Title: October 2015 - Recently Added to Collection/Recently Purchased
Post by: gf78 on October 01, 2015, 09:47:13 am
I'll kick the new month off!  Got some cash for my birthday, so I picked up a couple items at Gamestop yesterday.

PlayStation 4
Bloodborne Collector's Edition new/sealed (marked down to $54.99)

PC
Fallout Anthology new/sealed (comes in a big bomb...pretty cool package for $49.99)

PlayStation 2
Three Jampack demo discs complete with manuals in their cases.  I believe I have all of the PS1 and PS2 Jampacks at this point, with the exception of one or two variations where the Walmart edition was Everyone to Teen instead of Everyone to Mature.  I'm not too concerned about it.

Even though I already own Bloodborne, I was pretty happy to see a new/sealed copy of the Collector's Edition as they tend to rise in value pretty consistently (the Soul games and Bloodborne).

The Fallout Anthology is in a partially transparent plastic case.  The games are encased inside a mini nuke that has a button you can press.  It makes the sound of a bomb falling, exploding and is followed by a "cha-ching!" sound.  When you open the bomb, there is a box inside adorned with artwork for the various games and a separate pamphlet for the Anthology outside of the box.  When you open the box, there are individual digi-pak cases (think the cardboard boxes some music CD's come in) for Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout 3, New Vegas, Tactics and Fallout 4.  With the exception of Fallout 4, each box houses a separate disc for the (naturally) matching title.  The digi-paks are glossy with the original cover artwork for each game sans logos.

If you picked them up yesterday technically shouldn't they still be in the September thread?  ::)

Technically that is true....but once the new month kicks off most people stop looking at the previous.  And I'm calling this a freebie since it was my birthday yesterday and damnit...that's how I want it!   :P

Well it's October and garage sales are slowly dying this month. Not a lot of sales but still managed to pick up some cool stuff.

First my online/store buys...

Amiibo
Ordered the UK single carded classic set and just got the first one today.
- Mr. Game & Watch (UK)

PS4
- Samurai Warriors 4 - Limited Edition

VITA
- Persona 4: Dancing All Night - Disco Fever Edition

Stopped at a local used game store and rummaged through their discount bin and found a Wii game and DS games I was missing for 99c.
Wii
- Table Tennis

NDS
- Up
- Shrek's Carnival Craze Party Games
- The Mummy
- New Zealand Story Revolution

I also picked up these...
PS2
- Teen Titans (kinda obscure to find and they where only asking $7)

GEN
I saw this and at first was going to pass, then looked up what it sells for complete and bought it for $30.
- Truxton

Also rummaged through their loose manuals and found a SNES and N64 manual I didn't have. They sell loose manuals for .50c.

GBA
Stopped at a thrift store and saw they got a bunch of GBA games. All marked .79c each. Some had their manuals. So I pretty much bought every game I didn't have.  :P
- Shark Tale
- Home on the Range (with manual)
- Lizzie McGuire 2 (with manual)
- Ms. Pac-Man: Maze Madness (with Manual)
- Madagascar: Operation Penguin
- Digimon Battle Spirit 2
- The Polar Express
- Quad Desert Fury
- The Revenge of Shinobi
Also found a Nintendo AV cable mixed with loose cables box for .99c.

Now for Garage Sales...

Hit a sale and saw a stack of DS and 3DS games. The DS games where marked $7 each and the 3DS where $15 each.  :-\
I asked about a better price and after bartering a while I finally got him to agree to $10 on 3DS and $4 on DS games.
3DS
- Super Mario 3D Land
NDS
- Star Wars the Force Unleashed II
- Tetris Party
- Super Mario 64 DS

PC
Found this random big box PC game complete for $1, figure I might be able to trade it some where.
- Bauldur's Gate

Found a Ms. Pac-Man Plug and Play brand new in box for $2.

Stopped at a sale and saw a stack of PS2 & PS1 games, there wasn't much good and she wanted $2 a piece. I got these 3 for $5.
PS2
- Cabela's Legendary Adventures
- Crash Nitro Kart
- Crash Tag Team Racing (sealed)

At a random sale saw a single 360 game on the table for $1. I only had the collector's edition so why not. Then I see a Game Boy Bag. I pick it up and surprised to see a Game Boy Color (yellow) and so me games in the bag. all for $3.
XB360
- Halo 4
GB/GBC
- Driver
- Paperboy
- The Little Mermaid
- Toy Story

I saw one lonely Game Boy game on the table and ask two goth teens running the sale if they had any other games they wanted to sell. They said they had a bunch of N64 games but didn't know where to look for them at the moment. I tried to get them to look but they wouldn't. I gave them my number in case they find them (I hate just giving out my number because 99% of the time they never call) Then the goth boy says I think I have a Pokemon game, I tell him ya I was interested and he runs to get it. He brings out a GBC games and says he wants $15 for it. While not bad, its not great. So I ask about the battery, does it work? He didn't know. So I offered $10 for both GB games and he agreed.
GB/GBC
- Donkey Kong Land 2
- Pokemon Gold Version (yep dead battery, I think he did know and which is why he let me have it cheaper)

