what is the first game you ever remember playing?
oh mummy on the Sinclair ZX spectrum+2
-
I want to say it was Donkey Kong Country at my cousin's house
-
I'm about certain it was Pac-Man on the 2600. I know it was either Pac-Man, Stampede, E.T., or Baseball on the 2600.
-
IIRC it was Super Mario Bros 3. Might have been TMNT or Bad News Baseball though.

I think Im a little older than most of the rest of you. I really cant imagine the first game I played. It has to be something on the Atari or the Intellivision or maybe even the Commodore 64.
-
First game I played was on the Atari 2600.
Prolly Empire Strikes Back, Indiana Jones & The Temple of Doom. Possibly Frogger or Carnival. Or Pitfall.
I don't know.
The 1st Nintendo game I played was obviously Super Mario Bros and Duck Hunt. Naturally.
-
Honestly I have no idea, my dad had an Intellivision from the time I was born. I know the first game I excelled at was Shark! Shark! I used to get so many lives that I would just turn it off when I got bored.
-
Kinda interesting reading the replies and seeing how much of a spread there is from Atari era to SNES so far.
-
My dad had a commodore 64 from when I was born. I don't know exactly what was my first game, but as a kid it was probably the C64 Duck Tales.
I remember the first console game I played. It was super mario bros. A kid in my neighborhood had a get together that my sister went to (they were older than me). But I remember seeing Super Mario Bros being played when we picked mt sister up. I could not believe that a game looked like that. At that time I was playing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on C64. Mario was just on a whole different level. I got a chance to play it and have been hooked since.
-
My dad got a snes the same year I was born, I'm thinking it was Super Mario World than Mario Bros./Duck hunt at my aunts on her nes
-
At my aunt and uncles house. Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt. Back in '87.
-
Another vote for SMB/Duck Hunt. Received the NES as a Christmas gift from my Grandparents, hooked it up to their stylin' 80's TV (which was badass because it had a remote), and played SMB & Duck Hunt with my dad.

I think me & you are close in age, buddy :P
Anyhow, on a home console = Breakout (on the "Atari w/ a paddle" system I can never remember the name of:) and for a "not-at-home" console...it would probably be playing pinball or air hockey in a bar somewhere...
...if those don't count than pick an arcade game - I was playing 'em all around the same time!
-
The first games I remember playing are Atari 400 games - Joust, Pacman and Zorro specifically.
-
wow that was so loong ago... I would have to say I was 5 and my Dad bought a Tandy Computer from RadioShack and the game was Ghost 'N Goblins.. Though we sold the Tandy to our neighbors because no one in the family knew how to use it an then bought a Commodore64/128 but the tape deck is missing still have the Disk Drive controllers book and games though!
-
Mine would probably be Dragster or Pac-Man on the Atari 2600.
-
My first game I have ever played was the original Super Mario Bros. when I was about 3 or 4 with my mom. on the other hand the first game I personally owned to call my own was for my 5th birthday and was Scooby-Doo Mystery for the SNES and I played the hell out of that game.
-
Not sure what my first game was necessarily, but I first played games on my dad's C64 & Amiga from the time I can even remember. Also played a lot of games on the Atari 2600 and NES (I remember Castlevania most). My dad repaired arcade cabs too, so I spent a lot of time standing on stools playing Pac-Man and countless others. :)

My 1st game system was the Atari 2600 (sears model) bought by my grandfather then we also got Pac-Man, Combat, Frogger, Kangaroo and Pheonix. and now I own 432 Atari games. lol
Still own that system to this day and it works great. Yet I replaced my Xbox 360 five times.

Lol that's modern technology for you.
Also that is an awesome collection!

I can't remember if I played first at my mother or father's house. If it was at my mother's, either Mission: Impossible or Gorf on the C64. If it was at my dad's, then Hunt the Wumpus on what Texas Instruments system Radio Shack sold.
Come to think of it, that TI system is probably up in the attic, box and inserts and all.
-
I'm a lot younger than all of you, my first game was The Legend Of Zelda Wind Waker.
-
My first system was a hand-me-down 2600 from my older cousins, but I think the first game I played was probably Super Mario Bros (also with my cousins). One of my best early gaming memories was watching my older cousins playing the original Zelda, it blew my mind at the time!
-
First game ever huh? A little foggy on that one but I know for sure it was on the atari 2600 and I think it was either haunted house or Indy 500.
-
the first pc game i played was learning in toyland
the first console game i played was mario kart 64 and super mario 64
-
Moon Patrol on the 2600 .
-
My dad video taped me at 3 years old playing Pac-Man for the 2600.
-
Mine was on the C64. Though I cant remember which was the first. But regaurdless which one it was I still have my entire c64 collection in box and packages from my childhood. Im guessing though it was ghostbusters
-
Not sure exactly, but it was either Combat or Pac Man on the 2600. They were both pack in games I believe.

I'm pretty sure this is child abuse :D
