Does anyone write their names on their games?

^ Sometimes. If it's actual Sharpie. But I've had plenty of names written on games where the name laughs at my rubbing alcohol.

Dry erase marker and just wipe it off.  10/10.  Every time.

Same thing works if you write on a white board with a sharpie.

worth a try. not like it will damage the game any more than it already is with the marks on it.

And as that permanent marker ages, it pretty much dyes the plastic, making it so you have to essentially sand it off the cartridge which is never a good idea. I try to avoid marked up games at all costs

I was in a thrift store today looking for games, when I saw a bag full of "dry erase markers" and several bottles of "white board cleaner" for $2.80, and I remembered reading this thread. I figured what do I have to loose?

I was able to quickly remove the "permanent magic marker" from over a dozen NES and SNES cartridges. The "dry erase marker" removed the  "permanent magic marker", and the "white board cleaner" removed the "dry erase marker" residue.

Then, I used some "Goo-Gone Pro" to remove some sticker residue from the cartridges.

These cartridges have not looked this good in over 20 years.

Next up, restoring my N64 cartridges.

i used to stick my name on like... manga?

I write my name in books that I read, inside of the cover and also include the year.
Not library books.

Success, I have 10 more N64 Cartridges that are "maker free" and their labels are still intact.
