The two have spoken. It's now may and its time to go out to flea markets and yard sales. Show us what you brought home!
-
I disagree with this. I think there are quite a bit of finds within the span of a month from multiple users that span 15+ pages for each thread. I think a general yearly thread is better suited for best finds of the year, but that's my opinion.
-
Let's keep with the monthly one. Yard sales are about to kick off. You've been here for the slow time. Shit can get crazy in the summer.
If you wanna change the subject line, that would be great

I picked up Rhythm Heaven on DS at a used game store. When I got home, I realized it's actually the PAL version (which incidentally, is titled Rhythm Paradise). So strange that a European version of a game was there!

I got the Oddworld game for the OXBox a while ago for a dollar at a thrift store and it was a PAL... being on the west coast of Canada (Victoria), reeeally not something I expected. You don't look for that stuff haha :D
Anyways, I just picked up Aquanauts Holiday and No One Can Stop Mr Domino for the PS1 from a local used game store. Loving the PS1 for quirky (but affordable) titles.
EDIT: Aaaaaand today I picked up Excitebike 64, Matt Hoffman's Pro BMX (PS1) and Armored Core 2.

Got Night Trap on the CD 32X
also received my Best of Classic Game Room kickstarter reward which included signed copies of the blu-ray and the rise and fall of the internet's greatest video game review show DVD.

I've actually found quite a few European games down here in SoCal, particularly French language ones - they sometimes get exported to Canada.

Saw an ad for a big Kid sale expo at a local arena, It was free to get in so I thought Might as well check it out.
I found a book shelf full of games but then saw their prices, $18 for crappy used NDS/Wii kid games? $10+ for used PS2 sport games? yuck! :-\ then I saw Mario Kart DS, I figured it was going to say $30 or something lol But it was $6 so that was the only game I walked out with lol.
Went to a HUGE community sale with over 90 houses having sales. (this place was so packed it was hell finding a place to park) Most places where picked over for games due to so many people. But I did find a pink DS bag and opened it to find a DSi (black) with charger, car charger and 30 loose games. I asked a young girl there how much? She wasn't sure so she asked her mom, the mom asked how many games was in there, I counted and told her and at this point I was thinking "here it comes, some huge price tag that I'm not going to want to pay" and she replied $12. so ya I bought it all. lol Here's the list of games.

Asked a lady about games and she brought out this.
- Jeopardy Sports Edition ($1)
GB
An Original Nintendo Gameboy for $2.
NES
A NES Game Genie with a book that looks so water logged it will never open again for $1 lol
Stopped at a church sale and saw a loose Zoomer controller for the NES on a table for $3. As I was looking around a saw the box to it in the books section, they used the box to put books in it, so I removed the books and got it with it's box. :D
Now if I can figure out how to remove "Mikes Books" that some wrote on the top of it. :P
And last my best garage sale find of the week. I stopped at a sale and it was one of those with a little old lady and 2 tables in her yard. I asked about video games and she said she had a Nintendo but she didn't want to sell it. I asked about games she might not play but she said she only had two Mario games and she didn't want to sell them. I was about to leave when I heard her say "I bought it a long time ago at a garage sale brand new in the box" I asked Would you sell the box? And she said ya, it's just taking up space in her basement. I was expecting a classic action set box but she brought out a Power Set Box. She said there was still some stuff inside she didn't use. I didn't even look inside and asked how much would she want and she said $10 okay? So ya I bought it. lol
I look inside later and see it had the Power Pad with inner box, all Styrofoam, Manuals for everything, Poster, Zapper, a Controller and 2 CIB games. :o

I went to a monthly Flea Market at the fairgrounds and picked up a copy of metal gear solid 3 on PS2, Dangerous Hunts 2, Jet Li's Rise to Honor, a few atari 2600 games I didn't have, for a dollar each, a Karnov Tiger Handheld, some pokemon toys and a few other odds and ends. Not the best haul video game wise but a fun hunt! also garage sales got rained out, plus I had to work in the morning :(
-
Got Night Trap on the CD 32X
also received my Best of Classic Game Room kickstarter reward which included signed copies of the blu-ray and the rise and fall of the internet's greatest video game review show DVD.
Was the Night Trap pickup based on my suggestion on last weeks show? 32x and 3DO were the best versions.
Hope you enjoy it! :)
Theflea> great pickups! I expect no less! Especially the nes box for $10 and Metriod Prime Trilogy for $3!
Was Beyond Good and Evil for the Xbox complete? Would you be willing to part with it? I've been looking for that one for quite some time.

Some slim pickings over a long-touted "100-mile garage sale." It's a series of towns over the Minnesota and Wisconsin borders that do garage sales over the same weekend. It varies greatly in what can be found there.
This year:
Dante's Inferno
Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions
Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron
All for the PSP, $1 a piece.
Resident Evil: Code: Veronica X (RE 5th Anniversary Edition) version. (PS2)
Chakan with case and manual (Genesis)
Congo Bongo with manual (2600)
Tapper with manual (2600)
These were from a dealer who'd set up a shop in a parking lot during the weekend.

