Started off the month with some merch. I was at Target today and managed to find both the Hanzo and Genji Nendoriod figures on clearance, so I had to grab them.
Now that I've got a few of those figures, I'm having to find a good spot to display them all.
Here's the current set up with Hanzo reflecting on life as his arrow is being reflected back towards his head:

Home from a trip to Denver and I hit pretty much every used video game store out there and picked up quite a few things.
Even 2 games that gives me a complete collection of a curtain game console.
First I got a Neo Geo Mini Arcade.
I wish it looked exactly like the Japanese version. Not sure why they changed the color scheme for the US release.
Amiibo

When I went to buy it they couldn't find the game and apologized then tossed the game box and manual in the trash.
I asked if I could have the empty box and they let me have it for free. I then looked online for a disc only and found one for $14.
So I got a complete copy for the price of a disc only. lol
PS2
Been looking for this for a while but every time I see it it's $40-$50.
A game store in Denver had it marked at $25 so I grabbed it.
- Graffiti Kingdom
DC
I have a complete Dreamcast collection so I rarely look at DC anymore, but in Denver I saw one that stood out. A Japanese DC game that was under priced. Supposed to be a great shooter.

T16CD
At one of the used game stores in Denver, I saw a T16CD game I needed but is was over priced. :P
I got to talking with the owner and made him an offer for it about $20 under the going price (about $40 under what he was asking) thinking he'd come back with another offer or just tell me no. But he said it has been sitting there for the longest time and ya I'll sell it for that. lol

At a Denver game store I saw this on the shelf and asked to see it, It was complete and looked like it was brand new.
The box was a tad beat and they had it maked at $40. I asked if they would take $25, she came back with $27. ;D
- Colecovision Expansion Module 2
Now the find of the week...
At a game store in Denver, I saw 3 rare games I wanted but they where pricey to say the least.
I got talking to the owner and told how I wanted the 3 games and he told me maybe we can come to a deal.
We got to talking and I showed him my vast collection and he told me he really wanted to see me get these games and toss him an offer.
I said an offer knowing it was a little low and thought there is no way in hell he's going to bite, but he might come back with an offer then maybe I could loose one of the games and make it a better price. But he took the first offer. :o
He told me he was a collector too and he wanted these rare games in the hands of someone like him.

dark souls really seems kinda hyped these last few years.
I'm pretty sure it was less popular some time ago the franchise as a whole, I remember selling a strategy guide of one of the dark souls for ps3 games for close to a 100$ excuding high international shipping costs wich was kinda insane especially for a strategy guide. But thanks to the popualrity it has been reprinted and dropped down to 20 - 30ish since it is pretty easy to find on ebay nowadays. I really wonder if people actually used the guide or bought it more as a collectors piece considering it's price when the dark souls series was less popular than it is today.
-
It has been a LONG time since I came across cheap retro Nintendo games and it was incredibly nice to come across many that I have been wanting to re-add to my collection ever since being forced to sell them last year. Also happy about the other stuff I found as well. I hope there are more days like this since it seems like retro game collecting is dying a bit.

When the first Dark Souls came out it wasn't a huge hit. It found some critical success, but it found its audience (like most RPGs, really). It was obviously successful enough to get a sequel, but it wasn't until Bloodborne came out that the general gaming public at large became aware. It gave a retroactive boost to the previous games in series, and the Scholar of the First Sin version of part II hit the new gen of consoles around the same time.
This is when stuff really blew up. BB was a huge hit, but a console exclusive, so when the next game from the same team wasn't an exclusive, the hype train took over with Part III.
So yeah, in general, I imagine that stuff was just less widely available back around 2012-2014, and the popularity explosive cause a ton of stuff going back to the printers.

In the Hunt is one of those great white buffalo games that I've never seen once in the wild. I know a local collector that found the PS1 jewel case version for $5 at a thrift store. Still sort of hate him for that.