Stopped at a sale and saw a NES system on the table, Saw a sign on it saying $125 on ebay, $50 firm.  :-\
No games, She said someone bought all the games that was with it. but they left a Legendary Wings manual behind. I asked If I could have it and she said ya, take it.  ;)

Hit a sale that was a huge rich people's style house, I walk up and see a table full of gaming stuff. A Wii with a bunch of skylanders, a bunch of Xbox360 games, Wii games, an original Xbox and a Top Loader NES. It was marked for only $10. It was missing the AC adapter so she said she would go $5 for it.  ;D Most of the 360 and Wii games where $10 each but a few where marked $5. I saw a Pokemon Battle Revolution marked at $5 was happy to pick that up. (not pictured) but i make a rookie mistake. I didn't look at the disc. I open it later and see it's Pokepark inside. Still not a bad deal for $5, but it's not the game I needed.  :P

On Saturday I raced out to a sale and got their an hour before they said they would open and saw they where already setting up. I walk up and see a stack of about 30 PS2 games all marked .25c each. When I try and look through them I was told they have been already sold. I turn and see one of the Resellers in my area. (The one I nicknamed "Ditz", because she's a blonde who knows nothing about video games other then they sell, she buys up everything that's not a sport title) The was also some PS1 and Genesis games there and she pretty much took everything. (sigh)  :-\

And finally I stop at a random sale and look around and see nothing but a V-Smile on the table. I ask about games and the old man says how about these? His wife says "oh he wouldn't want those" I look and see 3 GBA games. One good one the other 2 junk. Then she says I think I have a old Nintendo.  :) She tells her son to look for it and he brings out a dirty box with a N64 and 15 games. I ask what she would want for the N64 and the 3 GBA games and was told $25.  ;D
GBA
- Dora the Explorer: Super Star Adventures
- Disney Princess
- Pokemon Emerald Version  :D
N64
- A Grey N64 (jumper pak) with 2 controllers and all hookups. 2 Memory Cards and Rumble Pak.
- Toy Story 2
- Monster Truck Madness 64
- Jeremy Mcgrath Supercross 2000
- Nascar 2000
- Madden NFL 2002
- Bass Hunter 64
- Lego Racers
- Scooby-Doo! Classic Creep Capers
- Wave Race 64
- Cruis'n World
- Elmo's Number Journey
- South Park Rally
- Namco Museum 64
- Super Mario 64
- Pokemon Stadium 2  ;D

Probably not going to see much from garage sales soon, Garage sale season is ending soon where I live. It sucks but also gives me a break from getting up so early and get caught up on playing some of the games I've picked up. lol

I bought 5 damn packs of Animal Crossing Amiibo cards. Didn't think I'd spend that much money on cards  ::) I'll have to try them with Mario Maker this week, it seems like they do something.

Also got on Thursday my CE of Persona 4 Dacing All Night, though I'm still not sure whether I'll keep it or not in the end, so for now it's gonna stay sealed until I decide.

At the beginning of last month I paid $ 25 bucks for a copy of Dragon Warrior II (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragon_Quest_II) for the NES, did received a copy of it but a with some details at the label and a broken part at the cartridge so I asked not for a refund but for the one that I saw at Mercado's Libre page, this past Friday received the good one and sent back the other one, to be quite honest this game it's not the big deal but when I was a teenager used to saw an anime called Las aventuras de Fly (https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragon_Quest:_Las_aventuras_de_Fly), years later a friend told me that this game was a port from that cartoon so decided to add some of these titles to my collection just because of those awesome moments that I used to spent in front of the TV  ;D

The Amiibo of R.O.B is hyper-detailed.  I used hyper because super doesn't do it justice.  His eyes look like lenses on the original ROB.  He has a little power switch in the back, just like ROB.  And the little plate with the Nintendo logo and info that is on the front of the base is all there.

I also got second copies of Gran Turismo 2 and Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition because I didn't keep the boxes when I got those games as a kid.

While perusing Amazon Warehouse, I found a cheap *new* Nintendo 3DS, the "normal" sized not XL model. Looking to upgrade from my 2DS I quickly purchased it, only later to realize that this was a Japanese Import and not a US model, which I guess only comes in the Animal Crossing Iteration so far. I'm sure we've all operated on the "Buy First, Ask Questions Later" method, and easy returns if I was too dumb to do anything with it from not being able to read Japanese so kept the order.

When it arrived (on a Sunday, no less) it was basically Brand New! I'm wondering if it wasn't a "dinger" model as the box edges are a little bent as you can see but nothing inherently awful. Looks like all the papers are there, the AR Cards still sealed and the 3DS was in the foam bag/package. (the top faceplate was also separate in a bag, not pictured because I attached it already lol)

I had a little bit of a problem setting it up at first (accidentally updated the firmware, oops, but it turned out not to be an issue), but luckily importing this model was a common occurrence on account of it not shipping right away with the XL models to the US, so there was a lot of documentation on setting up the eShop and etc. Thankfully all the menus are the same as well and I copied off of my 2DS when needed.

After all that kanji, I somehow managed to get the homebrew launcher installed via the youtube app in order make it Region Free so I can play my current collection of 3DS games. Not sure what imports to get yet or anything, will probably just look over a list of english friendly 3DS imports first, and check out a few demos of games that come out before the US versions.

