Thanks

Played the hell out of Genesis JP and Rampage Edition back in the day, but it does sadly look like just a Ocean release. Jurassic Park (NES) was terrible. Do not recommend. I've never played the others so I am still interested. No way it's gonna have the 3DO or Lost World games.

Co-branded games go into the category of the oldest console.

Thanks the explanation and pointing me to the discussion, but ugh, no...... Let each user decide how they want the data represented in their collection.

It was a close vote, so people are really split on it. I think that no matter which option had come out on top, there would be equal amount of complaints about it. This is really just a situation where a different behaviour or design of how the site works with the data (ie: how it is displayed to the user) would be the ideal way to remedy things like this.

Especially since there still is no real way to handle true multi-platform things, such as accessories that with with Sega/Nintendo or Playstation/Xbox/PC (because it is USB) or Micros/SMS or the multi-platform Micro games that were mentioned earlier. At least for accessories we have a generic category we put them in.

What was the final tally for each category? Had I realized there was a vote, I would have picked the way the manufacturer marketed the game. With a close vote, the correct answer is let each user decided how the data is displayed to them individually at the game level. For two examples, I want Gears Tactics as Xbox One (older console) and Sneak King as Xbox 360 (newer console). Why not have two entries in the database for Gears Tactics, one on Xbox One and the other on Series X, saying this is the same game just you the user are selecting the one you want in your collection?

Why did Sneak King (https://www.vgcollect.com/item/11185) move platforms from Xbox 360 to Xbox? It was Xbox 360 for a long time, and that my vote for its location as:

  • Sneak King released one year into the Xbox 360 lifecycle
  • compatibility is listed for Xbox 360 before original Xbox on the box art
  • both Burger King and Microsoft advertised it for the new 360 console

If folks want an Xbox version listed, entries for both platforms should exist. Then last - whoever initiated this, missed the other 67% of King Games in this situation - Big Bumpin' (https://www.vgcollect.com/item/11184) and PocketBike Racer (https://www.vgcollect.com/item/11186).

Please move Sneak King back to Xbox 360 platform. Thank you

Interesting to see it happens from Canadian to non-Canadian too!

Thanks for confirming the entry now named "World in Conflict: Soviet Assault [CA]" was created by me. That means it originally had the name "World in Conflict: Soviet Assault." I'm impressed that the tiny picture was enough for an editor to realize it was the Canadian image. I certainly can't tell that until I googled for additional images for the game box yesterday to learn the Canadian version has two sets of red text after "PC DVD" in the top left. I wasn't asked and believe I am still active. For new entries, I'll add barcodes. As for entries I didn't create like Rage - Anarchy Edition, the box art https://vgcollect.com/images/front-box-art/24617.jpg is still too small to read French on it. One would have to notice there's just more text on the box art than the US release. I certainly missed the one liner in the Box text field of the entry "Par les créateurs de Doom et Quake" to give it away or the slightly different barcode - 093155117488 vs 093155117457. I have been operating under the assumption that the title took precedence over the supplemental material of images or box text, but I see here it is in fact the opposite.

I have about 1500 titles but don't own any Canadian versions of North America releases. I've noticed when scrolling through my collection every once in a while that some of my entries now have the format "<name of title> - [CA]" That's easy to change because it still falls under the category of "<console> - [NA]". Seems the person(s) doing that are good at providing screenshots of the Canadian boxes. What's worse is there's usually NOT an entry left as the standard [NA] release! You might think I just misread or am lazy and picked the only [NA] entry available; however, I'm pretty good at adding entries when they don't exist. I just did it today for two titles in response to the above and have done it in the past. I'm certainly fine with NA - CA releases being in the database, but annoyed I have to remove from them my collection and add/create the general [NA] entry.

Is there anyway to prevent the stealth changing of [NA] releases to [NA] CA releases?

Ones I made today: https://www.vgcollect.com/item/202079 and https://www.vgcollect.com/item/202080

Hi,

This isn't a GBC game https://www.vgcollect.com/item/100063. It looks like there is a correct GB entry here https://www.vgcollect.com/item/14103

Interestingly, the wrong entry has a good photo of the cartridge which should migrate over to the correct entry.

Hello,

I just proposed edits to two games, which will likely be rejected due to lack of understanding of the subtle differences:

https://www.vgcollect.com/item/179324 to "Blaster Master Zero (includes all banner)"

https://www.vgcollect.com/item/179325 to "Blaster Master Zero II (includes all banner)"

Please do not reject. These are Best Buy sold variants to Blaster Master Zero and Blaster Master Zero II on PS4. The originals do not have entries here on VG Collect (as far as I can tell) so I just created

https://www.vgcollect.com/item/197439 for Blaster Master Zero (PS4)
https://www.vgcollect.com/item/197438 for Blaster Master Zero II (PS4)

These two new entries are the Limited Run Games direct versions that do not have the little banner stating "includes all playable DLC characters".

Thanks

Two versions of Switch The Mummy Demastered. Both deserve a description in the title like all other LRG releases available direct and BB. Editing existing one rejected. Suggest fixing.

Need photo proof that 182876 has text "Lovely Edition" on the packaging. I found one picture of that version but it was front picture only and that text isn't present.

I have updated the entry to use a descriptor, and put Lovely Edition into alt-name and description.

Unreleased (but official) is only to be used for prototypes and things that were manufactured but never released officially. For official product entries that are announced but not yet released, use Official Release (Upcoming)

Ok, so the release was wrong, but you fixed it. :)

Regarding Lovely Edition, does the publisher's own description not suffice https://www.iam8bit.com/products/untitled-goose-game-lovely-edition-playstation-4 ?