Awesome find on that box w/ goodies, Flea! I'm also jealous of your Trinity Universe, that's one of the few PS3 RPGs I'm still missing and I haven't come across it anywhere so far.
I went out to sales yesterday since there were several neighborhoods having sales. The first two were busts, not much at all in the first neighborhood and calling the second one a "neighborhood wide sale" was a joke, I think I saw 4-5 sales. The last one was packed, tons of sales and tons of people. Very few games, as usual - asked everywhere, and I mostly got the usual weird look & "no.." answers from people. Some guy was selling a fat PS2 w/ 5-6 games, nothing spectacular, for $70. :o Would not part out games, the only one I had any interest in was Dynasty Warriors 4 anyway and I doubt he would have sold it for anything I would have paid. Some lady said she had a DSi & 1 game - Rio - when I asked if she had any video games. $40 - I don't think so. Some other lady had a 360 - I didn't need it, but I asked her how much out of curiosity. She said she would "let it go" for $125. When I told her no, her friend starts in with "That's still almost $400 in stores!" I told her it wasn't, that everyone was trying to get rid of them because the new systems were out. She replies "That's a Kinect." Oh, well in that case, HELL no. :P
I was about to quit when I finally started to have some luck. A minor find first, 2 Perfect Shot gun controllers for the Wii - those things you snap the wiimote into. I had been wanting those for all the light gun games on the system. $2 for the pair.
About 3 houses later, I see a couple of crappy PS2 games mixed in with some DVDs. I ask the guy if he has any other games, and he says just a couple of PS2 games. When I ask what they are, he says he can go inside & check. Comes out a few mins later w/ a stack of 360 games which I had no interest in, a Harry Potter 3-game collection in a slip cover for the PS2 which I grabbed just to add to the collection, and Final Fantasy 7 (GH). When I asked how much, he says "Well I was asking $2/each for the other games." Sold! $8 for the HP set & FF7.
A few houses after THAT, I walk up just as a guy is bringing out a stack of 360 games from his house. Glance through them & see Bioshock, which I needed to recomplete my 360 CE of that game, and the Marvel Ultimate Alliance / Forza 2 2-pack. He sells me both of them for $2.
Then just after that, I find a house w/ a box full of Wii stuff. See a few games I don't have, nothing spectacular (side note, apparently no one in my town bought first party Nintendo games for their Wii. I *never* see them. It's the strangest thing). She says she wants $50 for the system, games, everything. I ask if she'll sell the games separately, and she says she really wants to get rid of it all. I chuckle and reply "You and everyone else." She laughs and says true, and then tells me to just make her an offer (finally, someone with a sense of humor :P ). I offer her $16 for 8 of the games, she says "give me $20 & take the whole box." Done! In the box was:
- White Wii system w/ all cables, manuals, stand, etc.
- 3 Wiimotes
- 2 Nunchucks
- HDMI cable
- Off-brand steering wheel
- Link's Crossbow Training w/ Wii Zapper (no box tho, sadly :( )
- Cooking Mama: Cook Off
- Thrillville: Off The Rails
- Monopoly
- Wii Play
- Family Game Night 2
- Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz (disk is completely trashed, but luckily I already have this one)
- Rayman Raving Rabids TV Party (case/manual but disk is missing - main one I saw that interested me too :( )
Oh - and for some reason, a complete baby monitor set. ???
And today I went one town over & hit up the retro store. Traded in the SNES I bought last year that reeked of cigarette smoke - I never could de-stench it - and Dragon Age: Inquisition for the PS4 which I just haven't gotten around to (and expect a "complete" edition to hit before I do at this point). Used the credit to grab:
- Sphinx & The Cursed Mummy - PS2 - $5
- Super Bust-A-Move - PS2 - $5
- Dead Space 2 CE - PS3, in absolute MINT condition - $50
Walked next door to the flea market & found:
- Amped 2 - Xbox, still factory sealed - $4
- Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers - PS2 - $5
And finally, I checked their Gamestop & got 4 more from the 4-for-$10 sale:
- inFamous - PS3
- Shaun White Snowboarding - PS3
- The Fight: Lights Out - PS3
- Sonic & The Secret Rings - Wii

Damn I just wondering how the hell does people manage to add so many games every month to their collections, I can barely purchase one each week and this one is not the exception cause am adding into my NES library the Sqoon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sqoon) title, before I started writing this post went into the search option of the NES titles just to see how many people has this one at their collections and it's kinda sad that only 38 people have it at their collections, Irem as Natsume are two of my favorites companies and with a good of reasons because almost all of their games are so fucking amazing, this title was at my list for some months but haven't been lucky until a couple of days ago when I saw it at Mercado Libre Mexico for only 16 bucks, as everybody can see it might now be in excellent condition but it's very fine and for this price I only can say that it was a very good deal 8)

Found myself back at the flea markets again this year. Managed to grab a few.
Raw Danger - PS2
Ape Escape 3 - PS2
Sly Cooper - PS2
Judge Dredd - PS1
Tiger-Heli - NES
The Sims 3 LateNight - PC
Then at GameStop I could not resist the new Wii U controllers. I don't know what exactly makes them "fight sticks", but I like them for collecting purposes. I got the Yoshi one. It seems like the Wario one is the hardest to find.

Now that you say that, I don't recall seeing the Wario one at any of the Gamestops I've been to recently. My favorite is the Samus one, I may have to get it - but I don't know that I'd get them all.