I also street passed myself from my 2DS account. Seems kind of awkward lol.

I'm not sure what I'll eventually end up doing with this after I play around with it for a little while. I basically just bought it as an upgrade to my 2DS and was looking at the normal sized model over the XL, for whatever reason. The imports are cool and all but I can easily just put Homebrew Launcher on a US model. Kind of silly but the fact I have to restart streetpass is the most upsetting, and I do have a digital Pokemon X copy on my US Account so we'll see. Might try to eventually trade this straight up for someone who's actually interested in imports and hopefully upgraded from a *new* 3DS to a different LE model. All in all I'm happy with the purchase though, just coming in at slightly over $100, a steal for any *new* 3DS regardless of model or region.

Wow, that's a great price! I eventually want to get a Japanese New 3DS too, but so far they're too pricey for the use they would currently get. At $100 though, I might have jumped on it too  ::)

You could just replace the faceplates on the Animal Crossing model. A more widespread, standard edition release would be nice to see though.

I hope that New 3DS model will somehow make it to NA shores; I like how simple and sleek it looks compared to the animal crossing model.

You could just replace the faceplates on the Animal Crossing model. A more widespread, standard edition release would be nice to see though.

That's definitely going to be my problem, wanting all the faceplates. I am working on something sneaky right now though with trying to 3D print some so we'll see...

Im planning a PS tattoo. I want the button array done on my bicep.

I bounced around the idea of what I wanted for quite a while.  The three I narrowed down to were the four symbols arranged in a diamond pattern like the controller layout, the PS logo in black or the PS logo in color.  I opted for the PS logo in black to begin.

Now I'm contemplating the four symbols and how I want them.  I have considered having them placed around the PS logo and done in color.  Or down the inside of my left forearm in black.  Decisions, decisions....

On a related note, I was thinking of getting the Xbox logo on my butt.  Y'know...since the Xbox is crap and all it just seems fitting.   :P ;)

I can't wait to crack it open and give it a go.  As a Transformers fan since day one, this game looks like the cartoon come to life, but even better.  More like the Dreamwave comics come to life!

Not sure why I havent mentioned it. I found a new local game store that advertised on Craig's list and also said that they have some imports. Showed up and they had a SFC copy of Dragon Quest V and VI CIB. They were in such nice condition that it was like they were just taken out of the cellophane and put it in that case for sale. Got the pair for $30. It may not be the steal of the century but finding 2 DQ JP games locally in that condition I had to bite.

Garage sale season is slowly coming to an end but still had a couple finds.

First my store/online pickups...

Amiibo
- Duck Hunt Dog (EU)
- R.O.B. (EU)

Picked up a couple Disney Infinity figures on a clearance table for $3 a piece.
- Tinklebell
- Jasmine

- Animal Crossing New Nintendo 3DS

PS4
- Disgaea 5

VITA
Found this on clearance for $6.
- Tearaway

PSP
Found this on clearance for $4.
- Lego Star Wars III

Now for the Garage Sales...

On Thursday I only had one find all day. I asked the lady about games and she brings out a PSP with some games. At first she brings out the wrong charger then while hunting for it brings out some more games, A NDS Lite and a Silver Gamecube. After some negotiating we agreed on $60 for everything.
PSP
- A PSP (101 model) with charger
- Major League Baseball 2K7
- World Tour Soccer 06
- WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw 2008
- MIdnight Club L.A. Remix
- Iron Man 2
- Bust-a-Move Deluxe
- Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
- Dynasty Warriors
PS3
- Dynasty Warriors 6
PS2
- Rune: Viking Warlord
NDS
A Nintendo DS Lite (Blue)
GC
- A Nintendo Gamecube (silver)

On Friday the first sale I hit advertised Wii and games. I get there and I see a Reseller scanning the Wii games, As he did that I look underneath the table and see a Gamecube for $5. I grab it and see he didn't look happy. Then I see a Bag full of Skylanders and Disney Infinity I ask what kind of deal for the whole bag and she says $25. One of the figures was brand new in the package. Also had 3 of the portals.

The only other find was a Gamewave Game System that was brand new for $10.

On Saturday a sale advertised Video Games and get there early and the guy had mostly 360 Sport games but I did find 2 games and a Boxed Hyper Scan. all for $5.
XB
- Doom 3 - Limited Edition
NDS
- Steel Horizon

Only other thing I picked up was a Assassin's Creed III Steelbook for .25c

Nothing super great, but still some decent finds.

I found a wired Afterglow 360 controller for $3.99. Works great but just needs new analog sticks as you can see, which I'm unsure of which to get to replace them; either keeping it stock grey/black or going with a translucent colored replacement or something. It's the Blue LED model, and they are pretty bright and kind of annoying to have on all the time lol. There's an "active" mode along with on/off so maybe that triggers the LEDs when the rumble is activated. I tested the controller on my pc with a retro Steam game so no rumble there lol.

Just ordered it on eBay last night along with a 20-inch Samsung 1080p TV!

