So after work, I got a call from my sister. She was sick as hell, so I had to run her some food, since she didn't have anything in the house. While I was back in Midland, I decided to check the 2 game stores I used to go to and see if they had a cheap copy of Earthworm Jim.

The first store was a bust, but, I strolled passed the PS2 section and something caught my eye. I did a double take, and saw Mobile Light Force 2 sitting there. CIB and for $3 too! Yoink! Sure it's an utterly stripped down version of Shikigami no Shiro. But, I've been wanting to get it for awhile.  Now I just need Mobile Light Force 1 (Gunbird). They also had Super Tennis there and for $.98 who can go wrong?

After that, I decided to hit up the other store for grins and ended up walking out w/ EWJ for SNES for $10!

Plus, a dude gave me $5 at work for saving his ass w/ parts for his trailer. So it's like I only paid $8 for everything, ha.

Aww. And here I thought I'd be the one getting that game first. :P

Nice finds. The local shops have been incredibly dry lately.

i love how the first one has the same cover.

It's also in some generic feeling PS2 case. It's black and has a texture to it too... I'm thinking it's the legit case, cause the art, book and disc are all in there. So, ya.

Garage sales were a complete dud this weekend.  Closest thing I almost picked up was a copy of Spyro (PS1) until I noticed the disc was cracked.  I found a nice Genesis model 2 CIB, but they wanted $50 for it.

The only thing I did pick up this weekend was 2 Xbox360 original hard drives.  Not sure how big they are, or if they even work, but I only paid $4 each for them so I figured it's worth the gamble.

Gah, it's June already? Kicking off my month with Conquest: Frontier Wars and Dark Reign + Expansion on GOG. Only $7.39!

Not a game, but I also picked up a new 2TB Western Digital Black HDD during a Newegg sale for only $135, so now I can finally install my entire PC game collection :D

Edit: Ah, add F.E.A.R. 2 for $3.00 to that list. Sales ftmfw.

Other than #2, Mega Man 5 is my favorite in the series. Nice find as it's a pricey one! (And #6 is for that matter.)

its probably extremely rare as well because most demo cartridges were destroy after they were no longer needed and nintendo is notorious for destroying demo and event related items ,  just look up nintendo powerfest 94 and  nintendo campus challenge

Here's a pic of yesterday's stuff:

And here's what I found today:

Beavis and Butthead (Genesis) CIB - $3
FX Fighter (PC, sealed, super budget version) - $1.50
Twisted Mini Golf (PC, sealed, super budget version) - $1.50

The two super budget versions are from a company called "CompuPrizes", which sold these games over the internet like ten years back. They sold a combination of shareware and full versions, and I'm pretty sure these are full versions, but I have to play them to be sure.

Napalm (NAM), PC, CD in case - $1
Spec Ops Stealth Patrol (PS1, sealed) - $1
Running Wild (PS1) - $1
Pro Pinball Fantastic Journey - $1
GameShark 2 v1.1 (disc scratched, hope it works) - $2

The GameShark's going to be sold on eBay. I thought Napalm was a sequel to NAM, but it's the same game! NAM was just the title the game had for fuddy-duddy stores like WalMart. Ugh. Ah well!

I got The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for Wii, in the case, with the manual for $3.99 at Goodwill today! In good shape! Hell yeah! That's a good find!

The only downside being that the back-artwork is a rental case with the store-printed instructions; but with the normal front artwork. Yet strangely enough, the disc didn't have any rental stickers or markings.

Today was a very good day at Goodwill for me!  ;D Check out the comic book thread to see what other insane find I got today at Goodwill.

Picked up Astro Warrior, Casino Games, Fantasy Zone II and Fantasy Zone: The Maze for the Master System. I also have Golvellius: Valley of Doom, Space Harrier 3D, Ghost House, My Hero and Great Volleyball on order. Once those come in I'll lack 26 games from completing the US release run for the SMS.

I was adventuring around the state for the first part of the week.  I didn't find much, but I did pick up:

Star Fox 64 Promo VHS (sealed)
Lost Vikings (Genesis)
Buzz Lightyear (Dreamcast)
Lost in Shadow (Wii)

I'm really excited about Lost in Shadow.  It looks like a really cool game.  You play as a shadow in the background and have to adjust lights to solve puzzles.  I'm interested.  I figured for my curiosity is worth $10

Then after a long time of nothing, found....
PS3 - God of War Collection ($10)
NDS - Marvel Trading Card Game ($3)
This guy had some decent PS1 titles but wanted $20 each  :P

Then after many sales of nothing or overpriced PS3 & 360 games. Finally hit a jackpot!!!

