What would your game list be for a PS2 classic edition?

Hello everyone

With the amazing succsess of the NES classic and SNES classic it seems like other companies outside of Nintendo have started to throw their hat into the ring too and taken a try at compilation consoles .   

 Compilation consoles have taken the world by storm and are beloved by millions and I know Sega has a few of their own with AT games and Coleco has a few too.  It's also been rumored that turbo grafx has filed a patent for the namesake update on the TG-16.  So some are speculating their might be a TG-16 classic edition in the works . 


What I was wondering, is if sony were to make a PS2 20th year anniversary for 2020 (i feel old noticing PS2 will be 20 in 2 years  )  What would you choose to be the 20 games to represent the console if it came into fruition       One of the most iconic, long lasting, best selling and beloved masterpieces of all time.  The PS2 birthed so many amazing franchises and is a pinacle of gaming excellence.  Narrowing it's illustrious library to 20 holy grails is extremely hard.   What 20 do you think would deserve to hit store shelves?




With my classic edition N64 post I limited it to 10 because of memory restraints, but doing that to do the PS2 would be a little unfair because of how huge and long lasting it's library was.  I think 20 would be more fun becuase we all can list a good amount of our favorite classics but not touch all of what their is to be had 


It's hard to make a diverse list, but for me, my list would look a little like this.

That was very hard.  PS2 has so many amazing games and it hurt leaving so many amazing ones out.

What would your PS2 classic edition list look like?

More than a PS2 classic I'd like for Sony or someone to make a console that plays PS2 games perfectly. PS2 disk lasers are notoriously unreliable and despite PS2s being everywhere, I do worry about their scarcity in 20 to 30 years from now. I've been through 4 of them, all having died from the same issue with the disk drive.

Since PS2 library is so vast it would be awesome to have 3 or so variations which will include alternative games in each package version. Perhaps one directed towards younger generation, adults. Or focus on simulation and adventure games, compared to animated cartoon style games. I'll take a stab at 20 games (omitting marvelvscapcom2 presented list) in alphabetical order;
