games that are expensive that I can think of would be action 52, or some of the atari porn
games. I don't think a bellcurve is the right graph for what you're saying... I think you mean a gradual sloping graph. - As games become more expensive, the quality increases (or vise versa). And rarity affects the price positively or negatively.
If we want to go with graphs, I think of it as a really sporadic graph with a lot of peaks and valleys. Price is continuous across the X axis, and the Y axis is represented by "quality".
So, the more expensive games (on one end of the axis) have peaks and valleys - good games (like Suiko II) and bad games (like Action 52). The cheap games also have peaks and valleys too, with good games (Ace Combat 04) and bad games (FFXIII).
And these peaks and valleys would change depending on the person and their tastes. I listed the good/bad games above based on my opinion, and so my graph would look different than someone who thought AC04 was a bad game, for example.
Also come on dude lol, tomba is 2d or 2.5d if you want to be exact as most of the saturn 2.5d games are. But just say 2d.
And yeah you're right tron bonne is expensive but is it as expensive as its other 2d mega man counter parts on the playstationI think it's debatable, certainly. I consider Tomba! to be a 3D game that moves in 2D space. So to me it's 3D (models, environments, etc.), but it's 2D in the way it's presented. Silent Hill is a game that's 3D but the controls are 2D/ tank like unless you change them. Also, I could be totally ignorant, but I don't know of any 2D Mega Man game on the PS that's more expensive than Tronne Bonne or MML2
Theres tall chinese basket ball players in the NBA, we still consider the chinese short. So yeah maybe a few 3d games hold value on playstation but in comparison to 2d it's peanuts.Isn't that the definition of a stereotype?
Also, I think a lot of 3D games on the PlayStation hold value. It's all based on opinion.
Ugh, maybe if you would like to PM me we can discuss this more without clogging up the thread. I'd hate to distract from the topic at hand
