Region/country of where the alt-title comes from, whether using a TLD or language descriptor, is not to be used there.

So if I'm understanding right, the region tacked on the end is the problem?

"Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's: Master of the Cards [EU]" should just be "Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's: Master of the Cards" then, correct (without quotation marks obviously)?

If so, then I've run into another issue where mods aren't on the same page. Previously I've been submitting edits on alt names and they were getting rejected by a mod because I was leaving the country/region in parenthesis "( )" instead of brackets "[ ]" but apparently the correct way this whole time was no country/region tacked on at all eh?  :P

I believe it’s ok to have the bit on the end as long as it is a variation within the region, like having [CA] on the end of the North American release because it has both English and French on the cover.

This is only relating to alt-name field, not item title.

It doesn't fit what is laid out in the Style Guide. If you want to have consideration to use alt-name field to use region coding of some sort, you can request it here:

Derp. I thought that link led to the Style Guide. That's what I get for being half-awake.  :P

I don't really have that much of a gumption to suggest something I thought was already a thing in the first place. I'll just submit edits without the country designation going forward and hope for the best that they get approved.  ;)

Having descriptors on both is not a problem.

For the ones sold at Best Buy, are there any labels on the outer shrinkwrap?

There are no labels on the BB-sold outer shrinkwrap that differ from the LRG-sold items.

That stinks. If they did, it would make our task a bit easier for sure.

This is a bit of a preemptive strike on me. Edited an entry to remove the barcode I added a while ago. Turned out that I actually had a Canadian version instead o a US version.

Made a new entry for it.

What needs to be done on this?

I don't think there is a Canadian version, at least, I can't find evidence of one. I think this is a dupe situation as this game only has a North American release, not individual US and CA releases.

That's why I made the [CA] entry out of caution. Should I combine them then?

OK, just fond that the Amazon US entry for it has the EN/FR cover. Just submitted the edits to the original entry, and the dupe should be removed.

I try not to trust online store-fronts regarding what something actually looks like, unless it is undoubtedly using a photo of an actual item and not a stock photo/mockup or composite. And the places for finding such "proof" end up being on sites like Ebay or other classifieds websites.

Mafia II [EU] Xbox 360
https://vgcollect.com/item/46430

Original entry is from USK & Pegi rated version version according to barcode:
https://www.giuntialpunto.it/product/b001bnfqea/videogiochi-console-e-accessori-mafia-ii-uncut-edizione-germania

That entry didn't have cover picture and only Pegi rating mentioned so only Pegi rated cover art was applied.

------------

Lego Star War II: The Original Trilogy - Platinum [EU] PS2
https://vgcollect.com/item/61323

Barcode is from Pegi rated version
https://www.mobygames.com/game/ps2/lego-star-wars-ii-the-original-trilogy/cover-art

USK cover has been added later.
