Tough to say.  I like different ones for different reasons.  Halo because I use to LAN party the first three with friends all the time.  I remember with our game settings, we'd have like hours long matches on Sidewinder and Blood Gulch with CTF.  It's an amazing LAN party experience.

I love post-apocalyptic shooters, which would include the STALKER series, the modern Fallout games, and the Metro series.  Seclusion, survival, it's just a setting I almost always find interesting.

I then enjoy online multiplayer shooters, which includes Team Fortress 2, Overwatch, and Battlefield games.

This might be the hardest genre for me to pick a favorite out of lol

I would  probably go with unreal tournament 99.  Played it all the time. Used to have all the time in the world back then. Not any more. Now I have "responsibilities" :'(

Metroid: Prime on GameCube. I still enjoy the 2D entries of the series more, but Metroid: Prime was the reason I finally got a GameCube. The same sense of isolation and exploration-driven gameplay is there and the graphics were absolutely stunning for the time.

For those that don't consider Metroid: Prime a true FPS I'd say Halo 2 is my 2nd choice. I LOVED the sci-fi storyline in that game. The story was just epic. And I loved seeing the story from both the perspectives of Master Chief and The Arbitur. And it just built on everything from the first game: Better graphics, more epic soundtrack, more weapons, more vehicles, and as I already mentioned: two playable characters this time.

Mine would be very close between BioShock Infinite and Metroid Prime. I think I'd give the edge to BioShock personally.

From what I see from a quick online search, Timesplitters 2 and Future Perfect are reviewed the highest on PS2. I have no idea if that's worth going on though.

Not a fan of FPS genre to be frank. At high school during lunch period we would play Unreal Tournament, and Quake III. I did enjoy Tribes aerial Assault for PlayStation 2 Online Network back when it was released, although the atmosphere fog was annoying.

The only FPS that caught my attention and had to play all the way though was Shogo: Mobile Armor Division for PC.

Portal 1 and 2. Yes they are different than other FPS because they are classified as first person puzzle games but that's why I like them. Really fun and no ultra violence and gore.
