Yeah, it looks like this current year a lot of interesting prototypes are leaking online, this time "Forrest of Illusion" a website that attemp to preserve most of this content from videogames, actually managed to publish online the prototype of Dinosaur Planet for the Nintendo 64.

Most people will maybe know at this point that Star Fox Adventures was actually meant to be a completely different game without Star Fox input for the Nintendo 64 but Shigeru Miyamoto himself after watching the project thought the concept of the game could fit perfectly with Star Fox so he requested the change and after revamping the game it became the Star Fox Adventures that was released back then in 2002.

About this build of the game the date of the prototype is supposedly 1 of december from 2000, almost a year prior the release of the final version for Nintendo Gamecube.

This build includes a lot of placeholder stuff and is obviously unfinished, it looks like this build don't include more than 1 hour or 2 of gameplay so don't expect to enjoy the Gamecube game but with Nintendo 64 graphics.

What I can highlight about the prototype is the impressive graphics for the game and that the cutscenes feature voice acting something that was almost impossible for the console because the limited space of the cartridges.

So, I consider this one of the most interesting discoveries from the year so far, If just like me you remember watching scans of Dinosaur Planet back then in a Nintendo Magazine and feel nostalgia I recommend you try it up, it actually works with most emulators and real hardware using a flash card, I just hope Nintendo won't take it down.

Classic Video Games / Pac-Man World (PSX) - 2.5 Classic Waka Waka.

Pac-Man World is certainly one of the most important games for the franchise and one of the PS1 games that people always mention when remembering childhood memories with the console.

It's Pac-Man World a classic? Yes, I think so.

Something I find pretty interesting about Pac-Man World is the fact the game is pseudo-2.5 with some 3D, the reason is because at the time in 1999, some fully 3D platformers were already in the market, so I think that make Pac-Man World feel somehow a bit unique, also the 2.5 is actually pretty useful and accurate for the gameplay of Pac-Man because most of the time the character can collect the classic cookies and defeat the also iconic ghosts with a gameplay pretty similar to the original game, I certainly think is pretty clever.

I think the game has creativity for a Pac-Man game in 1999 but I kinda think they indeed needed to pull out new concepts and ideas for the franchise, the levels and worlds of the game feel a bit basic for modern standards but for the time it was released I think is fine even if I can't still see the connection between Pac-Man and a pirate island.

Pac-Man World level design works like a classic platforming game of the time, the unique features are the common fights with the ghost that resemble a lot the classic game, collecting fruits and stuff for open doors with more collectables and resolve puzzles for keep progressing or open more paths for reach the final checkpoint.

The game indeed make a good work having some pretty memorable moments, I can quickly mention the third boss that is an obviously reference to Galaga the other classic Namco game, the fourth boss with the race boss fight, and I think most of the levels are filled with enough good design and creativity for feel that the game worth it.

Unfortunately, though, I can agree Pac-Man World has some truly flaws that ruin the final product, first of all I can mention the mazes that are a reference to the classic game and is a minigame that is available like one of the collectables for the game, it's not terrible or bad but I can't stop thinking they doesn't work like they should, while the design of the mazes is fine, the mazes are filled with hazards and the ghosts, but the problem is that most of the time is pretty hard avoid the hazards and ghosts at the same time, and I want to believe most people will relate that for beat the mazes the best option is just lose lives and damage boost until eating all the cookies for resume the normal gameplay.

Also the second boss of the game and the third level of the fourth world are just unbearable, if you search opinions or videos about the game you will quickly note that is a noisy opinion the players that mention their problems and how difficult were those two parts of the game, the boss is unfair and even the developers themselves admited the lack of time testing it properly, but the third level of the fourth world? I won't lie saying I almost dropped the game and I was legit upset, after beating the level the game resume the good gameplay, though.

Anyway, while I truly disliked some moments of Pac-Man World, I certainly think is a good and memorable game, the music that is a reference to classic Namco games is certainly charming and the game has the quality I expect from a japanese 90s platforming game, I think it is worthy of one playthrough even if you will certainly don't feel like playing again because those difficult parts I mentioned above, Pac-Man World is certainly a classic and good celebration of the time the franchise was just 20 years old.

- You are welcome to disagree with me.