Got it for $9 complete.
They've had a case and manual one for $7 but I also prefer to have the instruction manual!
Good thing too this game actually turns out to be a legit wrestling game!
-
Am a wrestling fan in real life but not so much in video games but this one is the exception, have to admit that I purchased my copy only for this Dixie Clements image (http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a35/disaresta/DixieClemets004.jpg) and because there was a promo of Metal Gear 3 and Rumble Roses in a magazine, in my personal opinion its a shame that the second one for the 360 is not as good as this one >:(

If you haven't tried them out yet, the five Smackdown! games and the first 2 Smackdown! Vs. Raw games are great.

Agreed. And WWE 13 and WWE 2K14 have some incredible storyline modes (but WWE 2K15's storyline mode was pathetic). WWE 13 goes through the entire Attitude Era, and WWE 2K14 is the History of WrestleMania.
I REALLY want the next one to be the Rise and Fall of WCW storyline.
-
It will put these titles at my wish lit, the only ones that have tried and are currently at my collection are WWE Day of Reckoning 2 for the GameCube and WWF Wrestlemania 2000 for the Game Boy Color but never is to late to test old games that are good 8)
-
I had Rumble Roses at one point, maybe it was all T&A but it was still a boring wrestling game to me. I don't like button mashing to win. :(
So... remember that a month ago I bought a bunch of games from a local seller who brought two milk crates full of games? (http://vgcollect.com/forum/index.php/topic,6060.msg89490.html#msg89490) I've been waiting for a good time to go and check that stuff again, and he seemed to imply he'd be getting rid of the stuff soon... and since today was a pretty empty day at the flea market where I get stuff for my eBay shop, I figured I'd ask for the crates again. Nobody had touched them since the day I bought some stuff, so other than some dirt on top, everything was still there. And I grabbed most of the stuff I had eyed back then. All of this was a buck each.

I like the Samus one too, I struggled between that one and Yoshi. At first I thought maybe I'll just get those two, but now the crazy part of my brain is thinking "collect them all".

Bought Sin & Punishment:Star Successor for Wii today. $5 at Gamestop.

Here are mine:

What kind of game is that Farcry? I'm assuming it doesn't play like a standard FC game.
It's most like any FPS on the wii. It has nothing to do with the open world awesomeness of normal Far Cry game. Being a huge fan of the series I had to have it, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
-
So, my copy of Retro City Rampage DX for Vita came in today. Too bad I don't have a Vita. :-\
Anyone want a sealed Vita copy for an opened PS4 copy?

Devil survivor came in

Look at what my comic shop set aside for me:
It's a full-color reprinting of the entire Legend of Zelda comic series that ran in Nintendo Power, in a trade paperback. The title on the cover is in gold foil, too.
If it already hasn't been done by then, I'll be adding it to the database after I get my grubby mitts on it tomorrow.
-
How many are there and how much is it?

Picked up Colony Wars for the PS1 and Sonic All Star Racing for the PS3 last week, which is a helluva lot of fun.
Couple weeks ago I picked up a CIB copy of Grind Stormer for the Genesis but, surprise surprise, it doesn't work. I'm going to see if I can transfer the rom onto another similar PCB. Others have posted success with this approach but I have no soldering skills so I'll have a local guy do it for me.

- Destiny
I asked about other video games, and the guy said he had an old Nintendo 64 he wasn't using. I said awesome, I'd love to see it.
He brings out a Grey N64 with all hook ups, three controllers and four games. I saw a couple games I wanted and asked how much? And he wanted $50 for it all. I was thinking kinda more then I wanted to spend, but there was one game that made the price worth it. Was about to ask about buying only the games, when his brother asked if I'd be interested in an old Super Nintendo. Yes Please I said and I wait and he brings out a SNES Jr. with three controllers and 6 games. When I saw the games I asked, take $100 for everything? And they where happy with the offer. My God flea.
My God.
:)
-
So this weekend I got -
- A re-usable Gen sports case - $1
- Crash Wrath of Cortex - PS2 - $1
- MegaMan X4 PS1 disc only - $2
- Conker's Bad Fur Day N64 - $25
A guy was selling a 64 lot for someone else, had several top tier games asking $100. I asked him would he piece Conker out for $20, he didn't want to but came back at $25. To me it was a fair price, about what I would give for an uncommon 64 game. I think the market price on it is way overblown. If the owner wanted every penny for what they had, they way undervalued the entire lot.
-
double post. Sorry.
-
So I got Resident Evil: Revelations (WiiU) for $10.
I don't hate that at all.
-
I picked up Tales of Hearts R today, then when I got home a friend had sent me Trinity Universe out of the blue! :o Only 17 games left to complete my PS3 RPG collection! ;D
-
Tales of Hearts R is soooooo good. @_@ I'm so excited that you get to play it for the first time. I think you'll really enjoy it.
I picked up Mind Zero and my amazon order of SaGa 3: Shadow or Light arrived. I'll be saving Mind Zero for one of those dry periods. As for SaGa 3, I'm damn determined to figure out a way to play it on my actual DS w/ the translation patch. ^^
-
These two babies arrived yesterday at my office am talking about The Simpsons: Bart vs. the Space Mutants (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Simpsons:_Bart_vs._the_Space_Mutants) some people say this game sucks but am a big fan of the TV series at least from the first seasons that's why I decided to give it a try, the second one is the all mighty Batman: The Video Game (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batman:_The_Video_Game) because by far this is the best game of this character, found them at Mercado Libre in a mint condition for a very reasonable price, paid less than 12 bucks for both of them 8)

-
The Batman game is awesome, congrats!
But I have to nitpick about it being the best Batman game. It was, until the Arkham series of games came out.
-
Haven't tested Arkham yet and not because I don't wanna do it, have seen a lot of excellent reviews about this one but right now my budget doesn't allow me to add it into my collection also I prefer to add games that in a near future will be kinda difficult to find, 360 and PS3 titles will be still available for a couple of more years ;)
-
Finally got that FFX/X-2 HD PS4 LE!
9/12 CDs came in too.

