Top 5 games shown at E3 2016
« on: June 17, 2016, 11:03:31 am »
What are your top 5 games that were shown at E3 this year? Doesn't have to necessarily be a new announcement, but even something that was announced a while back, but was at least showcased in one form or another at E3. Here is mine:

1. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
2. Horizon: Zero Dawn
3. Nier Automata
4. Pokemon Sun and Moon
5. Quake Champions

Honorable Mentions: King of Fighters XIV, Last Guardian, Shantae Half-Genie Hero, Bloodstained Ritual of the Night, Yooka Laylee

I don't know if this really deserves a new topic, but I'll bite.

In no particular order

1. Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
2. Days Gone
3. Agents of Mayhem
4. Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands
5. Watch_Dogs 2

Apparently 3rd person action games are my thing this E3.

Honorable Mentions: God of War going Norse and Forza Horizon 3 going to Australia.

Why not? I know there is the E3 omnibus thread which seemed like a catch all thread, but this one is very focused. I genuinely want to see what other people's opinions on this were without it being lost in the chatter.

Nothing will have me rushing to the store on release day, but I am interested in hearing more about that 3DS RPG. Oasis Something-or-Other? I can't recall the title.

Ever Oasis :)  Reminded me of Zelda and Monster Hunter at the same time... Not bad things!

Currently playing:
FFXIV (PC), The Witcher (PC), Monster Hunter World: Iceborne (PS4)

Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - A Name... we have a NAME!  That's a lot to take as the new direction for modern Zelda
The Last Guardian - The big Bird Doggy, strong bonds beyond species!  it gives me the feels deep down!!
God of War - This is looking progressive from what I've heard about God of War, it looks like it's matured in a way that I can respect
Resident Evil VII - Sephiroth Strikes Back - Now that's how you promote VR! not to mention Capcom returning to form for RE, I'm not even a Survival horror person
Shantae 1/2 Genie Hero - I like that zoom-in on Shantae's basic animation at the start of the trailer, you won't miss the pixel art, it looks better than ever.  Also, cool! A retail version

Honourable Mentions? let's see:
Just hearing the FF XV rendition of the Chocobo theme made me happy, look at that PS VR 'play as Prompto' like it's ruddy Amiibo support or something.
Crash Bandicoot Remastered Yes, Crash is Back!  The Skylanders thing... whatever, they were gonna put Crash in Skylanders at some point anyway, let's just get it over with.  Now just give the fans what they actually want.  Don't screw it up Activision / Vicarious Visions

Yes finally someone mentioned Detriot. :)

Overall I was honestly underwhelmed.

My list:

1) Detriot: Become Human (surprise, but seriously best video game trailer ever next to Dead Island)
2) Zelda because dammit I've waited this long.
3) Last Guardian (see Zelda comment)
4) FIFA, what can I say the addition of an actual story arc and character progression has me intrigued.
5) nothing really