Note: Pac-Man Party for the Nintendo Wii actually mention that the Pac-Dots are cookies, but if you are happier calling them pac-dots, go ahead, I just think is neat that all this time Pac-Man ate cookies, but now the question is, those are vanilla cookies? Butter cookies? Or lemon cookies?, some questions were never meant to be answered, I guess.

A few months I talked about Crash Bandicoot 1 so this time this is a mini thread about the sequel.

Anyway after the release of the first game it was obviously that Crash Bandicoot was a hit for Naughty Dog and Sony, so a sequel was quickly spawned in just one year.

After reading some comments it seem that the noisy opinion is that Crash 2 is the fan favorite game in the franchise, I can agree? I guess.

Pretty much Crash 2 it's just a way better game than the first one and I can't think of about a flaw of the original game that wasn't fixed for this one.

Crash just controls better, he is faster, has a better grip, the new movements for the characters are useful and the weird arc jump from the first game was removed for a better inertia while falling off.

The level design is also better and more polished than the original game, it's more interesting, creative and I can certainly think some levels are memorable for the console, even some weirds placement of enemies, boxes and obstacles from the last game are not present at all in this sequel.

So, indeed Crash Bandicoot 2 is a pretty good game, the few stuff I don't like is for example the mission for collect all colored gems, it's not bad but I just don't see the game making it clear or at least giving a simple hint to the player for find out secret exits or the key for unlock the colored gem.

But besides that, I don't have much problem, Crash 2 is a good game and I certainly recommend that people that thought the first game was charming but flawed to play this one and this time enjoy it.

- You are welcome to disagree with me.

Note: Have you noted that people just accepted that Crash's sister "Coco" spawned from no where and just accepted it? Nice stuff.

I also like that she is his sister because at the time such concept wasn't popular at all.

Classic Video Games / Talking a bit about that Goldeneye 007 Remaster leak.

Note: Download links won't be provided this is just a topic for talk about the subject just for the sake of novelty and curiosity.

A few days ago the cancelled Goldeneye 007 Remaster was leaked from an unknown source and people have started playing it and testing it.

Why it was cancelled and how it was leaked?

The reason behind the cancellation seems to be quite clear, the rights for the game are spread from multiple sources and Microsoft while interesed about make it playable on modern hardware the plans are always shelved because the rights subject.

So it seems that at least at moment an official port is unlikely, but now who and how this port was leaked?

Supposedly the game complete build was available for just an hour back then in 2007 for a Xbox 360 network for developers and journalist and someone managed to download it, who is the person behind the leak looks like is something that is better keep like a secret, though.

But now the archive is available for everyone on the internet and is playable using methods like emulation or a modded Xbox 360.

I am actually happy the game is preserved but about the remaster itself what it includes?

Pretty much HD assets, new 3D models and a more stable framerate of 60 frames compared to the original release, it also includes an online multiplayer mode and my favorite thing is that the Nintendo logo was changed for a screen that reads "You expect me to delete the Nintendo logo, Bond? No I expect you to die", great stuff.

While it's still unlikely that an official release will ever happen at least people and fans can finally take a look or play the first attemp for bring back to life a classic of the Nintendo 64.

Last year Pac-Man celebrated it's 40th anniversary so I just wanted to talk a bit about the franchise.

First of all, I think is kind of cool that the general culture towards Pac-Man is that massive that even people that never played video games at all wanted to try it up or knew about the development of the original game.

Like a game itself I don't think is even neccesary explain the concept because just like Mario I want to believe it is that popular for quickly understand it or know it, I think Pac-Man is just a master-piece, after 40 years the game is still fun and well designed like the first day it was released, I think just some games like Pac-Man has managed to truly build up a timeless concept that will be always fun and great.

About other sequels I have played a bunch, that are like different version of the original game, some more interesting games are Pac-Man 2 for the Genesis and SNES that is like a point and click platforming game, or Pac-Attack that is a good puzzle game.

Some peeps could met Pac-Man back then in 2000, playing the classic game "Pac-Man World" that was a 2.5 game with Pac-Man having a new design and a good gameplay that made a game that is the favorite of many people for the console.

Anyway Pac-Man had lots of other games and concepts, nowadays the most popular game is a free to play android game of the original games and Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 that is certainly great.

About other projects, there is a more family friendly project called "Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures" that used a Kid version of the character with a new design, it had a fun tv show and 4 games that are kind of underrated and were good enough for fans.

About other stuff I never consumed at all are merchandise and such, but I always knew that Pac-Man was such a phenomenon back then and nowadays is still loved by many fans around the world.