The last two weeks I've seen an uptick in JPN and EU games in and around my various haunts. Last week I missed out on the EU PS3 game Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock. Half Price Books had it for $25 and stupid me didn't secure it soon enough by putting it on hold at the register. I was perusing the section next to where the game was when I heard someone requesting it. They were running a 50% off your highest priced item so I could have snagged it for $12.50. :-\
This week I found another EU game in a place that I infrequent. They had International Cricket 2010 for PS3 and it was only $4. They also had a pair of WiiU Pro Controllers for $12 each. ;D Went across the street to a new comic/game/movie/media shop and found a CIB copy of Clue for Genesis for $3.
-
Super Famicom
-Dragonball Z
-Yu Yu Hakusho
PS4
- Devil May Cry HD Edition
- Nier Automata (arriving Fri)

Had to run back to a shop because they forgot to put the disc in the case when I got it a couple of weeks ago.
Got Oblivion and GTA IV Complete for 360, with Oblivion deeply discounted at $1.
Also picked up a full case version of New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
-
Hit up Gamestop, Walmart and Best Buy after a great time with family for Thanksgiving. Luckily none of these required me to go out of my way to obtain and were readily available when I walked in.

I'm kidding; he's actually a friend. I feel like there's always that tinge of jealousy when someone scores an excellent deal on a game that you wish you would have found, and that's the extent of my feelings about him finding that game for so cheap. I'm happy that he found it though most of all.
Yeah it's incredibly rare in the US for the PS1, and the jewel case version is even more rare.
-

Flea, if you don't mind my asking, I was just curious as to what you do for a living that allows the time, etc for the collection size that you have? All good if you don't want to say.
After saying I wasn't going to get anything on Black Friday Amazon ended up running a Lightning Deal on an 8bitdo N30 Controller. I picked up that as well as a USB receiver and a NES/SNES classic receiver. All the other recent additions to my collection are just backfill.
-
Flea, if you don't mind my asking, I was just curious as to what you do for a living that allows the time, etc for the collection size that you have? All good if you don't want to say.
I work for an airport, that's really all I need to say. I don't have kids (other then me) or a wife that take up my time.
Don't get me wrong, I have had many relationships (and the game collection was never an issue) just never worked out.
I've been collecting video games sense I was young, I always joke I started at 7 when my grandfather bought me my first Atari 2600.
Still have it in my collection to this day. At 16+ I used to ride around on a bike just picking up any old games I could from garage sales.
I buy and sell retro games I find at garage sales, I make some paypal bucks then turn around and buy something I always wanted for my collection. This helps a lot getting rarer games and systems in my collection.
Having a large collection it does make it hard to "play" every game, some I just sample, others I never get around too, especially newer games. I just like preserving video games and its like a large library, sometimes I have people over and I love watching them turn to a kid again and play older games or sometimes they bring their kids and they usually want to play newer stuff and I don't mind.
Had a few crying as their parents try to get them to leave. lol
A large video game collection isn't for everyone, very few have one. I have inspired others in my area to build game rooms and a few are as bad as me. Maybe I'm a bad influence. lol

Maybe I'm a bad influence. lol
I am in awe at the size of your collection.

Flea, if you don't mind my asking, I was just curious as to what you do for a living that allows the time, etc for the collection size that you have? All good if you don't want to say.
I work for an airport, that's really all I need to say.
Ok yeah, that tracks!
*note to self, get job in airport*

I'm kidding; he's actually a friend. I feel like there's always that tinge of jealousy when someone scores an excellent deal on a game that you wish you would have found, and that's the extent of my feelings about him finding that game for so cheap. I'm happy that he found it though most of all.
Yeah it's incredibly rare in the US for the PS1, and the jewel case version is even more rare.
Ah, my bad, all subtlety is lost via text. :-X It is difficult not to feel any pangs of jealousy when someone gets something you really want for next to nothing. I've been after a copy since the PS1 was the current system, couldn't believe it was just sat there on the stall next to a bunch of worthless CDs and DVDs.
Pretty pricy game here in europe as well not to mention the increased price in just 3 to 4 years
I remember this game in europe only being 60 ish max.
TBH I've no idea what it goes for, mine won't be going anywhere unless it's an emergency, been after it too long!
