I tend to gravitate towards games with tons of replay value (e.g. everything on this list) so I could probably get away with just getting two of these and playing them for months then picking up the others later if I still care.

I don't think they're the same topic, but they are similar, and this one seems to be primarily focused on just what the OP wants to buy. I'm not sure if they're trying to get some sort of feedback or validation, so I would suggest that similar discussions be held in the Anonymous/General thread (https://vgcollect.com/forum/index.php/topic,1942.0.html).

I thought you were REALLY excited for almost nothing, plus those games all retail for above $5 so they aren't going to be fun. Plus, one must ask themselves "are those games even value for money?"
Also, you don't have to make a forum post about this. You see, on this site, they have a handy feature called the "Wish List" and what you do is, you find the game you want and add it to it. 8)

I'm kinda talking myself out of the few games I want this year ...
Monster Hunter on Switch looks to have really poor textures due to being a 3DS port and the gameplay is really just damage sponge monsters attacking with lumbering predictable move patterns.
Dark Souls Remastered looks hardly any different to the original and do I really want to deal with the difficulty and grind again anyway
I do love Hitman but Hitman 2 is virtually the same game as the last, it's obviously the same engine and set up.
Pokemon Let's Go is super casual, without wild pokemon battles it will probably feel gimped and limited. I had it in my head that I was excited and should get day one but thinking on it ... eh ... it's not really an RPG any more if the level up is just catching crap by throwing balls
Smash is okay but I've literally played that since the N64 and it's not really what I'm looking for in a game right now
Warriors Orochi ... I prefer just straight up Dynasty Warriors, it takes me out of it to fight demons or whatever instead of actual soldiers

That's because it's a remaster. ^.^
There's no grind unless you're trying to get rare materials.

Red Dead Redemption 2 and Resident Evil 2 Remake for me. I have RDR2 paid off, looking to pre-order RE2 Remake, next.
Also, Metroid Prime 4, whenever the hell it comes out. That will be the game that gets me to finally get a Switch, since I already owned a Wii U for LoZ: Breath of the Wild.
And even though I don't plan on purchasing one, I am curious to see what the hell this Atari VCS (formerly Atari Box) is all about.

Kinda want one of those 1up Street Fighter games. Walmart/GameStop exclusive preorder. $299 doesn’t seem so bad for a pint sized emulator.

I'm kinda debating on grabbing Ultimate generations on switch or world on pc since while the former has a ton of monster variety, the latter has some really nice 4k & framerate scaling, in addition to some of the enviornments. Other two on my list are smash bros ultimate and metal wolf chaos XD ( maybe la mulana 2 as well).