I certainly hope Pac-Man still make people happy for many more years.

And you? What is your story with the all times master-piece "Pac-Man"?

I wanted to make this topic for ask and share how our online store purchases went this year because why not.

First of all this year I started ordering stuff for myself instead of ask for the help of some friends and you know what? It is way better, I am thankful with my friends but they just dont care about this at all and they have lost or dont took the proper responsibility about the subject and yeah, I am upset, some lost money and errors are fine the first couple times, not after 7 or more.

My first highlight is Dewy Adventure for the Wii, it was the first game I bought from ebay and it went perfect, no problems and it convinced me of keep buying stuff using the service.

My second highlight is a Tokimeki Memorial game for PS2, I bought it for 6 bucks and I wasnt expecting it to arrive, because after 2 months it looks like the item was lost, I was upset but a few weeks later I received the game and I was truly surprised, it took a lot but I got it at the end, no idea why, though, I assume there was a problem.

My third highlight is that I got Shadow of Memories in great condition, like collector item, it is special because it was the last game that my friends lost and I needed to pay for something I didnt get, so getting it this time using my own methods is truly cathartic, it arrived inside a box and with sleeve for extra care, great stuff.

My four highlight is that I ordered Konami WaiWai World 2 and Sonic Mega Collection for my birthday and it went perfectly, since Konami and Sonic are so important for me it was a nice gift for myself.

Those are my highlights for this year buying stuff from ebay, what are yours?
While that I am not open to make business again with my friends about this subject I still appreciated their help with the subject and I wish them the best,

For some reason for spend the ending of this year I wanted to briefly write down some stuff I don't like from some consoles, it's not a subject for take it seriously or that I hate the consoles or ruin them for me, it's just an idea I had for burn some time, if you feel is a pessimistic idea I am sorry and I hope it doesn't brother you about your favorite console.

Well, let's move it.

- What I don't like about the Atari 2600?

Nothing seriously, but I can't stop thinking is amusing how loud some game effects were for a lot of games, some Activision games or other ones had some truly jump-scare explosions.

- What I don't like about the NES?

Nothing seriously, but I think one of the decisions for the console didn't aged well, for example a classic NES console will make the screen constantly and annoying blink if it doesn't recognize the cartridge, I remember that a dude I met taught me that inside the console is a part that if you cut from the board it won't make that blink never again, and it actually worked, I don't think is that seriously, I assume Nintendo didn't expect that from happening.

- What I don't like about the Famicom?

Nothing seriously, but I don't like that the second controller is stuck with the console, I also remember reading that if you buy an original system and play with it with overseas energy system there is a chance the different electricity from the countries will burn the console, I certainly assume is not that serious and it's just an advice, but again I assume Nintendo didn't expect that someone in 2020 from overseas would buy a Famicom from ebay with the sole purpose of playing a game from the 80s.

- What I don't like the Sega Master System?

I am not sure about this but I heard the console don't have proper channels for music, if not that all the music were made using the wave channel, if you have some knowledge about how music is made and the consoles worked it's possible you will quickly understand what it's happening here, anyway I am not sure about it is just other of those things I read from someone else, it's not that serious but it certainly make a good job explaining why the ost of Master System games were so different when comparing with other 8-bits consoles.

- What I don't like about the Sega Genesis?

This will sound hilarious but what I don't like is how the console is connected to the tv, at least the one I had needed to unplug the tv paid channels cord and then put the adaptor of the console just to plug the cord again with the adaptor, of course I assume other Sega Genesis models didn't needed that thing and had more simple AV cords, it's just that I had bad luck buying mine.

- What I don't like about the SNES?

To be honest, only that the plastic from the console can get that weird yellow color if not shelved properly, it's one of those things that will happen eventually so it's okay.
But I will admit that open and wash the shell is something that I am not open to do.

- What I don't like about the GameBoy?

Nothing, I could complain about it using 4 batteries but... let's be clear, it's obviously that with modern batteries the console could get powered up for weeks and if you have rechargeable batteries this is just not a problem at all.

- What I don't like about the Game Gear?

Nothing, I also assume modern batteries will resolve the power problem.

- What I don't like about the Atari Linx?

Nothing, I could mention the screen but I have never played it using real hardware.

- What I don't like the 3DO?

Nothing, maybe that they lied about the console real power.