I still have no games :( I need to wait until next payday to fund shipping so I can sell a few more things (already sold a bit to pay for the Xbox and TV). But at least I can enjoy my Wii U and 360 in full 1080p glory. and play with the Xbox One hardware a little.

I preordered the LE Corpse Party and am patiently waiting to play it tomorrow! I haven't played the other two in the series but will probably pick them up on the PSN if they go on sale around Halloween  :)
Good choice on picking it up now. I feel like down the road it will be hard to come by

Some people says that second parts are never better than the first one, have to admit that for a long time thought the same until Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zelda_II:_The_Adventure_of_Link), I was never a big fan of the saga in fact the titles from this franchise are in my collection because one of my cousins, he used to love his gold cartridge more than anyone that I know that's why that today am adding this game to my collection, it's a shame that he no longer play videogames (marriage) but is even more sadder that this situation is happening a lot to almost all the male members of my family anyway for this little fella I paid $ 18.12 bucks but it was worth it, just check the pictures of the label  ;D

Zelda II, while definitely different, is a fantastic game that I still love to playthrough. I still can't beat the final palace, though. That damn Shadow Link is impossible, especially after having little life left after that hard as nails palace.

That is sad, but don't erroneously believe that marriage is the end of gaming.  Sure, being married takes up more of your time and you don't have the same opportunities to sit around gaming, etc.  But if your new spouse tries to make you stop doing things you love like gaming, then they are trying to change you and are not happy with the person you truly are.

I see too many times a person trying to change who their mate/spouse/significant other is after they get together.  This is unhealthy and always leads to problems.  Sorry for the soapbox, but it bums me out when I see someone I know who has played games their entire life walking through the game section at Walmart (or wherever) and their spouse telling them "Forget it!  You don't have time to play games!"

You are complete right at my family am the clear example that being married doesn't mean the end of videogames but I do have to admit that I don't have all the time for playing and purchasing games as before, dunno why but got the idea that once you stop playing it means game over that I will get older more faster and crap really want to avoid that  :P

For me I guess that I was lucky enough cause my wife used to play titles, when I have the videogame talk with her she confess me that she used to play some Silent Hill and Resident Evil titles at that moment totally knew that she was the one for me but you are right if that person wants to change how you are you already know that this kind of shit will happen, dunno what's the situation of my cousins but hell will froze before I stop playing  ;D

Picked up some cheap  gs ds games: nanostray 1+2, elite beat agents, and henry hatsworth all cart only.
I also managed to find a Front Mission DS  cart at the same location, which I'm pumped about since I've been looking for a while for a good price on this game, especially since its one of the rarest ds releases, and it has a bunch of upgrades compared to the original sfc version.

Picked up a couple of 3DS games this week.

Smash Bros was $17.99 from Gamefly, case and manual and all inserts look great but the cartridge is kind of bubbily. Not bad, should have expected from a formal rental. Also got Adventure Time: Hey Ice King, Why'd you steal our Garbage? for $9 from Amazon Warehouse.

Nothing needs to be said about Smash Bros of course, but I have to say Adventure Time: Hey Ice King, Why'd you steal our Garbage? is a pretty good game despite having the worst name for anything ever. It is very "Zelda 2" in it's mechanics, from the way it handles gameplay from items and weapon upgrades from progression, fetch quests and dungeons (towers) to overworld maps. I know almost next to nothing about Adventure Time and I'm still enjoying it, so I imagine then experience to be that much better if you knew more about the universe you are immersed in, but its certainly not a prerequisite. Might be a Hidden gem, for those that wouldn't consider it otherwise on account of not following the franchise.

Most hand-drawn animation nowadays looks like crap, or it's CGI.

I've even gone back and tried to watch something like Beavis & Butthead.  It just looks terrible.  Overall I agree, hand-drawn animation looks worse than ever.  But add in the terrible design elements of Adventure Time (IMO) and it looks both goofy and terrible to me.

Well, Beavis and Butthead isn't the best example to use from then. That is also the same time as Batman the Animated Series and Dragonball Z.

Here's my pickups over the last couple weeks. I've been trying to limit myself to buying things I'll actually play/use soon, rather than cheap stuff that will sit on one of my shelves for who knows how long before I play it.

-Animal Crossing Amiibo Card Pack
-Corpse Party: Blood Drive - Everafter Edition (PS Vita)
-Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance - Limited Edition (PS4) ;D ;D ;D
-Nintendo 3DS Expansion Slide Pad [JP]

You have a point about Beavis & Butthead, but I'm also not a fan of the Batman art style or a lot of the anime that gets released.

Since you mentioned Dragon Ball Z, have you seen the video on youtube of the blonde crackhead at the McDonald's drive-thru trying to get Chicken McNuggets?  She tells the cashier "don't make me assume my ultimate form" and that she's going to go super saiyan on her ass.  One of the best videos.  Ever.

I'm not sure as I just noticed when my buddy opened the drawer of new PS4 games, but I believe they had a copy of Disgaea that was in a box instead of just the standard case.  Your local Gamestop can source a game from another store and have it shipped to them in any event.  I've done that several times at my local store when they found collector's editions, Amiibo's, etc. at another location.

Well, called the store a moment ago before I finished this post.  They sold their last one.  But definitely have your local store check inventory.  They can see if that CE is in stock at any location across the US.

