Post a picture of this particular (red pcb) controller in packaging to here, if it is the same name, then yes it will be allowed onto that entry.

You’re jesting, right?

No. This would be the type of entry that should be left be until confirmed. There are plenty of items that I haven't even put into the database because I can't confirm the information. There is no harm to leave this one as is until a picture can be found of it in the packaging.

I just had some edits made to KAR Racing for the PC rejected.

My edits to this entry: https://vgcollect.com/item/143110  to change the title to "KAR Racing - Second Release" was rejected even though it fits the formatting guide.

Games denoting Special/Limited Editions, Box Sets, re-release series and/or special packs: The dash "-" is meant to show special releases, such as limited or collector's editions, greatest hits/ player's choice and any other special release or compilation. Of course, if a game is a special release with variations it would look something like this. Chrono Cross - Greatest Hits or Chrono Cross - Greatest Hits (Silver Backed Disc).

My edit to the description text for that same entry describing the details of the game's packaging changes from other releases was also rejected even though it fits the formatting guide.

The Description field should be notes about the games packaging variants/ pack ins/ collector's edition details. Or trivia about the games release, such as if it is a launch title, last title, a very limited release,  etc. This should not be filled with store descriptions describing the gameplay or hyping up the title. Plagiarizing descriptions from other sources will not be tolerated and will be deleted.

"Second Release" is not the edition name, in fact, this term does not appear on the packaging. The other two entries that are in the DB, called "third release" and "fourth release" have invalid item titles. I have quickly determined new titles for these three.

Please, enlighten me: what exactly needs to be confirmed? The design of the controller is the same throughout each one I have shown, including the one for this entry; the only thing that changes are the colors. Do you really think the packaging for each is going to be different? (Certainly not the case given the images I showed.) I seriously don't understand your position here.

What's particularly funny about this is that I bought this controller new and remember the packaging being the way its shown in the images. This was years ago, though, so I unfortunately don't have the packaging anymore, thus why I didn't give the entry its proper name, but common sense would dictate, solely by the images shown, that the controller in question is part of the same series. The darned thing does everything advertised on the back of the packaging.

No because that doesn't explain the specific release order of the games and why they are listed several times. The games had several changes made to both the packaging and the games from release to release that need to be noted and it was done in a specific order in time.  Furthermore, why did you delete all the details that explain the releases from the description? All that I typed in was personal research spanning several months and is not information that can be found elsewhere.  Nothing I submitted violated any rules and you're just making the database even worse and more confusing by needlessly deleting things that were fine to stay put.

Okay, tripedacus, I feel I'm going to regret asking this, but tell me: what's the problem now...?

The release order does not need to be explained in the item title.
For descriptions, there is no need to put what year the thing came out, because there is a release date field. Also, the description text that described other items, or stated what was "not" present, is removed.

Surely you can see the difference in the picture.
This is a situation of retail vs subscription covers... It is a reject because it deserves its own topic on it, even though I seem to recall it being talked about before.

As I said, I regret asking.

So, by that logic all of the following should have a different entry because they have a mail address slip?

https://vgcollect.com/item/12733
https://vgcollect.com/item/12734
https://vgcollect.com/item/12735

https://vgcollect.com/item/13108
https://vgcollect.com/item/13109
https://vgcollect.com/item/13124

You get the idea.

And yeah, we had "talked" about this once where an image I submitted with the address blanked out was rejected. I don't believe it's appropriate to host images of magazines with an address.

And you didn't address my last post...

You know what, on second thought, forget it. I've lost interest, so I'll stick to submitting new entries (so long as there's something new to add to the database that I own).

Thanks.

I agree that the whole "retail vs subscription" deal on magazines would warrant a separate discussion and poll. Personally I don't think we should have two entries for each and the retail version should be the image represented in the database

EDIT: I remember it being brought up before as well

I've tried to append [UK] to the title (since it's the UK release and all), but the edit keeps getting rejected with "Information Already on File." I've tried searching for possible duplicates but couldn't find any.

You could have sent an eMail first before doing it and said to change it - and there was sure as hell no reason to delete the entire thing. Now that means I have to re-type all that information back out again from scratch. Again. Like the other poster said - I don't care about helping this database anymore when there is an admin that deletes things at will just for the hell of it.

Problem VG has is they have 9 admins, and only 1.5 active ones, https://vgcollect.com/forum/index.php/topic,6644.0.html. So Trip is doing everything. But they lose alot of willing people this way, me included.

Brawlhalla (https://vgcollect.com/item/153096) is an eShop game, no physical copy exists. There's another listing in the Switch eShop category (https://vgcollect.com/item/156596) but it has no information.

Only would need to have [UK] on the title if there is an English EU release in the db. There isn't on, if one were present, then this entry would have [UK] and the other release would be the one without a TLD in the title.
