What are your biggest ideas for the future of modern gaming?

  Me and my brother were both talking about our digital copies of games we got on clearance in the microsoft store.  I was telling him how I got Unravel and how much I enjoyed it and he had gotten Need for Speed Rivals.  We both want to play eachothers digital games but their isn't anyway to trade them or even borrow them.  So than I thought of the idea of a giant game trade center similar to how you trade pokemon on 3DS. :)

It would be a downloadable app like the YouTube app called the Xbox Game Swap or something.  2 friends who are online can invite eachother to trade digital games.  Once you select two games you want to swap or say 1 game for 2 not as expensive games or even just free lending of a game, you hit confirm and than voila!!   Digital game trade made simple. :)

Their could even be a timed loan time system, where you put the amount of time you want the swap to last, or how long you want someone to keep your borrowed game than after the time is up it goes back into your library.  They'd lose no money because no new games are being given, just simple swaps.   The app could even cost 4.99 or something.   It would be amazing :D   This would bring back the nostalgic trading and borrowing aspect of gaming to the digital space..   it would work on PSN too and switch but Nintendo doesn't like to conform to such things.

Another idea I had although simple is a headband visor that the switch monitor can attach to for when you play in bed so you can play it portably but also hands free and without holding the weight of the console up as you play all night. It would be like google glass but with the switch monitor extending in front.  Like some super spage age sci fi stuff.  It could be like a headband out of a thick durable material that extends the switch about 1 foot in front of your face with an arm with mounts,  than you can use the joycons at lap level as you lay down or to play on the bus or such without really holding the switch as it does get heavy if you hold it for hours.  :D

What ideas do you wish would be implimented in the future?  :)

Achievement system on Nintendo based consoles is my number 1 wish but not really a new idea as everyone says it all the time.

Actually, with the Xbox One there is. Set each other's consoles as your home console. Then everything you purchase on your account will be playable on his console and vice-versa. You can even play multiplayer games with/against each other with only one copy of a game. The only minor caveat is that you'd need to keep the One connected to the internet.

This is pure fantasy, but I'd love to see a new cartridge based system happen and have a ton of developers make games for it.

It would be easier to turn the moon into cheese, than it would be for that to happen.  Such an absurd fantasy!

That's why I stick to my arcade game cartridges. These modules tell a lot about a long gone time period and even with the knowledge that carts are also mass-produced items I still consider them more valuable because I see a little bit of craftmanship and thinking in their design - especially when it comes to making a new PCB layout for a certain game. That is (forced) love to detail which I appreciate. Also, the developers really had to find creative solutions to cope with the limited space and capabilities of the 8/16/24bit consoles. They are like art to me, which in some cases are only produced in small quantities like some releases for the Neo Geo. Beginning with the PS1 I immediately lost interest with disc based console gaming. They have ZERO appeal to me. There is nothing about them, that I like. They are plain boring to me.

I mean, CDs might look boring but the contents on the CD tend to be a bit more exciting.

if your an rpg lover carts pretty much suck in comparison I'll give you that.

@bikinhatjun

Why would you need carts back? Your just asking for high prices, they will be purely collectible since on cd you can create the same games on disc easily. Your just asking to pay high prices  :o

As far as the ps1 goes, plenty of arcade games on there that's for sure the art work is also pretty cool, ps1 and ps2 are pretty solid systems ps3 onwards pretty downwards as far as arcade games go.

my biggest ideas are that card games and casinos are the most popular destinations in this millennium. A lot of time people spend on gambling. You can read the content about the opportunities that online casinos provide. Behind them is the future of the gaming industry

How about official reprints of popular classic game titles? Not really a forward thinking idea, but I'm sure there exists a market for them.

Marge John is the second coming of Miyamoto and a prophet of whom we should all be kissing the feet of. The answer was in front of us the whole time and we didn't even know.  :D

Imagine how incredible it would be if Nintendo got behind the gambling addict trend? :)  It would be like microtransactions to a whole new level except they wouldn't have to give anything in return except virtual money in the Mario Casino. They could release a loan shark amiibo of some greased up muscle head that beats your head in in the game if you don't pay up with your debit for the virtual currency you owe him.  You play cards with bowser, and than Mario and Luigi take you in the back room to put jumper cables on your tits and to break your ribs with a bat because they found out you were rigging the deck or forging chips. Or maybe you play as an alcoholic gambling addict depression state Mario betting every coin he ever won on his journeys on green in the roulette wheel as he sips his last scotch tears rolling down his stache and it landing on black so you are forced to call Peach and inform her that you'll have to foreclose on the castle and that she has to go back to her job at the cheesecake factory making 10.50 an hour.   What a sad state of affairs that'd be.   The plot would be so deep and rich it'd win game of the year.  Or it could be the type of thing where Bowser is the dealer and he's clearly rigging the hands so you have to rough him up some before bouncers kick your head in.   Waluigi would be there and all.  What a brilliant idea. :D     Mario Casino.   Coming soon.