I've made use of them tracking stuff down from other stores with varying degrees of success. I'm stopping into my old store tomorrow to pay on some reservations, I'll see if they can track one down possibly.  :)

Back on topic...I've been cleaning out the basement in anticipation for a future move and I've been finding all kinds of stuff that hasn't been listed to the collection such as Pin Bot CIB, Super Pinball: Behind the Mask CIB, and a ton of manuals for various systems that I need to sort/post.  :P

I've spent a lot this month on new release stuff, not something I usually do. Not sure why I did it, but when I walked into GameStop to get Woolly World and saw the blue and pink Yoshi... I knewhadtohaveit-knewihadtohaveit-knewihadtohaveit!. I'm not even an amiibo collector, but I have a hard time resisting Yoshi stuff.

That XBox One looks like a massive beast, just waiting to be tamed, sitting there on my entertainment center...taunting me.

I was at Pink Gorilla in Seattle for a Streetpass meet up.
I bought Super Bomberman 3 & Rushing Beat Ran for SFC and Virtua Fighter for Game Gear. The DBZ scroll was given away to those who showed up.  That Little Mac amiibo I bought from someone else who was there. He sold it for $15, so it's a little above retail.
I also just got Lucha Libre Heroes Del Ring for PS3. Less than $20 new at Fred Meyer.

Garage sales this weekend was weak, only about 20 sales total. But still found a few things.
But I did pick up two rare game consoles to my collection.

Here's what little I found from garage sales...

A stack of 15 V-Smile games for $4.  :P

Found a silver Gamecube for $2, just missing controller and Adapter.

Stopped at a random sale and saw a box with a bunch of PS2 sport games, found one I was missing and asked price and was told .10c.
PS2
- Winning Eleven 6

The first sale I hit was one that advertised "Wii Games" I get there and only see a box full of PS2 games. I pick out a few and ask about the Wii games, She said they where still in her car because she was asked to hold a list of games for a neighbor.  :-\
She brings the bag with about 10 games in it and starts to go over a list, none of the games where anything special but after she pulls out the games for her neighbor there was only 3 games left. Only one i was missing and they where only $2 a piece.
PS2
- Sprint Cars: Road to Knoxville
- Star Wars: The Clone Wars-Republic Heroes
- Crash of the Titans
- Ape Escape 3
Wii
- Build'n Race
Also I found a box full of pokemon cards and saw two Pokemon Strategy Guides in there for .50c a piece.

Now for Store/Online buys...

PS4
- Dragon Quest Heroes - Collector's Edition

WiiU
- Yoshi's Wooly World (with Amibo)

Amiibo
- Blue Yoshi Wooly
- Pink Yoshi Wooly

3DS
- Legend of Legacy - Limited Edition

NDS
- Dragon Quest V

GBA
I stopped at a local game store and he asks me if I wanted these two Pirate games. I offer a cheap price for the pair and he was happy to get rid of them.

NES/GEN
A fellow collector showed me a odd NES/GEN controller brand new in the box called Grip-It, he offered it to me at the price he paid for it years ago and I figured sure, why not.

After selling a ton of my extras I was able to pickup two rare game consoles I've been on the hunt for. Both I picked up for way under what most people sell them for.

First is the Sharp Famicom Titler, This was an odd system where one could play Famicom games and write messages on the screen. It is in brand new shape. Looks like it was never used at all.

The second is a Commodore 64GS, It's basically a consoled version of the C64. It was only released in Europe and usually sells for more then I'd want to pay for one. It's not in perfect shape, had a big scratch in it but I payed way under what people want for one. It also came with one game that has 4 mini games on it.

I had a good day this morning. I was working my little shift at Gamestop when this older lady came in and asked if we took Gameboy color games. I told her no but told her a few places that did. I asked if I could see the games and she pulls out 3 sealed games. Zelda seasons, Zelda ages, and Super mario bros deluxe. I started to shake at the knees a little. I told her I was definitely interested and asked her what she wanted for them. She said I could have them. I was shocked. She then said they were going to go on her garage sale for $1 each. I gave her the $3 and then she handed me over 3 more sealed Gamecube games. 2 copies of the collector's edition of Zelda and the Ocarina of time Master quest.

6 sealed games for $3 ................ I've been freaking out all day. :O

That's amazing!  My bf has lucked out a few times at GS during his shifts - someone gave him a black label copy of FFVII, and we've gotten a few other goodies that were free since people didn't want to bother with selling them elsewhere.  The one good thing about GS not taking old games... yet ;)

I gave her the $3 and then she handed me over 3 more sealed Gamecube games. 2 copies of the collector's edition of Zelda and the Ocarina of time Master quest.

6 sealed games for $3 ................ I've been freaking out all day. :O

Wanna double your money  :P lol

Nice catch! what are you going to do with that second sealed OoT/MQ?

Yo flea! Got a question.

How do you find garage sales to go to? Do you just drive around or do you have a method?

I had a good day this morning. I was working my little shift at Gamestop when this older lady came in and asked if we took Gameboy color games. I told her no but told her a few places that did. I asked if I could see the games and she pulls out 3 sealed games. Zelda seasons, Zelda ages, and Super mario bros deluxe. I started to shake at the knees a little. Yo flea! Got a question.