Heres what I got. All at $5 unless listed.

- PTO 2
- Prince of Persia 2
- Rampart
- Rise of the Pheonix
- Ultraman
- Young Merlin
 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Then stopped at a local game store and they where getting rid of all their GameGear games for $1 each. So I picked up...

Not really pre-ordered, but, I just ordered these (3) OST's (from Ziondood's sale items):

1).  Castlevania/Ecclesia,

2).  Crono Cross, and

3).  Legend of Mana

I'm totally unfamiliar w/ Castlevania & its music -so- whatever it is (good or bad), it will be interesting to get my 1st 'Listen' to the series' music,

and, the other 2 (CC & Mana...*Especially* CC; though) - I've been hearing for ages about the quality of their music, so, I'm *really* looking forward to giving these a listen :)

I'm just not the type to go bouncing around youtube trying to find/hear songs, so, this works out pretty well for me  8)

Picked up a few games yesterday and on the way to work this morning:

360:
Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY (GH)

PS2:
Dark Cloud
Mister Mosquito (happy to find this one, since I was looking for this after watching Game Grumps play it) :D

GBA:
Namco Museum
Super Mario Advance 4
Centipede/Breakout/Warlords
Polly Pocket something
Dora the Explorer something
Strawberry Shortcake something

Yeah I know, but I couldn't pass up GBA games for 50ยข even if they're for 6 year old girls.  I figure my kids might enjoy them if I have girls, or I might give them to my nieces.

Mister Mosquito (happy to find this one, since I was looking for this after watching Game Grumps play it) :D

Hahaha!

I'm glad to see this "under-the-radar", little-known, and unassuming little gem getting some love & attention  ;D

I, myself, only found/heard about it by reading one of those "Least known -but- really fun and/or original games" articles  8)

If I'm not mistaken, the game also has either a prequel or as sequel that was JP-release only  ;)

@Kimimi -

Have you played/do ya know anything about the game(s)?!

@Kimimi -

Have you played/do ya know anything about the game(s)?!

Oops sorry, didn't pop on yesterday :(

I don't know much - there are two of them (the sequel's called Ka 2 - Japan only) and you play as a mosquito. Err.... sorry, I'm all over the place today :S

Anyway... Disgaeniac - I'm massively jealous of your soundtrack purchases! I'd love to own more (again), but I can't afford as many as I'd like :(

I've actually bought/preordered some things now, so I can post in this topic - yay!

Preordered -

Final Fantasy XIV Limited Edition (PC)
Final Fantasy XIV: Before Meteor (Soundtrack CD)

Bought -
Sonic Pocket Adventure (NGPC)
Sturmwind (DC)
Kingdom Grand Prix (Saturn)
Silhouette Mirage (Saturn)

I'd be happy to hear about the FF XIV: Before Meteor soundtrack...once you've had a chance to give your copy a listen, Kimimi  ;D

Do you know which composer(s) worked on it?
Title: Re: June 2013 - Recently Added to Collection/ Recently Purchased
Post by: kimimi on June 08, 2013, 11:05:30 am
Well it's "just" a complete collection of FFXIV v1.0's music (100+ tracks) + the ending FMV in HD with 5.1 surround sound, a load of art and an in game pet, so as far as the music's concerned it's not anything I haven't heard before.. but that's why I jumped at it!

The composers are - Nobuo Uematsu, Masayoshi Soken, Tsuyoshi Sekito, Naoshi Mizuta, Ryo Yamazaki. Soken's the lead composer going forward IIRC

I found something weird at the dollar store - a copy of The Spiderwick Chronicles for PC. They had several, brand new, but instead of the usual cardboard boxes that Sierra used in that time period, this was in a DVD case. It also had no UPC code.

I dug around and apparently this version of the game was sold along with the movie's DVD at Wal-Mart of all places. It was an exclusive release at the store. Of course the DVDs were nowhere to be seen so whoever dumped these at the dollar store probably ran off with them. :P

Started exploring the shops of Dallas. Nothing really out of the usual. Went to FX Game Xchange. They had a decent amount of Dreamcast with average retail prices. Had a few rarer games but nothing where the price was right. I ended up walking out with a copy of Wacky Races. I always wanted to try that and Looney Tunes Space Race.