- What I don't like about the Atari Jaguar?

That the hardware was so difficult to develop that even nowadays it is still pretty difficult to emulate the console properly and maybe that all those buttons on the controller are kinda useless.

- What I don't like about the Sega Saturn?

That someone at Sega thought it was a good idea release it with no games in USA just because the possible advantage over PSX, I guess that's something just in the 90s could be taken as interesting, imagine releasing the PS5 with no games, maybe since that clear moment the console was already doomed in NA, I could also mention the lot of horsepower the console need for emulation on modern hardware.

- What I don't like about the PSX?

Well, pretty much just the region lock and the memory card support, I certainly dislike that once card can just save like 12 games or even less, that's not a problem until you start playing a lot of games from the massive catalogue of the console, though.

- What I don't like about the N64?

I truly like the N64, what I don't like is that some games needed a pak for save data, I assume it was for cost and memory options but it feels a bit upsettling that I must get both cartridge and and own "memory card" for save the progress from a cartridge game, and maybe that open the console and repair it, it's a hell, way too many screws.

- What I don't like about the Sega Dreamcast?

Nothing.
The Sega Dreamcast was perfect.

- What I don't like about the Gameboy Color?

The only thing I don't like is that the console died way too soon, it had like 2 years and then the GBA was released, I thought the console had more future that it lasted, and deserved more good games.

- What I don't like about the PS2?

Nothing, the PS2 is also perfect.
Well, maybe the lots and lots of shovelware and that again most of the memory cards works better if it's an 8MB one, some unofficial cards have more space but they don't work with some games.

- ¹What I don't like about the Xbox?

Nothing, maybe just that open to console and fix it it's also hellish.

What I don't like about the GCN?

Maybe just that the mini disc only had like 1.5GB of space, I am kinda confident this was one of the reasons some games never reached the console, but who knows.

What I don't like about the GBA?

The only thing I don't like about the console is the shovelware, maybe 3D shovelware can be sort of amusing, but shovelware for the GBA is other level of bad, some games are legit unplayable, ugly looking garbage that make not justice to the console.

What I don't like about the PSP?

Maybe that is kinda easy destroy the home bar and make that your console will get the select, start or volume buttons, destroyed and useless, it is pretty annoying and repair the console is once again one of those things that it's not easy at all.

-

That's just some opinions I had, like I said is not that seriously and I am pretty easy to forget those things while playing the games.

And you? What you don't like about your favorite consoles.

I dont follow the retro updates all the time but is clear that some retro items always get expensier each year.

So what are the items that you are expecting will increase their prices this 2021?

I expect pretty much the following:

1 - NES games
2 - PSX games
3 - Genesis games

I expect mostly japanese PSX games will increase their value, and like always classic videogames from the NES.

I dont expect much from PS2 games, I think only the most sought titles like Kuon or Suikoden V will get expensier for at least some 30$, other items possible will keep a good price.

So, thats my question, what are the retro items that you are expecting will increase their value next year?

Yeah at this point we all know the development hell and the atrocitius game that is Superman 64, I would love watch someday a truly large and deep analysis of the game, because Superman64 truly deserve it, It dont deserve a mediocre video of 10 minutes, it deserve a truly long documental of 10 hours analyzing the smallest detail, I hope I live to see that day.

Anyway it is known that a company started porting the game to the PSX making it actually a good game instead of an ugly unfinished tech demo that can cause claustrofobia, but when the game was finished, Titus lost the license of Superman and couldn't get other one, unfortunately and then the game was just cancelled and shelved for all eternity.

Supposedly the story is that someone in 2011 or 2012 actually had this build of the game and sold it on ebay to someone that posted gameplay online, the person indeed wanted to release the demo but like it has been said before some collectors have problems with this kind of content being released to the public, anyway after 8 long years the build was finally released and posted on Deviantart from all places
(Seriously, why a drawing community? Why not archive.org or Hidden Palace? Lost Media Wiki? Why the place that everyone at their 9s years use for post their fanfiction couples sketches?).

Unfortunately it seem that after some controversy with the subject of collectors the page was deleted, but fortunately a smart guy downloaded the game and posted it online on Archive.org for everyone.

I won't post links.
But after watching a few gameplay, yeah, the game looks just way better and actually good, I am not sure if it completed but I guess someone will post a full walkthrough soon.

But for now, it feels like the story of Superman 64 can finally end with a happy ending at last.

