I see. Additional info: it seems that he created the 2nd entry as the first already had a different barcode, but the barcode belonged to the Italian version. Now the main entry has the correct barcode which makes his entry a dupe.

That wasn't a wrong barcode, but the Italian version of it. Ive placed a picture of it in a thread, but can't find the thread atm.

Mastafafik who is admin now placed that version. So you have to ask him which version he has, the Italian, or the UK version.

So you changed a italian version to UK, thats not nice. There can also be Spanish, German, etc versions around, and they all can be added, with the correct data afcourse .

Edit:
Why where those changes approved? If someone does put in a barcode, it looks like he knows whats he doing, and a change to that shouldn't be approved that easy.

are re-releases with the same barcode eligible for an own entry? if so, does this still apply if the re-release is identical (in artwork etc.) to the original release?

edit: error. but the question above remains

I understand what you are saying and didn't want to cause trouble, but the thing is it is highly doubtful that there were 7 owners of the Italian version and you were the only one owning the general European version (on an American/English-spoken website). I guess that the people who added this version to the collection were not aware that this was supposed to be an Italian version of the game.

edit: just to clarify again, this is not the [UK] version, but a general [EU] version as stated above.

edit 2: "doubtful"

edit 3: typo  ::)

I call it UK version but it can also be called EU version.

That the Italian version has 7 collectors is more that there was just one version in the database, and they didn't bother to add their version. I did because i always have the game in hand when adding it to my collection. And i don't change a game if which has most (importend for identifying a game) fields filled.

You can call it [UK] version, but that doesn't make it right. That one http://ogdb.eu/index.php?section=game&gameid=58790 is the UK version.

We are talking about the official and general PEGI [EU] version here. And like I said, chances are low the 7 people are owning the Italian version.

But if you insist, undo my changes and I will use your database entry instead and edit it to [EU], if you agree.

And like I said, chances are low the 7 people are owning the Italian version.

I read your messages but still can't understand what happen about those two Binary Domain. It was two different version of the game ? in this case that was fine i guess, i added a LOT of French version in the database without any problems. Or it was the same version ? I'm sorry i don't understand, and what's an official and general PEGI EU version of a game? Are there Unofficial PEGI version ? I'm just asking here, just trying to understand what happened, like i said i add a lot of french version on the database (and still have hundreds of them to come, once re-install my scanner), actually some of them are the only version existing in their respectively category and i don't really want them to be considered as duplicate once someone add another version in the database.

So i won't comment on that since i still don't really understand but i can comment on that quote i made, you are certainly right, the chance are low that on the seven people who own that particular entry all of them own that specific Italian version but it's just that most users doesn't CARE (seriously  >:() about what they add in their collection, i would even say that most users doesn't even care if they have any data or even a picture for their item, so if any users made an effort to add data for their entry i would favor them instead of any users who doesn't care about the database or their own collection (even if the data incomplete, e.g.: a barcode without any back cover, if can't find the respectively back cover with that barcode then i don't touch it), so if on the 7 users who own that entry maybe 3 of them really have that particular version, fine by me, that would only mean that the others 4 users didn't care enough to add their own version (or check what version they added) so why should we care about them instead of the one who made that entry or those who really have that version ? (I'm maybe a bit too harsh here, i probably didn't choose the right words to say it in English but that's basically what i think, just a bit less harsh ;), and like always sorry for my poor English  ;D).

When I've created that entry, I made a mistake with the barcode. Sorry.  The correct one is for the general EU version.

Even if chances are low that a few people are owning Italian, French, whatever version you can't change those filled data fields to your own version. Make a new entry with all the data of the version which you have.