Stellar Forces is CIB but the box is crushed. It's an unofficial Starcraft expansion that got pulled a few months after release because Blizzard got mad. - $2
Robots (crushed box) - $1
Desperate Housewives: The Game (sealed) - $1
M&M's: The Lost Formulas (no box) - 10 pesos (about 70 US cents).
I got that last one because I read the credits and it mentions J.K. Simmons. You know, Cave Johnson, J. Jonah Jameson, Tenzin from Avatar, etc.
-
M&M's: The Lost Formulas (no box) - 10 pesos (about 70 US cents).
For that price they better should gave you the game for free, it's totally a bargain, just wonder if you do you mind if I ask where the hell did you found it :P

I got it at the flea market (mercado sobreruedas) that sets up at a street about two blocks away from my home every Wednesday. :P I had to go buy some tomatoes for lunch and there's always a vendor that apparently buys stuff from Goodwills and stuff across the border, then dumps it all on Wednesdays. She usually doesn't have much of anything of interest to me, but there were CDs this time so I figured I'd check.
Most sellers have very beat up, sunfaded, and often moldy games, so I rarely bother. And they want really dumb prices for games. 150 pesos for a crappy dollar game? Hell no.
-
I've slowed down a lot (partly because my new job requires me to stay pretty on budget compared to my last job) and partly because I am down to the more pricey or obscure items in my wishlist (9 items left to go!)
Here's my haul so far for this month.

Damn this is the first time in my whole time that I ever seen a manual for the NES that big, always had the idea that all of them where smaller maybe it's because wasn't able to purchase many new games when I was younger but that's besides the point, wonder how many titles for this console had this kind of manual also can you tell me how much you paid for both articles, a couple weeks ago purchased my copy ;)

I got Crystalis with manual and plastic sleeve for $29 shipped.
Kinda high but I like to get manuals with my games when I can.
Not really sure how many other games have huge manuals like this. It's the first nes game I have where the manual is not the standard size.
I also have a special guide for it that I have no idea how I got it. :)

Now for the best finds from a used game store.
I walked into a game store I haven't been in for awhile, the owner has always made deals with me. When I asked him "anything cool come in?" he first showed me a Nintendo Game Boy Advance Red Target exclusive system. I asked what He wanted and he said $20. So ya I grabbed it. Next He shows me a Pokemon Mini with cart, was showing me it was going for $30-$50 on ebay then tells me he'll give it to me for $20. So I grabbed that to. Then He shows me a Mega Drive game (Uncharted Waters in Japan) and tells me take for $1. Then He asks if I saw those PS1 educational games he got in? I first thought "What a jump start game?" He shows me two boxes full of PS1 games where only sold to to schools. He said he wanted to get rid of them, and I offered $20 for them and he said take em. lol and last he says I got one more thing you might want. He goes and pulls out a PS1 Blue Dev Kit system. :o
It was missing the controller and had no hook ups, told me I could have it for $15. :o
I tell him I have a couple N64's from my garage sales and he gave me $40 credit for them to go towards my purchase. ;)

I've got to know Flea: How does it feel to be a boss everyday?
-
Hell of a weekend. Well done flea!

This just arrived from Amazon new.
sic
Completely forgot I have a bid on it used on eBay right now.
Hope I lose.
You can cancel bids or do what people do to me all the time when they win at too high of a price and say "Oh, my kid bid on this without me knowing, I don't want it. Please cancel"
Ugh ...

Ugh ...
It's my wife's account and she's got flawless feedback. I don't want to mess that up.
Looks like I'm going to win unless someone snipes me. :P
What's funny is this will be the first item I've bid on and won in the last year.
Can't tell you how many I've been skunked on by snipers.

I've sold three things in the past month or so. Two of them saw no action till like the last 5 to 10 minutes, with the third getting the starter bid, but mostly sitting out the three days. Practically every one would have like 6 to 10 bids in the last minute and the third one had like 5+ in the last 20 seconds lol It's crazy, I can't imagine being on the buying side for a lot of this lol
-
I haven't been able to collect since I'm out of the country. I'm going back to canada for a couple of weeks though so I am ordering a few things for my arrival :p
I ordered Final Fantasy: Lightning Returns sealed on PS3. To be honest I was surprised I didn't already have it. I'm currently browsing ebay looking for a couple of other cheap goodies I could get.
-

Canceling a bid doesn't affect your feedback. Hell nothing affects a buyer's feedback now. eBay made it impossible for sellers to leave negs to people who deserve them. And who don't.

eBay sucks. If there were a competent competitor I'd jump ship but there isnt.

