Mario or Zelda?
« on: April 26, 2016, 10:08:04 pm »
If you had to do away with all Mario games or all Legend of Zelda games forever and never play them again. Which would you keep and which would you get rid of?  This Includes games like Hyrule Warriors.  Games that have both characters such as smash bros will still remain but the character you chose to get rid of will not be playable in the game.

I would keep Mario. 2D platformers are my favourite genre, and Mario is my favourite series so, yeah... :P

Mario has a lot more games, but I think I'll keep Zelda.  I just prefer open world exploration more.  If Mario had kept that up after Sunshine and 64, I might consider saying otherwise lol

Mario as well. I've never been able to fully beat a Zelda game, for me it get boring very fast. But Mario games (Platformers) have a near infinite re-playability.

Keep Mario. I was never a fan of Zelda series since I was born 1988 and was more into platform genre as a kid/growing up.

I would keep mario for the simple fact that mario games are much more fun for multiple players. even the ones that don't have a true 2-player system are great multiplayer games because you can just toss the remote and say "you try". zelda games don't really work that way, although I love them as well.

plus mario games get more wear from me after beating them.. once i beat a zelda game it will be years before i play it again (if ever).

I'm going to go with Zelda, just because Ocarina of Time is significantly more fun than any Mario game I've ever played. And that is saying a ton.

Mario ofcourse

One of my favourite series so many great games so much nostalgia but also gameplay wise outstanding. especially the adventure 3d games. mario 64 sunshine galaxy etc. But also the older 2D titles I enjoy.

Zelda games are good but to be honest I've never been a real zelda fan. I never understand the zelda hype by many, I have to say though that the collectibles are really nice but gameplay wise I'll give the win to mario. The zelda games are excellent though I've enjoyed twilight princess, ocarina of time, skyward sword, windwaker and even hyrule warriors so far, the games are definitly enjoyable.

I really like the cast in skyward sword compared to the other zelda games I don't get why that game gets so much hate. Zelda is way better in this game than any other zelda game.

I will miss ganon in smash though one of my favourite characters to play in smash to disrepect bad and good players. So many awesome thing a ganon can do in for glory when one has mastered the triforce of power :p

The cast and story is pretty great in Skyward Sword.  The problem it has is they basically removed much of the overworld, Skyloft isn't that interesting of a place, Fi is ridiculously annoying (Especially after we had the best companion with Midna), and of course the motion controls.  I beat Skyward Sword, but I never once loved playing with those controls.  I'd love for them to HD port it to the NX like with Twilight Princess, removing the motion controls, though I don't think they could lol

Keep Mario, nix Zelda. Aside from Link's Awakening on the cinderblock Game Boy, I'm not a Zelda fan.

Both. They're both completely different series, yet both complete masterpieces in their own right. I wouldn't give-up either.

Mario. Mario has spawned so many good things, and I've never really found anything to like with Zelda. Plenty of other RPGs have served me well without Zelda.