A good weekend hitting garage sales for me:

GB
Donkey Kong Land 2
Lime Game Boy Color (missing battery cover)

PS2
Soul Calibur III

GC
Super Monkey Ball 2
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door

A box of 2600/Colecovision games for $2!
2600:
Breakout
Berzerk
Missile Command
Entombed
ET
Combat (2)
Air Sea Battle
Demon Attack
3D Tic Tac Toe
Space Invaders

CV:
Smurfs
Space Fury
Super Action Baseball
Chuck Norris Superkicks

Plus 2 games with the labels ripped off, 1 Activision 2600 game and 1 Odyssey 2 game.

The best find of the day:
Die Hard (NES).  I was so excited to find this one, in a lot at a garage sale for $125.  I already had everything else in that lot, so I asked if I could buy the single game.  She initially said no, but I asked again and she said she'd sell it to me for $10 and I happily said yes :D

I picked up this little beauty last night:
(http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb141/jcalder8/P6110006_zpsee2c48a4.jpg) (http://s210.photobucket.com/user/jcalder8/media/P6110006_zpsee2c48a4.jpg.html)

The guy was selling this and 5 games, he was asking 200. He lowered the price to 150 with the games. So I offered 70 for just the system and then we settled on 90. I then asked about the box and manuals which he still had! Score! I love it so far but I will need to buy a bigger memory card for it since I only have the 4 gig at the moment.

Still hitting the PC crackpipe hard lately. I might've mentioned some of these before, but not 100% sure, since I've basically just been faceplanting into any big sale I run across and making out like a bandit.

- Alan Wake
- Alan Wake's American Nightmare
- Batman: Arkham Asylum - Game of the Year Edition
- Batman: Arkham City - Game of the Year Edition
- Brutal Legend
- The Cave
- Chantelise
- Company of Heroes 2
- Costume Quest
- Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind - Game of the Year Edition
- Fortune Summoners: Secret of the Elemental Stone
- Iron Brigade
- Jade Empire: Special Edition
- The Last Remnant
- Psychonauts
- Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale
- Rome: Total War - Gold Edition (Only a freaking dollar!)
- Silent Storm: Gold Edition
- Sid Meier's Civilization V - Gold Edition
- Stacking
- Trine
- Trine 2

Oh, and all the Dishonored DLC was on sale the other day, so I grabbed it all in one go :D

Decided to start upgrading 360 games I have to PC versions whenever possible too, given that I suspect Xbox Live will completely drop access to DLC and patches in short order once the Xbox One hits.

^ Dang those are some good games! Most of those I played on XBox, though.

If you're a metal fan, you'll completely fall in love with Brutal Legend. The Batman Arkham games are some of the best comic games, nay, some of the best games, period, ever. Jade Empire is a fantastic and unique RPG. And Morrowind stole many hours from my life.

Picked up Snatcher  8) ...

on the Sega Saturn  ::) I'm really looking forward to playing it though. Won it shipped from Japan for $11. A lot better than the 250 for Sega CD. I'm able to play through and understand Policenauts with my limited Japanese knowledge. Looking forward to doing the same with Snatcher!

Yeah, I scored pretty good. There was a great deal on all the Double Fine games on amazon, plus a slew of sales on Steam, GOG, and Green Man Gaming, so I figured I'd indulge while I can :)

I actually own or have played some of these games before, though. Jade Empire was great on Xbox, but I'm really anxious to see the improved visuals on PC, and Arkham is... well, I have gripes about the combat system, but I really can't resist the atmosphere. They really nailed it when it comes to making it feel like you're sucked into the world of Batman.

As for Morrowind, I still can't believe I haven't played it before. Played Daggerfall way back when, blasted through Oblivion, played Skyrim... just never got around to Morrowind, for some reason. Been curious on Brutal Legend, too. The demo I tried awhile back was great, but the comments about the RTS sections kinda put me off until I saw that bundle pop up. Very charming game from what I did play, though.

Found a PS2 in a Goodwill yesterday.  It was $40, but it was Blue Tag Day.  All Blue Tag items are half price.  I'll take a PS2 with 2 controls and 2 memory cards for 20 bones.  Now, I'm a guy that isn't a Sony fan at all that has all 3 Playstations and thinking about preording #4.