Several ways, first I look up my local newspaper's and see what they list, then check craigslist and see what they list. Once I find the ones that list gaming stuff I pick which one(s) to hit first and then while am heading for the next one I hit every sale I see a sign for on the way. There are a few other tricks I use, come garage sale'n with me and you see for your self.  ;)

Great deal Soera, gotta love those kind of deals.  ;)

Some of the stuff here I've had for a while. I just never got around to posting.

Damn there are indeed pretty good additions and no offense but the way you used to take the image is fucking amazing just wondering if the one at back of the Mario NES cartridge is a N64  ???

The fact that you are so close makes this tempting. Talk to me next spring/summer when the sales start up again and I may just have a post like Flea in here guys.

Congratulations.  I know what I would have done...probably creamed my jeans!   :o  In all seriousness, those games are what I would consider "pillars" in a Zelda collection.  They are some of the hardest and/or most expensive to obtain.

I finally have a PSP now! Bought it from a fella for $50. Came with God Of War Chains of Olympus, Kingdom Hearts birth by sleep and GTA Liberty City Stories! It also had a Memory stick with Some games on it like Tekken 6, Mega Man Maverick Hunter X among others.
(https://scontent.fsjc1-3.fna.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpa1/v/t1.0-9/s720x720/12118983_10203688353608358_6964791474942322572_n.jpg?oh=829beea354d33a9fbe65933d6b2bfdb7&oe=568C75F0)

Edit: Well...shoot. Those games on the memory stick can no longer be accessed. When I registered it on my PS3, I guess it rendered the original seller's account useless. Oh well, I'm still happy I got it.
On the plus side, anybody remember when Sony suffered that security breach 4 years back and they gave us a selection of free games to make up for it? I downloaded a couple of the PSP games they gave out so now I can FINALLY play them after they were sitting in my HDD for so long!
They are, Pursuit Force and Pinball Heroes, with an Uncharted themed board.

Stopped in to a local place to check the 32x stash, and luckily they still have some stuff, but I'm gonna space it out over a few weeks. Here's what I grabbed today. Already had Doom, but for $5 I thought the manual was worth having.

Nice going!  The PSP was/is a really great handheld.  Make sure to pick up a copy of Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles.  It has the new game and the original versions of Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night.  You can find brand-new/sealed copies for under $20.

Nice! Yeah, we're considering getting the internal Elgato or another internal CC, but we love our regular HD for the component capabilities. We do a lot of streaming with older consoles, too.

It took me a while but finally managed to get my copy of Lollipop Chainsaw (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lollipop_Chainsaw) for the 360, being a zombie fan this game cannot be outside of my library, being honest the true is that I want to see Juliet in her Sexy Rider Suit (http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120612163454/lollipopchainsaw/images/8/8e/Lollipop_Chainsaw_Skins_Xbox_360_DLC_Sexy_Rider.jpg) outfit but definitely didn't wanted to purchased a new one or even pay more than 25 bucks for it so I searched and was able to found a used one at Mercado Libre for the price of $ 14.48, it was a pretty good deal since it is in a very nice condition and the best part is that the seller gave me the chance to pay it in two weeks  8)

Man, all these game groups I keep seeing people getting these massive deals, or people just giving them stuff. Over and over again.

How do you guys keep having this lucky. I can scour yard sale after yard sale, pawn shop after pawn shop; and I'm lucky if I come across cartridges of any kind.

I have pretty pitiful luck finding great deals like Soera's.  One thing I have found out is that people who need money or just have games to get rid of inevitably end up walking into Gamestop with a box of stuff.  Gamestop (as of right now anyway) don't take these oldies, and the people either end up selling the stuff to the employees for cheap or just leaving it to them.  Gamestop employees often end up with collector's edition goodies this way too since Gamestop only takes the games along with the case and instructions.  A friend of mine from Gamestop gave me an entire, unused Halo Reach Legendary Edition sans the game because someone traded it in.  I guess company policy is to just pitch the extras, but don't quote me on it.

Pawn shops can be completely hit or miss.  There are a dozen within short driving distance from me.  Most only deal with PS360 and newer.  Some of them think they are savvy and try to charge internet prices for their games.  Others don't give a crap.  One sells any PS3 or Xbox 360 games they get for $7.50 and Wii games are $5.  Smaller pawn shops on the outskirts of town or outside city limits don't even put prices on their stuff.  I ended up with Mario Sunshine 1 & 2 and Zelda Twilight Princess & Skyward Sword for $20 (which I traded into Gamestop for over $100 on a promo they were running!).

Another good place to look is a storage shed place that doubles as a flea market on the weekends.  Many times you will see games that are overpriced.  I just make them an offer and they usually take it.  The last game I picked up at a weekend storage place was Resident Evil Code:  Veronica X for the PS2 complete in box.  It had a sticker that said $10 on it.  It had been there awhile.  The owner said he would take $8 for it and I told him all I had was a fiver.  He said deal.  You don't have to be a hardcore haggler to get a deal.

