The characters "<>" caused issues with an item
« on: September 20, 2017, 10:52:26 am »
I recently submitted an edit to include the box art on one of the games I purchased. (https://vgcollect.com/item/130994) I included the < and > symbols so it accurately reflects how the box text is displayed, but it looks like putting those in screwed up the entry. Here's a picture of the back of the box on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/ASIA-ENGLISH-VERSION-PS4-YS-Origin-Brand-New-/263214575687?hash=item3d48cfb047:g:K70AAOSwfglZv299

Is this a bug or just a feature of the text that I don't know about (like [ br])

Thanks :)

I can't say for certain how the site works, but you could try to place the HTML Code for "<" and ">" and see if that works.

"<" and ">" respectively.

Do not use those characters at this time.

I mean, I figured that. I'll resubmit the box text with those characters removed.

EDIT: When I go to edit the game, the words flanked by <> reappear in the text box. Though they disappear again when the item is viewed normally.