On the same trip, I got more than a little excited when I saw Super Smash Bros Melee with a $3 tag on it.  Turns out some bastard stole the disc from Goodwill.  The bright side is they gave me a very nice case, manual, and inserts for nothing.

Sucks when someone does that.  Or when they take one of the discs from a multi-disc game.  I found disc 2 of Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes (GC) at a pawn shop floating around, but disc 1 and the case were nowhere to be found.

I did that with my Zelda Wind waker. I got the case, manual, all inserts and even the guide for free cause the game was stolen out ... then I got lucky and found the game disk only in a lot. :) Also, Goodwill has a bad habit of having the games stolen/lost. The ones around here put the disks in a big binder and are still almost never there. I think its an employee issue. Ironically, the last game I bought at a Goodwill was SSB Melee for $3 myself. :D

This Movie Trading Company you keep bringing up sounds quite awesome. You should post some pics of the place, sometime. I have a place that sells classic games and movies, but nothing rare ever and she keeps the prices according to Amazon so you're really not saving money, either.

And MetalJesusRocks is awesome!

Went to Movie Trading Company. Picked up:

Zillion (SMS CIB)
Second Sight (XBox)
Grand Theft Auto III (XBox)
Otogi 2 (XBox)
Taito Legends (XBox)

I'll try to post pics of some of the places I've been going. Movie Trading Company is actually a chain. If you've ever heard of Vintage Stock, it's the same thing. They just have a different name in Texas. It's huge and mainly picked over. But it is really good for two things specifically, 1) the last generation. A plethora of XBox games can be found for $5. Same with PS2 and Gamecube 3) CIB games. They don't have a lot. But they don't up the price because it has the box. Other than that, you are generally paying retail.

There is a place called FX Game Xchange that has quite a few Dreamcast games. It is a quality used game store. OK prices.

Entertainmart is really good for modern stuff. Great prices and baffling huge. This would be a good one for pictures.

But the deals Dallas/Fort Worth Metro seem to mainly be in Flea markets and Bazaars. If you want an idea about the area, watch the Game Chasers on youtube. Most of their episodes take place here.

Now the store I miss is Thrillhouse Games in Tulsa, OK. Only place I've seen with an entire rack of Turbo Grafx 16 games. I've seen multiple CDX systems. And amazing prices. I am going to have to make a road trip back to Tulsa just for that place.

We don't have either Vintage Stock or Movie Trading Company in Northern California. I wish we did. I've seen Gamester81's video of Vintage Stock, and it looks awesome. It looks like it's specifically catered to me! Video games, comics, music, and memorabelia!

We have Vintage Stock stores here in OKC. They are great to visit. I know most of the employees by face when I walk in.

As far as Thrillhouse : http://www.nintendoage.com/index.cfm?FuseAction=Users.Home&User=tiptopjames is the owner/operator of it. He is a pretty good guy. You can always hit him and make deals with him on Nintendo Age.

Cool. Thanks for the info. Before I moved to Dallas, I would stop in there weekly. He always held SEGA stuff for me to check out since I was one of the few (possibly only) SEGA collectors in the area.  And, yes, he is a very good guy.

Went to FX Game Xchange and got a decent deal on a Master System Bundle

All games are CIB minus a few which are missing instructions. It cost $100 which is not a great deal by any means. But considering I would have to get most SMS games through ebay. It comes out to about the shipping fee per game ($3.57 per game). So, I reasoned it to myself that way. Plus, I just got a new job, so this is a kind of celebration gift to myself.  8)

Astro Warrior
Aztec Adventure
Black Belt
Black belt
Thunder Blade
Thunder Blade
Time Soldiers
Transbot
Super Tennis
Rocky
Great Golf
Great Football
Rescue Mission
Hang On Safari Hunt
Casino Games
Gangster Town
Choplifter
Choplifter
Maze Hunter 3d
Alien Syndrome
Zaxxon 3d
Reggie Jackson Baseball
Rambo
Outrun
Missle Defense 3d
Double Dragon
Wonder Boy in Monster Land

What's with the NES controller in all your pictures, if you don't mind me asking. Is it like a signature?

