Blue is mispelled in the branding, therefore a lot of people mistakenly spell it Blue-Ray, because that's how the word would be spelled in proper English.

...why is this so confusing for you?

The company chose the name to be Blu-ray, it wasn't a typo, they didn't misspell anything.

Go put "blu" in any text to speech program, go ask any English major, they will tell you it is pronounced the same as "blue", just because you don't recognize something as a word doesn't mean it needs to be spelled differently.

I don't think you understand how "proper" English works.  It's a language.  You make words using language.  Using specific letters in a specific order, you make a word, it is spelled and pronounced as such.  I can for instance type flinglenard.  I can say it means a person who ignorantly misspells words.  It's not in a dictionary, but I made up the word, I chose its spelling, I infer its pronunciation, therefore it is spelled as such.  Just as a company chose the word Blu-ray to name their product.

I mean, this argument is entirely stupid.  You can't say a word is misspelled just because you want it spelled like a different word.

Quit being a flinglenard.

No. Blu is not a word. It is a branded name. You will not find Blu in a dictionary. But that wasn't what I said anyway. I said it's understandable that people misspelled it because the proper English word isn't spelled that way.

It is is silly argument. It's silly that you had to point out everyone in the thread that misspelled it to begin with and be grammar police. I was just pointing out that it's completely understandable for them to misspell it. But apparently, it's not understandable to you for whatever reason.

Let's direct the thread back on topic.  This argument has unnecessarily escalated far enough.

Did someone mention bluetooth?

Nintendo collectors be crazy. Not only do they collect the good games, but I think more collectors do complete collections for Nintendo consoles than anything else, and seeing that everything came in a cardboard box, the values of complete games are satanic and I think it has an impact on loose prices.

I know Nintendo has much more nostalgia with me.  If I had the money, I'd be focusing on N64 and SNES collections myself, though now it's mostly just new stuff and whatever I can get Zelda wise since I don't have the kind of money to afford proper collections.  No matter how many sketchy sections Nintendo manages to go through, they still have some pretty good games.  Already brought it up abit in the SNES vs Genesis thread, but I find that going back to Nintendo games turns out better generally than like Sega.  Not for every system mind you, I know my favorite system, the N64, had a few rough games, but at the time, I know the PS1 did too.  Luckily most of my favorites still hold up great.
