I wasn't aware of this and googled some pics, I've never seen PS1 boxes like this! Is this a US only thing? They look like PAL Saturn cases.

My big(ish) purchase came in today; a red 1977 Nintendo Color TV-Game 15! It also came with the manual, AC adapter and RF hook up.
I'm going to order a transformer before trying anything. In the mean time I need to rearrange the Nintenshelf to make some room for it.

Sorry to change the subject but what would be your ideal price range for the game, argyle?

I think he's referring to the Dreamcast CODE:Veronica Limited Edition console, which I've seen rise up to $1000 on eBay.

They can prevent the disc from booting or make your game crash on a specific section of the game. They can also make your console having a hard time to stream content like music or textures, causing FPS drop in bad cases. I have only witnessed this on 5th generation consoles though when I found used discs in bad shape.

It's been a while I was looking for a NTSC-J Dreamcast console.. For my birthday my wife got me this stunning piece of collection, I was speechless!!

I had this awesome game Bakumatsuroman Dai Ni Maku Gekka No Kenshi but didn't have the console yet, I could finally try it out, what a blast!

I found a Dreamcast Arcade Stick online, should recieve it soon so I can play the game properly, time to collect more JP DC games!

I think Shenmue deserves a credit for mixing together a cinematic experience with combat arcade gameplay, persistent open world and for starting the active QTE fashion - not the best thing in the world but in that game that was pretty well made

The N64 controller was pretty cool at the time with its analog stick but for many games having the D-pad in a separate area wasn't very clever, and I remember it hurting my hands when playing Forsaken or Turok intensively. The C-buttons were often used like a stick and it feels weird to play with it again nowadays... Oh and the analog needed frequent maintenance, which was not so great.

The best controller in the world.

IMO the Dual Shock 4 is so good it became my favorite recently but the NGC controller is indeed fantastic.

I fancy my new Smash Bros version with its ugraded Z-button, I use it whenever I can:

The feeling I have playing those games on my 30' Trinitron CRT with the original hardware is the main reason I'm collecting, no emulators for me!

After my latest quite expensive addition I calmed down a bit and grabbed a few games on my Wii wishlist that I could score for cheap prices since the Wii is like the only "retro" console for which I collect games from my own region (PAL).
