Modern Video Games / Re: I made a PS4 PAL release checklist!

Hmm, i mis the CUSA numbers.

What are CUSA numbers, if you don't mind me asking?

Sony's Item Numbers for their game releases. PlayStation and PS2 games has SCUS and SLUS numbers. PS3 has BCUS and BLUS numbers. PSP had UCUS and ULUS numbers. Vita had PCSA and PCSE numbers before going the number route like PS4. The PS4 had CUSA numbers but then switched to the 7-digit numbers on the spine.

Hope that helps.  ;)

Edit: That's in regards to NA releases anyway. ;)

Ah, thank you! I feel like adding those would be miles out of my ballpark though unfortunately, unless I had every game

Only problem with this list is that the PS4 is still very much so a middle aged console and has a ton of life left in it, meaning many more games will be released on it. Are you planning on just updating it incrementally as new titles are released?

Yeah, I'll be updating it whenever possible, but Idefinitely keep it to at least once a week  :)

Modern Video Games / I made a PS4 PAL release checklist!

Hello fellow PAL collectors!
It's been a while since I've posted here but I'm hoping to get back into things with something I've put quite a bit of time into. I posted it to /r/gamecollecting too so I'll just copy the text from there, starting now:

After posting here a while ago asking whether or not something like this exists, I eventually found out that it basically does not. There are a few lists but they're generally inaccurate, especially for the PAL region, so I did a LOT of cross-referencing and Amazon-based research to create what I believe to he a definitive list of every PS4 game released in the PAL region, with a few exceptions which I put at the top of the spreadsheet.

There's a clean copy herehttps://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1yEplpMJvFZevku7LdCmy-K1ixhwM2LZ6xKDsKp_IB88/edit?usp=drivesdk, just replace the N's with Ys on the games you have and add whatever notes you may have in the sections and it'll figure out how much you have left to get etc.

Of course no list like this is perfect so if I've missed anything don't hesitate to tell me and I'll fix it. I'll be updating the list every week or so to make sure the list is as accurate as possible at all times. I hope I have made a useful resource for at least a few of the people here :)

General / Biggest series to collect?
« on: January 27, 2016, 03:00:11 pm »
Sorry if this has been asked before but does anybody know what the biggest game series to collect is, and, by extension, is there anyone who has the collection complete? I'd guess it's something like Final Fantasy or Mario but I could be wrong.

Modern Video Games / The future of Star Wars games
« on: October 05, 2015, 04:27:27 pm »
With Battlefront coming out, I think we should talk about what the Star Wars game series has to offer in future.
There's the "Uncharted-like" Star Wars game being made by Visceral and a couple mobile games, but what else?
So, what's next? Do you think there'll be a straight tie-in for The Force Awakens like the older movies or will it just be spin-offs for the new trilogy? What might those spin-offs be?

Modern Video Games / Re: Rank your anticipation!

A great idea, but I'm gonna wait until the Sony & Nintendo press conferences to post my list. You never know when something new will pop up or something will become more anticipated based on what's shown. :)

That's a fair shout. I might just update my list if anything else pops up. I just pretty much did the whole ranking thing for myself on Word(I like to visually map my brain out sometimes) but I thought I'd share it with you guys, hence the mid-E3 earliness :P

Modern Video Games / Rank your anticipation!
« on: June 15, 2015, 03:12:18 pm »
So this is a thing I thought would be fun. Take all the games you're looking forward to and rank em, 1-5. The ranking system I've created for this is as follows:

Level 1: Have to have ASAP
Level 2: Super excited
Level 3: "You had my curiosity, but now you have my attention."
Level 4: Somewhat eager anticipation
Level 5: Interested but will wait for a major price drop before buying

My anticipation rankings are here:

LEVEL 1:
Star Wars: Battlefront
DOOM
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5
Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst
No Man’s Sky

LEVEL 2
Mad Max
Shadow Warrior 2
Fallout 4

LEVEL 3
Batman: Arkham Knight
Dishonored 2
Dishonored: Definitive Edition
Just Cause 3

LEVEL 4
Street Fighter V
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

LEVEL 5
Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate
The Division

Hardware and Tech / Rock Band/Guitar Hero compatibility?
« on: June 08, 2015, 05:59:09 pm »
Hey :) Wasn't sure whether to put this in Modern Games or Hardware but since this is more of a hardware-based issue I've put it here.

Anyway, I just bought the Rock Band Special Value Edition for the PS3 which came with the Fender Stratocaster guitar replica and I was wondering whether or not my Rock Band guitar would work with the Guitar Hero games. I have seen the chart that Activision put out on the matter however it seems that only goes up to World Tour, and Rock Band controllers did not work up until World Tour so I'd assume that every Guitar Hero game post-World Tour has Rock Band compatibility? Asking as I want to buy the Metallica and Warriors of Rock games but don't wanna buy even more controllers :P

Thanks :)

Off Topic / Re: What Was The Last Movie/Anime You Watched?
« on: May 26, 2015, 07:41:19 pm »

I'm not seeing a problem with that description. I mean, it is a horror movie.

Yeah, and I totally dig that even the formula I described can be a fun watch if done well but... I dunno. It just wasn't fun to watch at all. Nor was it really scary or disturbing or anything. Hell, it wasn't even so bad that you could just sit back and laugh at it. For fun dumb horror (or any horror for that matter) you could do so much better.

I just watched Wrong Turn 6 and my expectations were low to begin with but JESUS CHRIST this movie was dumb. Not even fun dumb. Just stupid. So stupid, in fact, that I can sum up the plot more or less here;
Teens go to hotel in woods!
Teens have sexy times!
There are cannibals in woods!
Caretakers are weird!
Gore!
Sex!
Gore!
Sex!
Sexy gore!
Gory sex!
Cannibalism!
Everyone is dead yaaay!
MORE SEX

Personally, I just buy games that I wanna play and spend as little money as possible and that works out fine for me  ;D