I can technically get a GOG backup key again, but I dunno if they'd let me. :P

Yes it is my signature. I carry it with me where ever I go also. I am not sure why as I hate the colors of it. I also hope to recap and LED mod my Game Gears and get them working. I can do the work I just can't find the caps without ordering online.

Really? They seemed fairly common. Does radioshack not cary caps any more. I mean, for all I know, they may be nothing but a cell phone reseller now. Actually, that wouldn't surprise me at all. It would be a shame though.

there's a site I use when refurbishing handhelds that carries a cap replacement kit for the gamegear. Its 10 bucks. might be a little high for some capacitors but its convenient.

That's the thing. Capacitors are pretty cheap. Cheap enough that a pack to replace the GG caps for $10 is showing a massive markup. But it sucks to just buy a handful of caps from Mouser or the like. A possible bet is to go ahead and stock up on GG caps and then undercut the $10 guys by a lot...

Gotta watch the budget very closely, since I handed in my resignation at work last week (today's my last day, woo!), but I did pick up Deus Ex: GOTY Edition, System Shock 2, Fallout, and Fallout 2 during GOG's massive sale that's going on right now. Too good to pass up, even though I have most of them on disc already - it's just much easier to get GOG versions running under Win 7 :)

Any promising new prospects for work?

I think so, though it's a bit early to tell. Off-hand, about 5 potential places, each with someone referring me, but I'm going for the one I want most either after work or early tomorrow morning, which would involve doing remote desktop support. Trying not to get my hopes up, but there's a strong possibility that I'll get that and be technically employed again within a few business days. Fingers crossed, anyway :)

It's a bit irresponsible to resign without a guaranteed job, but after 2 1/2 years at this place, I really can't take it anymore. Totally 100% burnt out, and I need to escape the call center grind in a bad way.

I bought it to resell, but it doesn't seem to sell at all on eBay. :(

Well, not the super find of the century but I picked up a few new guides for $1 each at the Goodwill. FF VIII and FF IX, Zelda phantom hourglass and twilight princess, Parasite eve, Metroid echoes 2, and Metroid fusion/prime combo. The 2 FF ones and the twilight princess are condition upgrades and the other 4 I didnt even have. They all looked brand new and if there was a poster with them, they are still attached.

I collected guides for a different reason for a long time : cause they were necessary. Way before the interwebz was all the cool stuff, the only way to find something that was hidden pretty well was to call a long distance number and ask for help or look it up in the guide. Now I just like having them as a part of the game itself.

Killer deal on those SNES and GC games!  I've kept my eye out for a copy of TMNT IV, but I never see one out in the wild, at least not for under $25.  I'm hoping to find a copy of Luigi's Mansion and it too has kinda sploded in price ($25-$30) lately.  As a launch title, I figured it would remain cheap.

As always, your finds make me jealous :D

I got lucky today. While scanning Craigslist I saw a ad pop up for 19 NES 8-bit games. There were no pictures but I called the guy. He told me the first to his house gets them and that he has had a few calls. I hop in the car and head out. He was only about 15 mins from me. I get there and knock and he comes out and said man your fast. I asked him if he still had it and he brought them out and handed all this to me.

It looked as if it was left uncovered in his attic after a cup of hot chocolate spilled on the carts. Please don't get me wrong I am not complaining. I already had 10 and I don't collect boxes. Wall Street Kid is missing the paper inserts and instruction manual but still has the plastic bag.

There isn't really anything great but it was free and I really like the storage case.

That Firehawk is in great condition ... most of the time those Camerica games look like someone tried to clean the paint off them. I have a few of those games that look horrible.

And Turf is right ... free is good even if they do look like shit. :) If nothing else, you can toss the ones you dont want into the pay it forward thread and Im sure a few people would be willing to take a couple off your hands. I wish I didnt have some of those or I would take one myself! :P

Man, am I glad I sold Radiant Historia when I did. Looks like it's dropped in value, and I found the story to be completely dull and boring, focused on politics and military tactics. When I sold it, I got nearly $50.

I picked up a few games this afternoon

Bard's Tale NES $5
Galaxy 2000 NES $5
Goof Troop SNES $10

The sad part about this story is while I was shooting the bull with the guy at the game store, he let me in on the fact that they had sold Little Samson a little while earlier for $80.  That was a kick in the gut.

Yep. And I'd I had gotten over there sooner it would have been me.

