I just finished sorting/organizing/auditing my collection with spreadsheets (and it turns out that I have 10 more games than I had on my collection here), and I'm officially 9 games away from my first 1000! I just need to decide what my 1000th will be...

You need to get a rare, high quality game for number 1000.  I think Madden 95 would be a good choice.

My friends want this to be #1000.



I don't even smoke, they just picked the silliest shovelware game that they could find.

Picked up a CIB copy of WarioLand 4 for $5 (also a copy of Evangelion 2.22 for $4) from a local video store that's liquidating their stock. Sad to see them go...

It's certainly noble, but I'd rather spend my money on collectibles that I know I'd like. Subscribing to a general "lol so geeky" thing just ain't me, at least not right now. Like, I wouldn't be caught dead with anything from Attack on Titan, and I don't care for Game of Thrones, and they've made entire crates dedicated to them. The value of the items is quite good, though.

tl;dr: seems cool, but to recite your point, I'd end up with a LOT of useless shit.

I wouldn't sell any of my games. It's simply out of the question. If I was caught in that much of a bind, I'd sell movies/music before that. After that, I simply refuse. I don't think I'll ever be in that situation, because I'm a bit of a spendthrift. And if I am in that situation, god help me.