That Wii stand is really awesome, Flea! I'm pretty jealous of that ;D
I went to a dozen garage sales yesterday and a flea market today, and the only video games I saw were a Wii without any games, priced at $150, and a few "Imagine" DS games for $20 each... ??? but it's the first week-end of the year for those, so I won't lose hope! 8)
I bought 2 Vita games in stores though, Touch My Katamari was randomly prices $10 at Walmart so I jumped on it! I also grabbed a physical copy of Child of Light because I was afraid I'd have a hard time getting one if I waited too long.
-
Heh, my eBay losing streak is unbroken!
I was outbid by 50 cents in the last minute of the auction!
-
I didn't mention this the other day...
$1. So glad I got this on Thursday, the flea market got flooded with rain on Friday and I saved it. :p I had to replace the case, but it's in great shape other than that.

I've played this on 3DO. It is thee pinnacle of bad acting lightgun shooters.
Great score!

My last additions:
- Panzer Dragoon Saga PAL - pics (https://plus.google.com/photos/+RomaricParezys/albums/6139084532373096193)
- Complete Strike series on NTSC SEGA hardware - pics (https://plus.google.com/photos/+RomaricParezys/albums/6129496575824583089) and pics (https://plus.google.com/photos/+RomaricParezys/albums/6142524198893554049)
It's been years I wanted to get my hands on PDS, i'm so glad the PAL version works on NTSC mode on my JP Saturn since I really wanted to play it in 60Hz and the PAL version has those gorgeous boxes! Best RPG ever for me ♥
The Strikes are still awesome to play. I like those yellow-tabbed cartridges that remind me that long ago, EA were kinda pirating SEGA hardware to sell their games...

After a long wait my last purchase has finally arrived this morning, it took me a couple of time but I was finally able to found my copy of Gyromite (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gyromite) with the only an original Famicom / Nes adapter (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7drnY7E0bAk) developed by Nintendo, guess was lucky enough to find a good seller that allowed to check different things in the cartridge without open it (http://www.vintagecomputing.com/index.php/archives/23), I guess that if he knew that the game had one of this adapter he definitely will have raised the price cause only paid $ 18.00 bucks for it, now just need to purchase a Famicom title to perform some tests but if this game work it will work with the other ones 8)

I started a couple of years ago looking for all the games with Famicom adapters in them. Gyromite is supposed to be the most common, but I can't find one. I have Kung Fu, Excitebike, Gumshoe, Hogan's Alley, and Stack-up. There are only about 20 or so titles that have them. I wanted to get them all.
-
To be quite honest before this purchase I did a lot of research also received some advice from my friends who told me that if I wanted the adapter it definitely should be in a Gyromite cartridge cause all of them found it in the same game, attempted to purchase the following titles (they are the most common to have it) but right now am kinda short of money and since I already own the Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!! I did opened without luck, really hope that when I get those games can find another adapter 8)
1942
Clu Clu Land
Donkey Kong Jr.
Duck Hunt
Elevator Action
Excitebike
Golf
Gumshoe
Gyromite
Hogan’s Alley
Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!!
Pinball
Raid on Bungeling Bay
Rygar
Soccer
Stack Up
Tennis
Urban Champion
Wizards and Warriors
Wrecking Crew

Finding a Mike Tyson with one is going to be damn near impossible. Have you seen a 5 screw MTPO? There aren't many. Then you have to find the one with the famicom adapter in it. I think there's only been 1 of those found over at Nintendo Age.
I look in every 5 screw game I see. I can't believe I haven't found one in a Gyromite yet.
The only one that is guaranteed to have one in it is Stack-Up. Every copy has a Famicom adapter in it.

I just checked the Gyromite I picked up a couple weeks ago, but no luck. If I do happen across one I'll swap one of you guys for it, since I'm not that big of a NES collector.

Unfortunately there is no copy of this game at Mercado Libre Mexico and it's a shame, I don't have an eBay account so I searched for it at Amazon but the prices are to damn high (http://s2.quickmeme.com/img/57/574aa510639422f9e66a9832de8c6bfcad2b57a23afa95c8488baa81ee6ed301.jpg) guess that will have to search for it in a second title, want to add to my collection the 1942, Excitebike, Golf, Pinball, Rygar and Wrecking Crew maybe I'll find another adapter in one of these ;D

I finally found a Toad Amiibo. Found him at a local Toys R Us, there were four left. Usually won't buy amiibos at TRU since they are a little expensive, but only go as a last resort or if it's a store exclusive.
I also bought a couple Wii Points(yes, WII POINTS) cards for the Wii. I did so to download these old WiiWare titles...
Castlevania Rebirth, Contra Rebirth, Gradius Rebirth and Bomberman Blast.
Probably will be the last few titles I'll download from WiiWare.

Considering Konami's quest to destroy everything they've ever made, you probably did the right thing. :p

Picked this up at the local used movie/game shop. Looks quite interesting. A platformer where you torture your enemies with various devices and weapons in a humorous (albeit dark humor) way. Can't wait to get some time to sit down and play this one!

Stopped by the mom and pop shop today.
Left with this...
Yeah. So now I need to buy a game gear.
Never heard of Vampire Night. But apparently it's a spiritual successor to House of the Dead and the best light gun game ever released for PS2.
I'll have to fire it up (pun intended) on the crt this weekend and see for myself.