A few years ago this store regularly had Little Samson. I saw it more than once, but wouldn't spend $50 on it. I'm such a dumbass.

I'm sure I will, Went out today but seemed every sale I hit the resellers beat me to it.
Everyone was telling me some guy with a scanner bought everything. (sigh) Can't beat them everyday.  :P
And if you lived near me I'd be happy to a gamer/collector tag along on my hunts.
Just picked up a few PS3/PSP games cheap.

PS3 (paid $3-$6 on these games)
- Sonic Unleashed
- Infamous 2
- Lego Batman 2
- Lego Lord of the Rings
- Star Wars: Force Unleashed II (CE) even had usb flash drive
- Nascar 09
- Blazing Angels

- PSP
- God of War: Ghost of Sparta (sealed) $5

Wii
Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition ($3)

Then stopped at a local game store and picked up these.
SNES - Acme Animation Factory
GG - Caesars Palace
GG - Ren & Stimpy
GG - Pengo
GG - Super Space Invaders
NDS - Final Fantasy IV

I have a game store in my area that caps all video games at $75, so if they got in Little Samson they would have it at about that price too. Unfortunately many of the employees there grab up those games  :-\
They have had EVO, Harvest Moon, Earthbound, Secret Scout(nes), Bubble Bobble 2(nes) and more and they always get sold to an employee.

Thanks to everyone for the support, and yes I still need a few Barbie games for PS2, they would go great with my many other barbie games.  ::)
I think I have found a couple of those other Barbie games but I passed them up, Shoot i'd be over 1000 now if I just bought every PS2 games I ever found I didn't have. But I usually pass if they are incomplete, disc/insert/book is in bad shape or overpriced.
And did you know there is one Barbie game that is considered rare and sells for $20-$50?
Also I've only found a PAL game once at a garage sale and it was Barbie and the 12 Princesses (no I didn't buy it).

These are what I call "filler titles". Games I don't really care to play but I can check them off my list. (mostly kids and sport games)  heck my PS2 shelf only holds about 700 games, so I only display the games People want to play. The rest are in a closet.

I got The Witcher for only $9.99 at Target with a gift card I got for my birthday.

Glad I found it, because Target's electronics department selection is freaking pathetic. I wanted to get a CD, but the "Rock" (also metal) section wasn't even an entire half of an aisle. I eneded up also getting a copy of Batman Beyond: Return of The Joker on DVD.

So I recently got an offer for my Saturn collection, a very good offer.  Sold off about 150 titles and both my systems.  I've been playing the thing for years, played through almost all the titles and tons of imports.  What a wonderful system!  But it's time to start on something fresh, I'm now working on PS1.  I wanted to concentrate on another system with tons of import options, so it was ps1 or ps2.  I decided to go with ps1, it's the system I had in high school.  Here are my newest pickups!

I actually had a pretty decent haul at the Screw Attack Gaming Con. This surprised me given the prices I saw. But there was a booth with some SMS games toward the back. They weren't listed at that great or bad of prices. But I decided to ask if I took 6 games, would he take $20 for them. I considered this a fair offer. And the seller took it. I think he knew that it is a seller's market for Nintendo and Sony. But nobody but a few care about the master system. He even said, he'd like to see someone pick up the games for the forgotten system. Anyways, for $20:

Fantasy Zone
Zillion 2
Columns
Dick Tracy
Altered Beast
The Ninja

The Ninja actually plays like a shmup, but instead of a spaceship shooting lasers, you are a ninja shooting throwing stars. It's a nice game.

I also picked up several DVDs and got them signed. I don't really care about DVDs or autographs. Especially for youtube people. But I kind of consider them similar to going to an indie band concert. If you like them, buy something of theirs because that is their living and devoted a lot of time. Anyways, I got the following signed:

Talking Classics with Keith Apicary - I'm not a big fan (at least before), but he is the nicest guy. He was always on the show floor or in the game room talking with people. After seeing and meeting with the guy, I can't help but like him. He unfortunately broke his ankle, though (or at least damaged it really bad. He jumped from the balcony during his music show, proceeded to do the whole show hopping on one foot with a stage full of fans, then went to the hospital in a wheelchair.
AVGN DVD - Signed by James Rolfe and Mike Mattei. James was just super busy the whole show. Any time I saw him in the hall he was always walking really fast getting somewhere. Seemed nice, but definitely the most popular guy there. Mike Mattei was awesome. From the AVGN videos it always seemed like James was the guy who knew the most. This definitely seems to be an act. It seems a lot of the games come from Mike's collection and he is definitely the collector. I gained a lot of respect for the guy.
Pat the NES Punk - I was a big fan of the videos he did and got it signed. No revelations about the guy though.