Cancelled roms for games count as abandonware right?

Does the name of "Croc" ring any bells?
Maybe it should after all the development story of the game is kinda connected to Nintendo and some classic names that worked in the 90s making great games.

Anyway trying to summary, Croc was one of the first real attemps for making a 3D platformer title alongside the game of a Bobcat and a plumber, and playing a few hours of Croc it start to be pretty notable the early ideas for the concept.

First of all, Croc has tank controllers just like Resident Evil or Tomb Raider, and second you can start noting that all levels of the game are like small or medium rooms instead of just a huge level like it became pretty standard with games like Mario 64 or Banjo-Kazooie.

Overall I think Croc is a classic or at least is worthy play it a few hours just for take a look how were the first attemps making a genre that had such popularity in the late 90s and 2000s, the graphics looks pretty cute and some of the tunes are truly memorable like some of the ice world.

Maybe the worst problem of Croc is that sometimes the challenges that the game request to the player are just way too difficult to perform with the tank controllers and you can start feeling that indeed the game of the plumber had more luck with the platforming, and I can't stop feeling the game sometimes just like to cheat the player making not pretty clear that destroying a box stop the player from getting all collectables without restarting first or some minigames are just way too hard with once again the tank controllers making it harder it should be.

Just to finish, I think Croc is not perfect but is a classic, at least myself I don't consider that all classic must be perfect games, yes, you can make your own argument about my thought, I am kinda curious about what other people think, Croc is one of the pioneers for the 3D platforming genre and I think it is worthy at least a few hours of gameplay.

- You are welcome to disagree with me.

I recently played the first Rayman game because I felt it was a good moment since the franchise turned 20 years old recently.

Anyway Rayman is a 2D platforming game with soft exploration, skills per world and a lot of cages that you must find and destroy if you want to get the final boss.

Most of the time reading opinions about the game it seem that the noisy opinion of Rayman is mostly positive but that the game is so difficult or unfair, can I agree? Kinda.

If I am sincere I do agree Rayman likes to put way too many obstacles and hard challenges to the player that require some memorization and trial and error until getting right and it get worse when the game just offer 5 credits and 3 lives for beat the more of 20 levels and get all cages that are also pretty hidden and most of the time won't be visible if the player don't touch first a certain point of the stage.

I could be more strict with Rayman if it wasn't because... well, I am absolutely amazed by the game and I truly love it, first of all the graphics are just gorgeous, it's is breath-taking how Rayman still looks great and better than games that were released just the last week, second the music is also precious and make a great job feeling like a proper and dream-catching experience, the amount of charming that the game has is just breath-taking.

Also I must admit that while the game is pretty hard indeed, I can't stop thinking that it indeed is a solid game with a well thought level design most of the time, I certainly think the game make a good job teaching the player about explore the whole stage searching the cages and touching almost everything for make appear something new.

I think what save the game of feeling extremely unfair is that at least the developers put a useful cheat code that offers the player 99 lives the first time beating the levels and that Ubisoft has re-released the game a few times making it easier.

Overall I would like that Ubisoft would released the game again but removing the limited credits and lives and just make it infinite lives like Rayman Origins or Legends, because I must admit that beside that detail, Rayman is a well-designed, solid and a truly classic.

You are welcome to disagree with me.

Classic Video Games / PS2 turn 20 in NA
« on: October 26, 2020, 08:42:30 pm »
|START》|

The legendary PS2 was released 20 years ago in NA.

I have never understood were there aren't many stories about the console, or about the development of the console.

There a few interesting stuff that I consider memorable or curious, for example a lot of developers and people thought the console wasn't as impressive like for example, Sega console the Dreamcast and there were unfortunately rumors that the console was too hard for program and develop games.

The launch day of the console in Japan wasn't too good either, the software sold was too poor because most people bought the console for the cheap dvd player instead of the catalogue of the console and even is documented that one person jumped from a building because he couldn't get the console.

While that the future of the console didn't looked too promising, people at Sony were calm and just waited until people could understand the greatness of the console, and like most of you should know at this point it happened.

I absolutely love the console.
The controller, the design of the console, the iconic boot up screen and more.

Also the console indeed had a great catalogue of games.

The logo in the console, the blue PS2 logo is also rather clever, because it meant that the logo was the world and the black raven of the console the universe, that's what I call good design.