SSX - PS3

Hit the garage sales, and man... This week had many WTF sales. So many had signs out but no sales, A sale advertised In my local paper saying "Big Subdivision Sale" and I go there and it's one house with a little old lady selling crafts. lol Also many "ya I got a SNES, N64 or NES with a bunch of games, come back a little later and you can have it" and I show up later and get "sorry, I couldn't find it, my son didn't want to sell it" Sigh. oh well. But there was some cool finds this week, so lets get to it. ;)
Found a bag full of Disney Infinity Figures for $10.
Found Another Wii Stand like the one last week for $2. (not pictured, see last weeks finds it looks the same.) :P

I also picked up something not pictured, A PS1 model 1 with about 6 crappy games most incomplete with all hook ups and a controller for free, when I asked about video games at this sale, the lady brought out a dirty PS1 with a bunch of crappy games, I passed but she said I could have it because she was just going to throw it away. Fine I'll take it. lol
I stopped at a sale and asked about video games and the young man there said, ya I got a game boy, but its at my house. He said He'll have them later in the afternoon and told me to come back. Well seeing how I was stiffed at three other sales that did this I didn't get my hopes up. I come back and the young man wasn't there. His mom told me he'll be back soon, so I waited. After waiting 20 minutes I was about to tell the mom, I'll be back in a bit when the young man pulled up with a stack of stuff. First I saw a stack of 360 games, nothing special and nothing I was interested in. Then I looked in the small box he had, and in it was a Game Boy Pocket (Black) the screen had issues but still worked. A couple Game Boy Advances Both missing battery cover and colors I had so I passed of those. Next a Game Boy Advance SP (101 light blue model) It was kinda beat up but it worked and had it's charger and a Link Cable. Then I saw the games, Some GBA, some GBC, some original GB. When I asked how this guy acted like he didn't know if he wanted to sell them. I tried a starting offer of $20, and he said no he couldn't sell them for that, then he said that the games where worth at least $5 a piece and the GBA SP was $15. So after some back and forth I finally got him to accept $50. Here's what I got.
- Game Boy Advance SP (101) with charger
- GBA Link Cable
- Game Boy Pocket (Black)
- Dragonball Z: Buu's Fury (GBA)

- Motorcross Maniacs

Stopped at a sale and when I asked about video games a lady said she had a Game Boy. And she bring out a Game Boy Color (Lime Green) with 3 games. I asked price and she said $10 okay? Here's the games it had.
- Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
- Shrek Fairy Tale Freakdown
- Wario Land 3
Found a Jorden vs Bird Tiger LCD in a free box.
GEN/N64
I stopped at a sale and asked about video games and the lady said she had a Genesis, but she didn't put it out to sell because the system was missing the plug. I told her I was still interested in it and she pulls out a large box full of games and I even see N64 games in the box get excited and see they are all sport games. :-\ She told me $1 a game, so I picked out the ones I thought I was missing was missing. (left my phone in the car to look up VGcollect) lol
- Hit the Ice
- Bulls vs. Blazers
- NBA All-Star Challenge
- Roger Clemen's MVP Baseball
- Greatest Heavyweights
- Jammit
- Pitfighter
- NBA Live 99 (N64 CIB)
- NFL Blitz (N64 CIB)
And last my best find of the week.
On Friday, I was out and had a horrible time with finding anything at sales. wasn't finding much of anything.
Then late in the afternoon, I was heading home and saw a sale I didn't stop at yet so I pulled over. I see an old man and the sale looked like a lost cause for video games, I asked and the old gentlemen said You looking for old computers? I said I wasn't into PC but for some reason i continued with "what do you have?" He asked if i knew what a TI-99 was, and my eyes lit up. Yes I am interested to see what you got. The nice guy invited me into his house and he pulls out box after box from under a ping pong table. I see the Complete in Box TI-99/4a then he shows me a bunch of the games. Many I've never seen before. Then He pulls out this weird controller thing, (CIB) I had no idea what this was (but I had to have it) :P He told me that it was to play several of the games he had and how loved playing baseball with it. Then he pulls out the Tape Recorder for it and a box full of cords for the system. In there I even see the Voice Modulator for the TI-99. Then he pulls out another TI-99 system, this time the beige model 2. Also a box full of games of tape (all copied) After talking back and forth on price we finally agreed on $70 for it all. And here's what I got. ;D
- TI-99/4a System in box with all hook ups.
- TI-99/4a model 2 system with all hook ups.
- TI voice modulator
- TI Joysticks
- A modified Atari Joystick to work on the TI-99
- The TI-99 Tape Recorder with all hook ups to use it.
- MBX Expansion system (CIB) I looked this up and it sells for well over $100
- A bunch of extra cables, manuals, and other paper work.
- A box full of cassettes with games and other programs.
And now the list of games.
- Addition & subtraction 2 (x2)
- Personal Record Keeping
- Early Learning Fun
- TI Extended Basic (x2)
- Chisholm Trail (x2)
- Hunt the Wumpus
- Car Wars (x2)
- Adventure (with a tape cassette and manual) (x2)
- Parsec (x2)
- Alpiner
- Return to Pirate's Isle
- Tunnels of Doom

- Pole Position (x2)
- Frogger
These are the games you need to use the MBX controller with.
- Championship Baseball
- Bigfoot
- Soundtrack Trolley
- Meteor Belt
- Space Bandits
- Sewermania
The MBX controller and it's games are not easy to come by, the games sell for as much as $30. High for a TI-99 game lol
There's one guy right now on Ebay tring to get $300 for this controller with baseball. :o
No I'm not selling it, it's going in my collection. ;)

