Have You Ever Had A Trusted Person Steal From You
« on: September 08, 2018, 02:08:36 am »
I don't like people who walk away with my things and (every single time they came over to play) most of my childhood so-called friends used to stuff their pockets, with my things. With every single handheld I owned growing up was stolen in pieces  and also some used to vandalize my stuff right in front of me like scraping my toy cars on the cement and sometimes even smashing my video games on the sidewalk and showing me where they did it.

I don't believe in kleptomania I just believe that people who steal can F*&K off. In my opinion there is no excuse to steal, call me heartless if you want but every vary expensive toy my dad bought me was stolen at some point even my first PlayStation 1 was stolen from my little sisters friends. I used to have an original Game Boy with 3 games and even a Game Gear with a magnifier and about 6 or 7 games stolen.

I no longer have friends but I will say this I did actual have friends as I got older that actually respected me and left my things alone

No because as a kid I would have beat them up if they did something like that.

Those friends of yours sure have some deep pockets.

They truly are master thieves if they could pocket an entire ps1 console colour me impressed  ::)

I'm pretty sure that in the realm of us normal people if expensive stuff gets stolen by friends it would return pretty fast since this stuff is expensive and it's pretty easy to know who has stolen it not to mention very easy to detect. Parents will complain and take action consoles are way more expensive in the past than a ps4 pro is today.

A few games Maybe but but your story seems highly exaggerated not to mention that in your case your just giving away your stuff since it is that easy to steal from you without any consequences even larger pieces It's like your saying ty for taking my stuff I highly appreciate it you can always return for more :o

Not really- the time or two someone pulled something they immediately got cut off. Plus I was somewhat of a tomboy growing up... I remember a couple of boys who took my bike, but I knew who did it & threaten to beat them up if I didn't get it back right now (complete with the 'pull the collar of the shirt' thing). I got it back.

I can only think of one friend who stayed a friend after screwing up my stuff- she scratched my 2nd disc of Lunar 2 to the point that didn't play anymore and got mad when I asked to her buy a replacement copy (insisting since I was already on disc 3 I wouldn't even need it again). I remember she was over when I beat the game... plays most of the ending, then prompts 'insert disc 2'. I turned very slowly, started intently at her for a minute, then quietly got up and turned the system off. I didn't really have many friends by high school, which I imagine is why I let her stick around... but she sure as hell never borrowed anything again, and I made it very clear why. Later on she would do the same thing her copy of Valkyrie Profile. We took her to a Gamestop, forced her to buy a bottle of skip-fix, repaired her game, then kept the bottle to fix our discs that she'd ruined (I finally got to see that Lunar 2 ending.)

The biggest concern for me & theft growing up was actually my brother. He went through a real bad phase during middle/high school. Mostly it was money I lost, but about half a dozen games went missing too. I got real good at hiding cash, and started keeping a list online of what games I owned so I could count once a month & figure out if anything was gone. I guess it's why I ended up here at all- even though he's long since improved and I don't see him much anyway, I never shook the habit of keeping my collection cataloged.

I had a kid steal a bunch of LEGO Bionicle masks one time. I simply took them back and stopped playing with him. My cousin stole some games from me once. He even admitted it years later. Frankly, I've never consorted with the type of kids who would steal from me.

Before You Judge me let me explain

I was a stupid kid when I used to let my friends play the handhelds and PC and I sometimes I would use the bathroom and urinate  and they wound run out the door sometimes or more than one friend was visiting and they would gain up on me. Truly their parents didn't know or didn't care. I was an abused kid by all my school peers and made fun of by an entire class in 4th grade I longed for friends and would often forgive them. I could not beat them up because I was too weak I still to this day can't win a fight

I was not a cool kid and none would even play with me at recess. I was known as retarded and gay by all my peers and had more then one bully, in fact I had a team of bullies I was not exagerating everything I said was the truth.

If you were a cool kid in the neighborhood you stole from me that was considered cool in my neighborhood

You don't have to feel sorry for me

I did have 3 friends that didn't steal. but I had 6 that did. I stop hanging out with all 6 once I got into middle school. I was never bullied in Junior or Senor High school.

Yep...my brother or the people who hung out with.
Mostly cash would disappear, but the occasional CD, movie or videogame would walk away as well.

Dirty Laundry time!! I was that kid, it happened on 2 separate occasions but I do regret it.  Pokemon LeafGreen (which I already had a copy of, I'm not sure why I felt I needed a second one, jealousy?) and 'Age of Empires: The Age of Kings' which I gave back to him after I "Found it".  Why didn't I just ask to 'borrow' these games?  That was a healthy habit, you know, sharing!!

I was such a conniving scoundrel!

I 'thought' my Pokemon SoulSilver was stolen by my best friend for a while because he had a copy around the time mine went missing.  Until my Mom pulled it out of her handbag one day.  I had a wash-over of guilt for believing my friend would do that & frustration that my mom let that happen.

Back in high school I had a long time friend that went on hard times during junior and senior year and his parents ended up loosing their house half way through senior year so we let him come and stay with us till we finished high school. he ended up staying with us through the summer as well and ended up earning a full ride scholarship to a university. about that time he must have decided he didn't need us anymore because on his last day at the house he stole a 50 inch flat screen hd tv (at the time it was a $3000-4000 tv) 3 game consoles and all the games, every laptop in the house and my dads coin collection (I have to estimate it to around 4-6k but he ended up melting them down so he probably only got 4-600 for them) and disappeared for a while.

he had never stolen from us before nor did we ever think he would have. obviously we called the police and they found him a week later when he showed up to his university. if im not mistaken he either just got out of prison this year or last year

Even if you did get 'most' of you stuff back, the damage is done.  All that hospitality just fell on deaf ears.

Nah, and if they did I'd beat the crap out of them so it wouldn't be an issue.

Oh yeah.  It was small stuff like memory cards.  Which wouldn't have been a big deal except, I was young living with my parents on a limited income.  So I didn't have the cash to replace them.  He and I had a falling out after that.  What's worse is that my brother had borrowed a couple of PS1 games FF Chronicles and Anthology from me.  He convinced my brother that I said it was cool for him to borrow them from him.  I never saw them again.  This guy had no issues with using his friends and anybody else to get what he wanted.  There were several times where our mutual friends got their stuff back because I was left at his house by myself while he ran around town.

I hate to admit it but I was friends with him way longer than I should have been.
