I feel as if the change that happened from last gen to the current one wasn't "How much more realistic can we get this looking?" but "How much more can we add to this?". To me, that's the big change, worlds are bigger and more populated and more of it is loaded up at once.

What about VR in combination with the life like grapics,

Many can't even play resident evil VR since it's to scary with VR and the current grapics.

VR is a big step for some game genre's

I don't think VR will ever take off in gaming. I think it will do well for virtual vacations and porn though.

Playing rpg's first person shooters, survival horror action games in VR I think in those genre's it could be a big deal

Only for sports and fighting games I will agree that it will not take off but otherwise it could be pretty nice. I think it will take of in the future and it will be pretty standard and high quality.

The next step after VR would be smell touch and taste.

No. VR has already been proven, more than once, that it can't even be a fad, much less a success. VR sucks.

Nothing will really improve to be fair. More realistic grapics will not be to much of a difference.

I disagree with your opinion but We'll see what the future holds for us

VR on ps4 is the best atm with certain games, the others were kinda crappy.

Even the best VR option atm is still small talk the full potential has not been reached, far from it.

North America wasn't colonized on it's first or second attempt. It doesn't mean the ground is not fertile.

It's just an overpriced gimmick. It's not going to take off since most people don't want to shell out a lot of money for something that'll be neat for about a week

That's a really good quote.  I'm going to hang onto that one.

It wasn't? I mean, I know the first few trips with Columbus they didn't colonize. But he didn't go there with the intent to colonize. Hell, he didn't even know it existed, he thought he was going to Asia.

I thought that once the Spanish and English both went to America with the intent to colonize, it happened.

The vikings came here first.  Their colonies didn't work out, I guess.  The Roanoke Colony comes to mind too.

Didn't the Vikings just come here to pillage and rape, though?

I just looked up the Roanake thing, creepy. Now I'm interested.

Surely they didn't sail all the way over here for local tail.  I would have thought they'd at least start a camp if they came that far.

That's kind of their thing. Rape, pillage, kill; bring home the goods.

VR doesn't suck. It's just not a replacement for traditional gaming. Not sure anyone expected it to be.

As for the topic. Nothing ever feels next gen anymore. Improvements are incremental, even on new hardware. The last few games released on a console look and feel better than the launch titles by a pretty good margin. I'm considering PS4 and Xbox One to be nearly a by-gone era at this point. I think of XB1X and Switch as being the starting point for a new "next gen", and perhaps even PS4 Pro though it wasn't a very substantial upgrade.