For me my best finds ever come from asking people at garage sales if they have anything because they may you know forget about the nes with a handful of games up in the attic or didn't really think anyone would spend money on it since their games and systems stored away are 15, 20+ years old.

the exact line I use is "you don't by chance happen to have any video games do you?" or some variation their upon, then I wait to see/hear their reaction a quick no means they either don't have any or they don't want to sell which ends the attempt,.

If they say no but It takes them a bit to say it like they are thinking or are hesitant then they probably have games in the house but are unsure if they should sell them. On these I usually start by telling them that "well I'm just wondering because I actually collect video games" and start a conversation with them and probably 70-80% of the time IF they actually have games they will go inside and bring out a few and I just pick from there ( I personally always ask what they want for them and If its a good deal I do not haggle even if I know I will get a better deal, If they over price it then that is when I haggle)

sometimes you will hear "Yeah we have games but my (insert relative here) plays them." In this instance I ask "You wouldn't know If you have anything older that they don't play anymore do you?" This is a lot less with probably only 20-30% success rate to see the games and they are usually picked clean of any good titles but sometimes you get lucky and can get some very good things.

The best Is a hesitation and "well what are you looking for?" this usually means they have something older like play station and backwards or a handheld, my answer is "anything really I collect video games, so If your have something you are willing to bring something out then Im willing to look at it." this is how I get the majority of my cartridge and handheld games.

Also just remember that any garage sale Is ran by a person so basically just act how you would like to be acted towards "hello", "how are you", "nice weather we are having", ect before asking any questions will open more doors than you would think at a garage sale. and as such if you know their initial offer is a fantastic deal ie $5 for a game you know sells for $50 in its current condition don't try and haggle it down as they are just trying to make a few bucks off of stuff they don't use anymore.

All good pointers.  Asking a question never hurts.  I've also found that if you use Facebook, there are a lot of Buy/Sell/Trade pages with local listings.  I missed it the other day, but my wife showed me a guy selling a mint condition, complete copy of Super Smash Bros. Melee for the Gamecube for $25.  Not a steal per se, but a good price for this game.  Not only can you peruse what people have listed, you can make your own post asking of advertising that you are in the market for gaming goods.

Got a black PSP 3001 system.  It has a few light scratches on the finish if you really look for them.  Otherwise it looks and plays like new.

Not much from garage sales this weekend, mostly scraps. I'll be lucky if garage sales are still going on here in the next couple weeks.

Garage sales...

XB360
Found a box full of 360 sport games for $1 each. Picked out the few I was missing.
- Madden NFL 06
- Madden NFL 07 Hall of Fame Edition
- NBA Live 06

Wii
A sale advertised Wii + games, buy the time I got there it was pretty much scraps. Got these 3 Wii games and a PSP game for $5.
- Rock Band
- Rock Band Track Pack vol. 1
- SSX Blur
PSP
- Need for Speed Underground Rivals

Wii
Saw this in a free box and figured, sure why not. lol
- Nerf N-Strike (disc only)

PS1
At a sale I see a Playstation in really bad shape on a table. I open it up and see a game in it. I ask about the game and the lady said .25c.
- Final Fantasy Tactics

I see a sale advertise "Tons of Xbox 360 & PS2 games" I get there and hour early and it wasn't open yet and I was the only one there so far. after about 20 minutes the resellers start showing up. I waited near the garage door and someone comes out of the house to start setting up. one of them rushes to ask her about the games and I say hey, excuse me I was here first. Then he yells at me "I don't care" and continues to ask prices before they even opened the door. She says $6 and he gets all pissed and leaves. Then another reseller comes and telling a sob story how he needs these games to feed his family and how he lost his job playing on my guilt. This is the sort of thing I gotta deal with here. So they finally open the door and I hit the games and see mostly Xbox 360 games but there was a mix of XB, PS1, PS2 and GC. I quickly grab anything I might be interested in while the reseller started scanning everything. He leaves thinking there was nothing of value left and I noticed he left a game I didn't pick up at first because it was a disc (and manual) only game. This game loose is worth about $20. I figured well if he didn't want it.  :P
Most resellers if it doesn't have a bar code to scan they know nothing about it. So I ask if she would take $20 for 5 games and she said sure.
XB
- Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb
- Ninja Gaiden
- Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Game of the Year Edition
GC
- Yu-Gi-Oh! The Falsebound Kingdom
- Eternal Darkness (this was the one the reseller passed on)  :P

Now for the few store/online buys...

Target had a bunch of the Mario Maker Rubik's Cubes on the Clearance for $2.

PS4
- Tales of Zestiria - Collector's Edition

PS3
- Dragon's Age Inquisition (on clearance for $10)

DC
A new homebrew Dreamcast game  :)
- Ghost Blade

Nice find with Eternal Darkness. I don't care for CIB games but won't pass up a difficult-to-find item like that one... A sign of an actual game collector - one who doesn't need UPCs to know if a game is worth picking up!

Picked these games up from the Gamestop 4 for $10.
Twisted Metal PS3 (they even upgraded the generic case copy they had out on the floor that I originally grabbed)
Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe PS3
Midnight Club Los Angeles PS3
Kirby's Epic Yarn Wii, no manual on this one but still a good price regardless.