Biggest surprise = Nathan Barnatt/ Keith Apicary. Also I was surprised at how much I liked listening to Adam Sessler and Jim Stirling. Those are some smart/funny guys.

I'm now 2 games away from 50 sms games. A few weeks ago I only had 17. But man, I've found some good deals. I'm near 50% of the US library now. I might hit up EBay...

Only one game this weekend.  Found at a garage sale:

Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy Kong's Quest - Factory sealed!!!

Paid $50 for it.  I couldn't justify the price when I first saw it, but I looked up its value when I got home (no smartphone) to make sure I wasn't overpaying and went back to pick it up along with an N64 they had for $10.  They suspected I looked it up and asked what it was worth; 3 of the 4 box edges (spines) were moderately bent, so I said in this condition around $75.  It's probably more accurately about $125-$150 based on what I saw on eBay -- so I spent the rest of the day feeling guilty for telling them it was only selling for $75 :(  I still feel bad about it.

Not counting my recent indie bundle purchases...

Left Behind 3: Rise of the Antichrist for PC. Brand new, cost me a dollar. I already have parts one and two, and now I'm only missing part four (which apparently exists?)

Thanks a lot for the feedback, buddy! :)

Went to the mall to get my glasses repaired (nerd alert!). And decided to swing into gamestop. Wasn't hassled at all. Was asked if I had the power club thing. I said no and he rung me up. Anyways, now is a good time to start on those PS3 and 360 collections. There was a whole bin of games under $10. I picked up

Bayonetta
Ghostbusters

I want to finish out my 360 sega collection and Bayonetta is a must. And who has two thumbs and likes Ghostbuster? This guy. Plus, I remember James Rolfe talking about the new Ghostbusters game and mentioning it's not too bad. I'm planning to revisit the SMS version and will finish it out with the new 360 game. Plus, Ghostbusters movie marathon!

It's been about 4 years since I played it, but Ghostbusters on the 360 was a blast.  I went through it pretty quick. I don't remember much about it, other than it being a lot of fun.

Picked up Urban Strike for game gear. This is arguably the rarest standard release game on Game Gear (I would argue that). It took me a while to even find it (I found it at a movie trading Company for $20 once), then it even longer to find it for a good price. But I picked it up on ebay for $4 shipped. Little much for a Game Gear game. But, it is one of the big hurdles for the set.

Now... for Mega Man. A game that isn't that rare. But those damn Mega Man collectors drive up the price.  >:(

Nah.

Odds are that it will be (at least) months until I get around to playing it.

But, the few (3 - 4) reviews that I've read of it were all pretty positive.

I'd say get it asap - I've already seen it hit $100 from some on-line "resellers"  :o

Then slowly put back what I didn't want. Not sure what he grabbed, but I lost at least five DS games. I've walked onto sales and people where going through the games and waited my turn, why do these Resellers feel they have right to be rude and grab stuff while I'm looking at them. (sigh)

Another item I saw and thought was really neat but didn't buy was a Full Size Gundam Slot Machine.

When someone tries that shit on me I grab their wrist and go "Excuse me?" Most of the time they get so freaked out they walk away.

And when I see someone looking through a box, I ask, "May I?" or "Have you already checked this bundle out, may I look at those or are you going to buy them?", and nobody ever says no. See, kids? Being polite helps.

Home from another day of sales, and again I had to deal with a rude reseller.

