The reviews are all looking great, it would be 9's across the board instead of 8's if the game weren't kid-friendly and had a serious tone to it.

**** Arcade Sushi whatever the hell that is, their opinion is wrong. Unless they determine every sequel ever to be nothing new because so much about Garden Warfare 2 is new.

Most of the time, I try to pay little or no attention to "professional reviewers."  Many of them tend to throw objectivity out of the window and just as many if not more seem like paid shills, giving high ratings to games that just so happen to advertise on their site or magazines.

Me personally, I love the original Plants vs. Zombies games.  I was stoked when I heard about Garden Warfare, then subsequently bummed when there was no announcement of a PS4 version.  I perked up and bought it as soon as it was released on the PS4 and was quite pleasantly surprised not only by how fun the game is, but by the fact that it was priced under $40 and the DLC was released for free.  Till this day, I can get online with it and there are matches that I drop right into.  No waiting because so many people are still playing it.

So it was a no-brainer when PVZ Garden Warfare 2 was announced that I would be getting it.  The trailer with "Highway to the Danger Zone" made the wait even more agonizing as it was funny as hell.  And even though EA has jacked the price up to the standard $60, there is enough content there to warrant the price and if what I have been hearing is to believed, DLC will be dropped for free the same as the first game.

I read the review and it said that Gnome Bomb is a new mode. No it's not. I wish I could e-mail the guy, he had the nerve to write "I played this game so you don't have to." Ugh it irks me so much that half the review is about the single player campaign and that he said there's not enough game modes but Splatoon was one of his favorite games of last year wtf.

The only reason I'm paying attention to it is because pretty much every review on Metacritic is 8 or higher except for his which is the only yellow/mixed score. Garden Warfare 2 is doing great things for gaming by having a ton of content day one and no paid DLC so it's upsetting to see it get an undeserved low score.

Anyway, yeah, I have no idea how many hours I've spent in the first Garden Warfare game but with the Mechanic class alone I've spent 300 hours so probably over 1000 hours total hahaha.

The new launch trailer released today might be even better than the Danger Zone trailer: https://youtu.be/Hv7t_zFUDBk

It's good to hear that's it mostly a much better game with the sequel.  Kinda tempted to get it, but the only real shooter I'm interested in this year is Overwatch and I need to save a few bucks since I'm kinda blowing a bunch of money on Zelda stuff next month.

You should. It's great and probably better than Overwatch.

You and I are on the opposite ends on that.  I couldn't really care any less about Overwatch but have been anticipating the release of Garden Warfare 2.  I've always loved the aesthetics of PvZ.  The design, the music, everything.  The first Garden Warfare blew me away with how much fun it is.  To me, Overwatch looks like just another generic team shooter.  The character designs don't stand out for me and looking at side-by-side screenshots, I don't think I could tell it apart from Battleborn or any of the other multitudes of MOBA/shooters flooding the market if they didn't put a game logo on the screenshot.

Not trying to insult your taste in gaming whatsoever kamikazekeeg, just pointing out my perception of the two titles.   8)

Oh sure, PVZ stands out cause it's cartoony and you play as Plants and Zombies, but I think Overwatch does the same in its own way.  It's basically like Team Fortress 2 with crazy scifi characters.  I've already played some of the beta, it's fantastic, but it's also not out till like June, so I might look at Garden Warfare 2 till then since I haven't really played a multiplayer shooter in awhile.

The game is amazing!!!!

My youngest daughter and I are digging it.  Though, I think the rose plant is unbalanced.  Those little shits just flutter in and devastate everything.   >:(

Yeah they buffed her too much after the beta but they've said that they're working on a new patch that will nerf her and other additions.

I needed something new to play that wasn't serious, but could help relieve some stress, so I bought the game just now.  Helped that it can be bought for 12 bucks off at Green Man Gaming right now. Seemed like a better choice than waiting around to find out if The Division was going to be dull or just alright lol

It's not bad.  I've done like an hour of online play and I think I'm through most of the Plants singleplayer quests unless a bunch more open up the 4th or 5th batch.  Some of the new characters are fun, and the singleplayer/multiplayer world map lobby setup is neat.  Not really blown away by anything and I'm unsure of a few characters (Imp is so hard without his mech suit and Rose seems really strong for a character that shouldn't be getting up in peoples faces).  I'll probably spend this week playing it, putting some good time in.  Not sure how long it'll last, but I'm going to at least beat all the singleplayer stuff since it doesn't take too long.

The people using the Rose just seem to obliterate everyone else.  Definitely needs to be tweaked/nerfed a bit.  As for the Imp, he has a very small amount of health and dies quite easily.  His guns are pretty powerful and I've found going kamikaze  into a group of plants and using his special where he spins circles can rack up some points, especially if you have a couple of the heavy hitters like the Quarterback going in with you.

I really like that PopCap gave players from the first game all kinds of bonuses and automatically unlocked any character variations you had earned/unlocked in the first game.  The 200,000+ free coins and sticker packs were great too.  I personally jumped straight into Team Vanquish and have primarily stayed there.

I liked the turf war mode a lot more.  It helps to bring the action into focus more and is a lot more exciting I think.

*EDIT*
That Rose nerf can't come fast enough.  I can't believe they released such a broken character on launch lol I think a big nerf that makes sense would be that she loses some health, she loses some of her homing ability, and her attacks are semi-auto instead of automatic.  I'm sure more could happen, but man she is so ridiculous.