They weren't feeling it on Warioland Shake it, which is what I actually wanted the most, and Bayonetta, which I just grabbed to originally fill out the 4. Their list was a lot smaller than the internet master list I was going off of, so I guess my mistake was asking about it for some reason previous to the checking out process and instead of asking if the games didn't scan correctly so whatever reason. Dude said he scanned the other 2 games that "weren't part of the sale" according to their list, but I doubt it. No big deal though, enough gamestops around to hit up a few more and keep my mouth shut.  ;)

The Masterlist I was going off of is here (https://www.cheapassgamer.com/topic/350300-gamestop-4-for-10-used-game-sale/?p=12994248) for those that want to check it out. As always, they had standup displays marked 4 for $10 but all the "good stuff" was still mixed in against the wall where they usually are.

It took me a while but finally have received my copy of Metroid: Other M (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metroid:_Other_M), this title has created a lot of controversy about if it's good or bad so have to admit that I had my doubts about this purchase but two things took my attention, the first one is that this title at the timeline is the "continuation" of Super Metroid (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Metroid) and the events of it are before Metroid Fusion (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metroid_Fusion) and since these two games are my favorites didn't have another choice to add it into my collection, the second reason is that Team Ninja was the developer of this game and am a big fan of the DOA girls, well don't have to say that I didn't resisted the temptation of seeing Samus in her Zero Suit, paid only $ 16.30 bucks for it so really it wasn't that expensive  ;D

Keep hitting the local spot I talk about that has a lot of 90s leftover stock. They've got a lot of Genesis to pick from, trying to decided what to get. They have about everything except MUSHA. Went with these two.

I just traded 2 more Amiibo cards, and with that I only have 1 missing card :) (I'm not trying to complete the whole 100 series, just the ones that I really liked). I guess I'm going to put an ad for it on Kijiji.

As a fan of the 1st movie I'm really amazed by the fildelity of the visuals and the SF-terror atmosphere they put into this game. Having a lot of fun with the stealth oriented gameplay and the ton of details that were crafted in the environments.

I went out to the sales and only found three sales that had video games. I'll be surprised if I find much more this year from garage sales. This weekend it was cold and rainy and only about 15 sales where even open.

My Garage sale pickups...

First sale I hit was one that advertised "video games" I get there early and waited for them to open and I was surprised no one else showed up. It opens and only thing I see video game is a PS2 slim. I ask about games and the lady said the lady selling them forgot to bring them. She says she'll bring them tomorrow. But then she says she had a few things inside she could sell and brings out some XB360 games. There was a few I was missing and they where only $1 a piece so I picked up those.

XB360
- Deca Sports Freedom
- Madden NFL 13
- Lego Star Wars III the Clone Wars
- Lego Marvel Super Heroes

Another sale advertised "Wii Game" so I hit there next. I get there and see nothing at first. I figured it sold. I ask about it and she points to it in the corner of the garage. I see a Wii Box marked $30. I open it up and see there's no system in the box. Just a couple Wii Nunchuks (one sealed) I tell her there's no System in the box and what she would want for the sealed Nunchuk. She said $1 and I pay her. Then she takes the box and talks about throwing it away. I tell her I'll take it and she gives me the box and everything inside (even the other nunchuk) for free.  :)

Next sale I ask the man there and he said he thinks he has a couple Commodore 64 games, he points out a boxed Q*bert and a Loose Music maker cart. I ask how much and he says $1.

Last the next day I go back to that first sale and get there and find out the lady selling the PS2 games hasn't shown up yet. As I wait the lady asks her kids if they have anything else video game they want to sell and the kids bring out a large stack of DS games and a (white) DSi. Only one problem. All but four games where just empty cases. The kids had no idea where the games where. So she makes me an offer of $15 for everything. So of course I had to buy them. Then the other lady shows up with a stack of PS2 and XB360 games. Asking only $1 a piece. Most all of it was crappy games and I only saw 2 PS2 games I was missing so I got those.
PS2
- G.I. Joe the Rise of Cobra
- Go Diego Go: Safari Rescue
NDS
- My Sims Agents
- Super Scribblenauts
- Spider-Man: Web of Shadows
- Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night
- Mario Kart DS (loose)
Wish all those empty cases had games.

Now for store/online pickups...

XBone
- Halo 5 Guardians - Limited Edition (I originally had the legendary on reserve but when I found out it was a digital copy of the game I switch over the the limited version.)
- Assassin's Creed: Syndicate - Collectors Edition

NES
RetroUSB had there limited Annual Christmas game come out so I had to order a copy.
- 8-Bit X-Mas 2015

A Hideo Koj!ma Book (from the makers of Retro Gamer)

PlayStation
PlayStation / Pepsi store kiosk!  Found this guy online and pretty close to home!  It's an original 1997 PlayStation with two standard (pre-dualshock) controllers and a Sony Trinitron TV.  It's all housed in a frame where you can see the system through a plexiglass shield.  The frame is solid steel (pretty heavy!) with PlayStation and Pepsi logos all over it.  I put a pic in my gallery.

I've also added some items that I had sitting around.  Another PlayStation system, a memory card, pencils, pens, pins, a beanie, rain poncho, etc.