So yeah.
Happy anniversary to Sony, legendary console.

My favorite game is Contra Shattered Soldier.
And you?

Classic Video Games / About that physical cartridge of Shantae by LRG...

I am surprised how even back then in 2017, LRG had that controversy between their hands, I remember buying a lot of their stuff but after a lot of "interesting" stuff happening I decided to just stop buying their stuff.

I dont want to talk about newest controversies (That there are) if not a bit about that Shantae GBC physical edition.

While I do consider it a nice novelty, I cant take it more seriously, maybe it is the cheaper option for some people get the physical cart and play it on real hardware but after all... it is not that cartridge that goes up for 400$ on ebay, also that purple color of the cart and the box... certainly make it look a lot like a bootleg.

I dont want to talk about the quality itself of the product, I want to believe the cartridge wont catch fire like some other supposedly physical modern reproductions. (Return of Double Dragon, Iam8Bit)

What are your thoughts, guys? I think is a cute idea.... but again... will someone actually feel happy buying this reproduction instead of the extremely expensive, real one?

Modern Video Games / A quick opinion about Battletoads 2020
« on: October 12, 2020, 06:31:00 pm »
START

It seems that 2019 brought back a lot of loved franchise from the 80s and 90s, and one of them was Battletoads, it is certainly special because alongside some small attemps to bring back the franchise, there wasnt a serious attemp until this game.

Talking about the most controversial subject, I dont care at all about the toads designs, I could prefered something more rude and serious like everyone but is okay, at least the animation is pretty varied and it looks like something that someone felt proud of.

The whole story of the game is like a short animation movie with some truly noods to dark humour or controversial subjects, I think it fits the whole concept of Battletoads overall, I certainly laughed a lot with how faceless, the script of the game is sometimes, also I will give it credit that I liked all characters, the three toads and the dark queen has a nice development and all have memorable moments, something I wasnt expecting at all, the ending of the game is certainly cathartic and it ended well if for some reason they never make other game ever again.

The gameplay is like the arcade game with new mechanics, the beat em up part is quick and has a lot of varied enemies and movements, I liked that at least they tried to make something new to a genre that is not very accepted nowadays like is a beat em up, and also at least they put some obstacles and stuff like mini puzzles for make something else that just beat down enemies.

There is also a 3D bike level, a sky level, some platforming levels, a ship game and some minigames, I think most of them are fine, not super great but dont feel like quanty over quality at least in my opinion, reading comments some people truly disliked the minigames but I thought they were like interactive cutscenes instead of something for fill gaps, I dont know, I dont want to overthink a simple smashing button minigame that dont last more that 20 seconds.

Overall, I dont think Battletoads 2020 is a bad game, I certainly think it is a decent enough games with good fun.

The music is good, the animation has a lot of frames and something else that made it feel like someone tried to make it good, the voice acting is truly good, and the story has memorable moments that made me feel both amused and comfortable.

So, yeah, I like Battletoads 2020, it is maybe not a classic, but I think it is worthy game for the franchise and a game that is not bad like some people mentioned.

You are welcome to disagree with me.

Recently it was both the anniversary of Super Mario Bros franchise and Nintendo, so I am not waiting till the next one and I want to write a bit about both.

I have always believed that talk about Nintendo is not interesting at all because we all know the success of the company and failures, its the story that everyone tells, I also dont want to mention that Nintendo is not perfect, its impossible think that a multi billionaire corporation dont screw up from time to time and sometimes they make good deeds.

My favorite part of Nintendo story for videogames is from 1980s to 2006s when the Wii was released, I dont know but for me those years were the more interesting and powerful golden age for Nintendo, the one that has the most inspiring stories, and much more.

About Mario itself I certainly like it, I truly like Mario Land 2 because it feels like Nintendo making something out their comfort zone, they went full balls making it interesting and expanding the Mario lore.

I also think people should stop trying to mention that Mario 64 is overrated because it is not, at the time it was a revolution, the end and beginning of an epoch for Nintendo and the people involded and even nowadays it still feels well designed and with a level of polish some games can just dream.

Did you know that Mario 64 was 100$ in japan at the time? Miyamoto knew it was an expensive price for overseas market, so Nintendo reduced the price to a most appealing 60$, ironic maybe is that 100$ is the price of a CBI copy on ebay.

For all that reasons and more I am happy for celebrate both the anniversary of Nintendo and the Mario franchise.