Picked up a few PC games that where CIB or sealed. While I'm not a PC collector they where so cheap they might be a good trading piece.
- The 7th Guest
- Wing Commander III
- Rift (sealed)
- Halo
- Quake 4

Found some more DS games.
- Cake Mania 2
- I Spy Funhouse
- Julie Finds a Way
- Puzzle Quest

PSP
Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth
Star Ocean: First Departure (sealed)

Xbox
Crimson Skies (.50c)

NGC
Donkey Kong Jungle Beat with Drums (CIB) $1

A complete shell (even top and bottom plates and tray cover) for a Xbox 360 Halo 3 Edition. ($1)
Using it as a display piece  :P

An original Game Boy advance (black) toys r us exclusive and an NES for $10

Atari 400/800 carts
- Boulders and Bombs
- Mountain King
- Soccer
- Frogger
- Asteroids
- Dig Dug

and last the reseller I wanted to kill. lol
I stopped at a sale and they had a SNES lot, it had both model 1 & 2 systems and about 30 games. I asked the lady how much and she didn't know so she called her husband on the phone to find out a price, as I was waiting a reseller showed up that I knew all to well. He saw the lot and asked if he could go through it, I told him sorry I'm looking to buy this so no. So of course he was trying to look at everything with out moving me then he stood right next to me and wouldn't leave. Then the Lady came back and said she could sell it all for $60, so I get out my wallet and the reseller starts to try and outbid me yelling "I'll pay $75!" I give him a dirty look and luckily the lady ignored him or didn't hear him and took my money. ;D
As I was leaving I told the guy, "I wouldn't Do that to you", and he said "yes you have". Then I asked him to tell me when and he paused and thought a second then said "sorry". (least he apologized) And this is why people in my area hate the resellers.
some of the games and the Model 2 I'm selling to my game buddies and others going in my trade box. Games included;
- Donkey Kong Country
- Super Mario Kart
- TMNT IV (2 copies)
- Mario Paint with mouse & board (3 copies of the game including a players choice version)
- Earthworm Jim
- Earthworm Jim 2
- Mortal Kombat 3
- Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3
- Super Mario World
- Street Fighter II
- Monopoly
- Batman Forever
- and several crappy sport titles.
heres What went in my collection
- Kyle Petty's No Fear Racing (CIB)
- Star Trek The Next Generation
- Roger Clemens MVP Baseball
- Super Tecmo Bowl

Over all a decent day.

I found a old Sears Silvertone acoustic guitar for $13 at one of the Goodwills so at least I found something fun.

The GameStop price is $70 +tax. eBay looks to be around $100. So yeah, it's $20-$25 cheaper. I'm going to keep it. I've been trying to pick up the Wii games that are good/different enough to be something special in a few years. Call it speculating, but some of these games will be hard to find. This will be one I will wish I had picked up.

If you want one go to GameStop and see if they'll find you one for you. It's $70, but the guys at the local store found this one in another store and they shipped it up here.

Picked up a lot this week. Including a fishing game by Atlus:

Dreamcast:
Skies of Arcadia

Game Gear:
Urban Strike

360:
Alpha Protocol

XBox:
Madden 2005
NCAA 2007
DeathRow
GunMetal
Enter the Matrix
Unreal Championship
Splinter Cell
MechAssault
R: Racing Evolution
Deus Ex Invisible War
Max Payne
Pro Fishing Challenge

I decided to finally live the advice I give and collect for the 6th and 7th generation of consoles. I went to Entertainmart and bought nothing but 2.99 and under games. Including Pro Fishing Challenge. It's a fishing game by Atlus. I heard a podcast talking about the game a year or so ago. And I've been on the lookout for it ever since. Found it mega cheap and with the great cover:

I picked up skies of arcadia for $20 and Urban strike for $4.

Just got back from visiting my grandparents.  Found some good deals and passed the 400 mark on my collection.  I picked Ken Griffey Jr Presents Major League Baseball for number 400 since its Baseball season and I was wearing my Mariners hat when I found it.
Found these at a pawn shop:

PC:
Wizardry VII CD ROM version $1
Daggerfall Demo $1

Found the rest at the Play n Trade where I found Wayne's World last summer

SNES:
Home Improvement $4.99 !!!
Mario is Missing $4.99
Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball $2.99

N64:
Ken Griffey Jr. Slugfest

Atari 2600:
Cosmic Creeps

I decided a while ago that when I get to 400 games I am going to fill in all the missing information on my collection for the database so I will start that when the site is updated.

Not much here.
Saturn-Darius Gaiden 6.97
Saturn-Battle Arena Toshinden URA 4.97
Gamecube-F-Zero GX 4.97
NES-Bayou Billy 2.97
N64-WCW vs NWO Revenge .99
NES-Metal Storm .99

Disc games complete.  Carts are just cart only, all but Metal Storm were in good shape.  It has some pretty bad label wear but at .99 I can't complain a whole lot.
