I just came to say to all of you, "I used to be homeless in Detroit" with nothing except a warm bed and not even a pair of glasses, but I came to Detroit with one shirt one pair of shorts and one pair of underwear. And nobody would even hire me, when I did try to get a REAL job. But the job I have today, is better. An office job fixing computers, but I do leave my office sometimes, and work outside of it too. I am not a butt jockey you know.?

I'm sorry that hapoened to you, but it is completely Off Topic for this thread.

Pseudoraglia just came out, I wrote more on it in my 52 Games post, but it's good, the 3D platformer mobility features feel really great.  It has some rough edges, but for only 5 bucks, I can't complain too much, it feels like a real passion project for the dev.

Just came back to this thread to make sure this was mentioned.

Me as well. I just finished watching Game Maker's Toolkit's latest video about their preferred pick for 2023's most innovative game, and Pseudoregalia is shown as an honorable mention. Watching its gameplay I thought, hey, I know some people who'd probably be into that. Glad to see it's on people's radar.

I went ahead and threw it in my cart along with Baldur's Gate 3, and I'm gonna tryo t play it sooner rather than later.

I picked up a couple of things thrifting while I was out of town for the holidays:

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 for Game Boy Color
Pinball Hall of Fame: The Gottlieb Collection for PS2
Pools of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor for PC

Tetris - It's got some real moments of brilliance, but it is a little too long and repetitive with some very clunky exposition (especially up front).

Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World - Got the itch and needed to watch this again.  It's on of those movies that I already loved, but it just keeps getting better every time I watch it.  Just a total masterpiece.

Meg 2: The Trench - It's s big, dumb, has really crappy VFX, but I had more fun than the first film. Reminded me of the wackier Showa era Godzilla films.

The Flash - Honestly? Much better than I thought it'd be, but it is still a bloated, (extremely) ugly, and cynical product of a soulless mega corporation pillaging the metaphorical graves of both ideas and people. That doesn't stop it from having a few decent laughs and memorable performances.

The Man Who Would Be King - Michael Caine and Sean Connery as best bud conmen.  Even with a terrible script that would still be entertaining.

Rush (2013) - Hemsworth's best performance by miles, but the film belongs to Brühl. Excellent dad-fernoon fare.

Blue Beetle - The absolute best superhero movie of 2006, and I don't mean that in a bad way.

Wing Chun - All of the action narrative is 100% first rate. The first 20-30 minutes or so are back-to-back-to-back sequences of Michelle beating unholy amounts of ass. However, the movie really struggles with messaging and the mistaken identity story. It was at least halfway into the moviebefore I realized that people were supposed to be mistaking Michelle's Wing Chun for a man.

The First Purge - Conceptually I really like it, but it takes way too long to get going and doesn't really deliver on the street gangs vs. Purge gangs idea.

The Beekeeper - So self-seriously stupid that it nears perfection.

Step Brothers - There's not much story here and I'm still not sure how outlandish Dale and Brennan are supposed to be in this world, but man is it funny.  Also, Will Ferrell hitting his nutsack on a snare drum is some of the best Foley work I've ever heard.

Jurassic Park - One of the all-time great action-adventure movies.  Obliterates all of the sequels.  Probably the best full animatronics ever created.  One of John Williams best scores.  The movie that made me love movies.

The Equalizer - A fine entry in the "certain set of skills" action subgenre.

The Family Plan - Its got its moments, but this is way too long.  If it were like 20-25 minutes shorter it would be way more tolerable.

"Internet Archives" they got old, outdated files for data preservation
Yea someone has got to clean the hamster archives, because some of the games won't even go through my internet connection and some will.

Then what's all this about?

Quote
are you not the real Spock.?

Never claimed to be.  Yet another wild and bizarre statement on your part.

Then you'll need to clarify:

Is the company you are talking about "Arcade Archive by Hamster Corporation?"  Because there is no "Hamster Archive" that I could find.

Anymore? well where is your video games? I am sorry I need to get ROM's because almost all my video games are broken by hack coders. My entire N64 collection I paid for yea?

Having and using ROMs is perfectly fine - as long as you have either purchased the ROM from a legal distributor, or own a physical copy of the game.  Etsy sellers cannot legally sell ROMs that they are not the distributor for.  And per forum rules, that type of discussion is verboten.

Stop playing head games with me. I know the archives are not bad hackers and fresh copies are backed up. What is it that you have against me? huh, I am not even a moderation team member stop, talking to me like I'm forum trash, I don't talk to you like that do I? I posted here concerning the video game archives, and about video game preservation? yea? this is a video game forum is it not? I'm sure somebody from the archives attends this forum somewhere. What is it you got against video games man?

Are you sure this a road you want to go down?  I'm one of the few members of the board - moderator or not - who has spoken up for you.  I believe that you are here to discuss video games in good faith, even if you sometimes have trouble expressing yourself.

However, you spend a lot of time spouting conspiracy theory nonsense that is either false, misleading, or outright unintelligible, and it's getting completely out of hand.  You drag people who aren't involved in conversations into them.  You claim to speak for everyone on this board, when your ideas are fringe at best, and everyone, including me, one of your sole advocates, is getting tired of it.

Speaking of Arcade Archives, I got most of them check out my PS2 collection for details.

Very cool! I quit envy you :)

also I paid those Internet archives $10.00 donation after I downloaded only some of  my ROMs off their that they didn't already sell on Etsy

Etsy is not a game distributor and purchasing ROMs from there (especially if you dont own the game in another capacity) is tantamount to piracy.

Not sure what your current obsession with Jason is, but stop bringing up other users in threads just to use them as (good or bad) strawmen for arguments when you have no idea what their actual opinions are.

Purchasing and ROMs from someone that is not the legal distributor of the software is piracy and illegal.

Arcade Archive by Hamster Corporation (who I assume you are actually talking about) is the legal distributor of many arcade titles and not a group of "hackers."

I've watched the first two seasons of Succession over the last week or so.  It's really good, and has-been steadily increasing in quality as it goes along, but I'm not feeling that it's one of the best shows of all time yet. The acting is uniformly incredible and it has incredibly natural feeling conversations and dialogue, though.

too bad Jason has the controls

What does this mean?

the GM cannot ban me for complimenting good people on Christmas day.

oldgamerz I have absolutely no desire to ban you, but you've got to start putting more critical thought into what you post, stop spam replying to yourself, and stop replying to years-old threads with non sequiturs.
