FFV is pretty-time consuming depending how long you want to develop your jobs, but I'd recommend a playthrough of the game. Not the best story(depending what version you play, the story can be really boring and flat), but the gameplay and music makes up for that.

And it looks like the announcement will be soon.  Hopefully something cool this year!
Yes, I hope they give away something cool this year in awesomeness like the 2010  Mario Bros Figurine or the 2011 Pins Set.

Someone brought up a cool idea that it could be like an amiibo, maybe some unique one that you can only get as Platinum.  I'd be for that lol
Huh, I never thought of that, I'd be down if they did something like that. From what I heard, many people want better rewards than a CD with a few tracks(2013 reward) or the platinum playing cards from 2012( which I personally think are pretty shiny, and are cool to show to friends at school who've never seen that kind of stuff).

Yeah, this is a really good in depth review about the current status of the Retron 5. I also really like how you broke it down into different categories to explain its current strengths and weaknesses of the product. It's good to see that software component is still improving quite a bit, even if the other aspects of the system fall short. I''ll probably wait to get one when it drops in price.

Classic Video Games / Re: MOST EXPENSIVE GAME!

The most I paid for something with my own money was getting my wii u deluxe set with super mario bros+luigi u, and super mario 3d world last thanksgiving for about $240. My bro and i split it 50-50 since we were both so anxious to get a wii u. Thankfully, i haven't had any regrets about owning the system compared to how bad some people were making it out to be.

I've generally kept most of the games from when i was growing and I only sold a few once at gamestop. I was near broke in 6th grade and really needed cash for school, so i sold a few gamecube games including super mario sunshine, star wars rogue squadron ii, wave race blue storm, and super monkey ball 1+2, and burnout much to the dismay of my younger bro, who burst into tears. However, i kept every other game, and recollected all of the games i sold except for wave race blue storm and burnout.

Yeah man, you should collect at a pace thats works for your interests. Its a good idea to moderate your spending if you find it hard to handle. Its really easy to get hooked onto ebay for good deals but to be honest its makes way too easy to burn through money. In my case, I'm taking a break from buying stuff until September to play what I have and store some money for school. Sometimes taking a break is what we need to reginite our love in a hobby.

General / Re: So why do we care about instructions manuals anyway?
« on: June 26, 2014, 11:21:08 pm »
Although manuals may seem unnecessary for purchase with the game, it does give a fill of completeness to the whole package. In addition, some manuals(notably more 8-16 bit stuff) have official artwork in it without having to buy a supplement art book to see a glimpse of game design art. The manuals serve to complete the whole CIB package most of the time( and for imports, spine cards I feel aren't really necessary for a cib as much as manuals since its not too important to my eyes).

Video Game Auction Watch / Re: GameCube NR Readers on eBay
« on: June 26, 2014, 01:32:07 pm »
Oh man, I would really like something like that for my collection since gamecubes are awesome and those nr readers are pretty interesting dev pieces of equipment. I wish I would have enough money to get one of these, but its out of my price range at the moment.

Waiting for a bunch of Saturn games to come through the mail from ebay, mostly Japanese imports that I've been looking for awhile for my super small Saturn collection.

Hardware and Tech / Re: Modifying a PS2
« on: June 23, 2014, 06:53:45 pm »
They just seem to have a really high price point, which is usually the case for importing Japanese consoles, however importing a ps2 seems to be at a way higher price(compared to American ps2s) and if you use programs such as SwapMagic(put on the memory card or HDD if you have one) you can bypass any region locking for a much cheaper price. It's not really worth it right now to import a ps2 for that kind of money people are trying to sell them for.

My pic is of the SVA 100M Warlock Mk.I from the CPS2 arcade called Armored Warriors, a beat-em-up with mechs that had very limited distribution in the U.S compared to other regions in terms of arcade game copies. I choose it cuz his character sprite stood to me from all of the other bosses in the game,(which is saying something as everything has huge sprites in the game). In addition, his music theme from the first battle is the best out of the three times you battle him throughout the game, and he also appears in cyberbots:full metal madness as the most powerful fighter in the entire game and runs a pure power moveset that works differently than the other characters. So I think he's pretty cool.