The end of this month is coming and still continue trying to archive my goal to complete 100 NES titles and today I'll add another two Capcom games to my collection, was able to found the greatest Section Z (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Section_Z) at Mercado Libre Mexico in a very good condition for less than 7 bucks, this game bring me a lot of good memories when life was much easier, grown up is a trap in all senses but that's besides the point, the second title was found in a store in the Mall and am talking about Street Fighter 2010: The Final Fight (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Street_Fighter_2010:_The_Final_Fight), this little fella was kinda alone with some SNES games so for 11 bucks I decided to give it a home, even when a lot of people talk crap about it years ago I read an awesome review that made things little easier about purchasing it or not, it's practically in mint condition almost like new 8)

Street Fighter 2010 is an alright game. Most people spewing hate were hoping for a NES Street Fighter game in the traditional side scrolling beat em up sense.
It's not that kind of game. It's more like Strider.

Seeing those Capcom labels is a thing of beauty. Capcom was the best game publisher back then not named Nintendo, as far as I'm concerned.

Picked up some reproduction carts from the good people over in Shenzhen China. They were only $25-30 each shipping included which is a lot better than the $160-200 something original copies of Mega Man 7 and Earthbound are going for.
Tales of Phantasia and Seiken Densetsu 3 weren't released outside of Japan. So picking up English translated copies of these in a physical form is awesome.
-
@thecrypticodo: Hey now, that's pretty nifty! I didn't know that you could get the carts translated. Did they come with manuals, boxes and the like? Either way, that's awesome that they do that. Secret of Mana 2 (or SD3) is a fantastic game that I need to have back in my life. Angela and Liese are hella-fierce.
EDIT: I got so excited about the SoM2 cart that I forgot to mention an update. @_@ As you can see in my sig, I got a few things:
Time Stalkers for the Dreamcast
Sword of the Berserker for the Dreamcast
Dance Dance Revolution Extreme for the PS2
Shining Force Neo for the PS2
The Kirby Collection...thing for the Wii. Hopefully this last one will motivate to finally get DAT Wii U.
-
Got Super Off Road for SNES and Donkey Konga 1&2 with DK Bongos for Gamecube today!

While 11/13 of these are issues I've had since XMAS, I finally picked up the last 2 issues I needed to complete the Official Dreamcast Magazine collection. What a complete set looks like :D

What's there to disapprove of? I've seen others post pics of reproduction games. It's not like I'm divulging where I got em. ;)

Well other than the fact that you paid $120 for bootleg carts when you could've bought a flash cart for about the same price... those carts never, ever, ever get permission from the original game hackers.
Yes, we care. We care a whole lot.
I shouldn't be crapping on your finds and I'm sorry but they're a really sore point for me.

Who's to say that I don't already own a flash cart. By that same logic why would I spend money on any cartridge based game when I could just use a flash cart. I like having a dedicated cartridge copy. Spending $200 bucks on ebay for a game like Earthbound knowing that probably around 10-15 percent of them being sold on there are fakes anyway is not particularly appealing to me.
I didn't see any problem with the guy who posted his Secret of Mana 2 and his Chrono Triger repros last month. Or the myriad of others who have posted them before on this site. I don't see why this focus is on poor little thecrypticodor :'(

I've actually said this to a lot of people. Repro game creators and sellers are scum. Argho230328jd8wed-28djw9dj
This is why I rarely reply to these posts. I should just shut the hell up.
-
I don't understand the idea behind buying a flash cart, at all. If you're gonna go the emulation route, why not just download them for free?

A flash cart isn't emulation at all it just lets you load the games ROM file off of a SD card and has a interface to select between multiple ROMS. Whether the ROM is loaded onto the system from a SD card or from an original cartridges EPROM there's really is no difference.

3DS games from Bestbuy B1G1 %50 off.
and NDS case and manuals from Fox.

Can we get that in writing?
ZOMG just kidding! ...or am I?
-
I don't understand the idea behind buying a flash cart, at all. If you're gonna go the emulation route, why not just download them for free?
A couple reasons:
- Variety - Homebrews, hacks, prototypes, fan translations all on original hardware! :)
- Portability - I have a Retro Duo Portable V2 which is awesome. But you know what is not awesome? Taking my real TMNT Turtles in Time, Star Fox 2, and 30 other games out and about with me to lose/forget somewhere and find posted later on ebay. It's just easier having one cart with them all on there.
- Economy - I should not need to drop $1,000 to play Little Sampson and Bonks Adventure on the nes just once.
-
So I went against my "no digital" rule to pickup Saints Row IV Re-Elected + Gat Out of Hell for $15.50 in the current PSN sale. GOoH is digital only anyway. I'll grab a physical copy of SR4:RE when it drops below $10 eventually.

Actually, I've seen GOoH stand alone hard copy many times in GameStop. Think it's down to 15 pre-owned.

You must be talking about PS3 - I've only seen it bundled for the PS4, and it's definitely a code in that bundle.

Damn that was the same reason why I didn't spend 400 bucks just to play this tittle, am not against emulation because have used this a lot in the past neither to use a flash cart in fact I want the RetroPak but as you said the economy and my budget can't afford me to do this purchase, not right now, so instead of this I use the NesterCD in my Dreamcast and it's the same thing, just wonder if there is a NES to DC adapter cause the damn controller is not one of my favorites :-\[/list]

Excellent, excellent game. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I'm so glad that I bought the game at launch because I never, ever see it.
-
Stopped by Gamestop last night to speak with my friend / manager, and while I was waiting on him to get off the phone I thumbed through their cheap bin. Was shocked to see a mint copy of Hellboy: The Science of Evil because I've been looking for it for a while with no luck. Dunno if it's any good or not, but I really like Hellboy so it was worth $5 for me to add it to the collection. :)
BTW, I would be celebrating the fact that this is my 300th PS3 game, but I'm about to sell a few & drop back down so I'll save that for when it's going to be permanent. ;)
-
While the state of Amiibo is still extremely awful, I am happy that I was able to snag the two I wanted from this wave without a pre-order. Got pretty lucky really.

I'm kind of wondering at this point if my mentioning of this game in the PS2 "price spike" thread is what has inspired so much buzz about it recently. I think I've noticed it being added to several forum members collections since then. It's one of those obscure games that is going up in price pretty much on the mystique alone.
-
I was able to buy most of the amiibo I was casually looking for.
Pac-Man
Charzard
Greninja
Wario
Splatoon 3 pack
G
Of course can't find the 2 I really wanted though
EDIT:...Ended up also getting a Yoshi and Link Wii U fight pad and a blue PS4 controller

I got Splatoon for Wii U today. I also got the Inkling Boy and Girl amiibos as well as Silver Mario. The guy at Gamestop said that it was the last Inkling Boy so that was a good call. Silver Mario I'll keep in its package. Inklings I take out. I also have Ness and Pac-Man on the way. Should arrive to my place around June.

I also found Q*Bert for Game Boy at a Goodwill.

XB
Stopped at a sale that had two Xbox's on the table, one loose and one boxed with 2 games. The boxed one was $8 and loose was $5. So I grabbed the boxed one, it was just too cheap to pass up. Plus both games I didn't have.

GEN
And last at that community sale I mentioned before, I asked a lady about video games and she said she had some at her house down the street. She first asked about coming back later, but I told her I don't mind walking so I walked a couple blocks to her house and waited outside as she brings out a Sega Genesis (model 2) with 2 controllers AV hookups (no adapter) and 21 loose games! When I asked what do you want for it all, I heard $10 and was happy to give her the money. lol Here's what was in there.

Also picked up this at another sale for .50c
- NBA Live 97
Stopped at a sale and asked a lady about video games and she said she had an old Nintendo but it was buried in a closet and she was still in the middle of cleaning it out. Asked me to come back in a couple hours. I come back and she shows me a Wii (white) with 2 crappy games I didn't need, so I just passed. :-\
Stopped at one neighborhood sale and I swear, I saw every reseller I know there. Every sale that had games was so picked over. One of the resellers that knows me well (and has given me issues in the past) was complaining about there was to many of them there. So I pretty much got outta there and looked else where.

A big annual street sale was today so I checked it out. Lots of random PS2/PS3/X360/Wii/DS games and I passed on all of them. Prices were ok but nothing I was after.
But I did get a sealed Wii remote charger kit for a buck. A Value Village had some stuff and I grabbed Sims 2 Double Deluxe and Project Sylpheed for the 360 for $3 each and then went to the local gamestore and picked up PS2 NFS: Rivals for $15 which was technically free since I had store credit.

I did say what I paid for them. :P
XB
Stopped at a sale that had two Xbox's on the table, one loose and one boxed with 2 games. The boxed one was $8 and loose was $5. So I grabbed the boxed one, it was just too cheap to pass up. Plus both games I didn't have.
- Godfather
- Rocky4
NES
Asked a guy about video games and he said he had some Nintendo games, this was all he could find.
- Game Genie
- Super Mario Bros. 3
Got all for $3.

A shout out to Lady D for helping me with this.
SO! My birthday isn't until June, but it's already shaping up to be better than last year. Over the weekend, I had the opportunity to meet a friend of mine from GameFAQs face to face. She learned that it was my birthday and gave me a gift to end all gifts. Does everyone have their jealousy in check? Well, you should. First, she got me 8 character figures from the Tales series. I know there are only seven in the pics, but the one not shown is Zelos Wilder from Symphonia. He is on display elsewhere.
We see Kyle Dunami, Reala, and Judas from Tales of Destiny 2. This happens to be my favorite in the entire series. We also see Rutee Katrea, Leon Magnus, Lilith Aeleron and Stan Aeleron from Tales of Destiny. They are magnificent. Each one comes with a variety of weapons and attachments that they can equip. I am loving these. They will be put on display in the game room.

But, the biggest gift of all was Lufia 2. Lufia mother-f*cking 2. I am on cloud nine. I have wanted to play this game for years. YEARS I tell you. The best part is, I've already had other friends offer to buy the box and manual for me to make the game complete.
I can't begin to say how grateful I am for her kindness. I've known her for years on GameFAQs and getting to meet her was the best gift of all. Of course, the tangible gifts don't hurt too much, either. This is going to be the best birthday ever if this continues.

Awww <3 <3 <3 that is so amazing! If I've learned anything from the last few years of being on VGC and Twitch, it's that gamers are some of the kindest, most generous people there are. Congrats, and happy birthday!

Wow, that's amazing! And some people dare say that people you meet on the Internet are just virtual/worthless relationships. Friends are friends, no matter where you meet them!
