General / Re: overrated & underrated games
« on: January 06, 2014, 04:17:11 am »
blipcs76 you are awesome! Journey to Silius is one of my favorite games of all time and I agree MK is incredibly overrated especially compared to other fighters at the time...
So i'll make my picks different
Underrated-Duke Nukem Forever... Yes I said it, I enjoyed it. It definitely has it's flaws, the physics puzzles are lame, the difficulty spikes, the graphics, and some of the jokes are lame as well, all that aside though, I did enjoy it, I mean I beat the game because I wanted to, and I had fun with it.
Overrated-Marvel VS Capcom 3, AWFUL, too button-masher friendly, the second one was like that as well but it at least required some skill for competitive play. It seems like Capcom just "dumbed down" the MVC series with each iteration, the first one was a six-button fighter with like 20 fighters but was decently balanced, the second one went to a four button layout with a huge roster and not balanced at all, but the third one is again a four button fighter with one button acting as basically the "I'll beat the game for you" mode... Terrible

Oh man, I love anything SNK/Neo geo, so for the pocket color, it does have a lot of amazing 2d fighters but there are some pretty good RPG's and puzzle games as well, SNK vs Capcom: Card fighters is a pokemon style game, not too sure if you'll like it if you don't know a lot of Capcom and SNK fighting game characters but still cool games, crush roller is a fun puzzle ,arcade classic game, Bust-a-move is fun. From what I've heard Beast Busters is an awesome RPG as well as both Dive Alert games, and pretty much all the SNK sports games are cool... Pocket Tennis, Neo Turf Masters and Baseball Stars Color. If you do plan on getting one, definitely get some of the fighting games as well, Samurai Shodown, Fatal Fury, The Last Blade, SNK vs Capcom... And I cant forget the two AMAZING Metal Slug games, absolutely fantastic arcade run n gun games

I just consider them farming simulators with a really cute aesthetic, not really open world, but you can do basically whatever you want. I didn't really like the one on wii. of the newer ones I'd recommend Wonderful life, Magical Melody and another wonderful life, basically the gamecube ones. The N64 and SNES versions are awesome too, not as complex, but still really fun but pricey as well and back to Nature is fun too

Doom 3 I actually prefer that version, Otogi, little dated but still fun, Jade Empire and Knights of the old republic, if you like mass effect, Both Oddworld games, Return to Castle Wolfenstein

So i just received a few of the games I ordered and unfortunately all of the cases have been damaged in transit... So i guess that makes my decision a little easier. I'm going to go disc only and make my own DVD cases and covers. I'm a little disappointed but I guess I'll save some money in the long run.

Another question while we're talking about the Saturn, people keep saying to go for imports... the only question I have about that is do the Japanese imports have english subtitles at all? I'm not a big fan of playing a game and not knowing whats going on.
Oh man! that sucks about the cases, I love how Saturn cases look but they were made of the worst plastic ever.
As for imports most of the best imports are Japanese Shoot 'em' ups and 2D fighting games, mostly in English

The t-shirt idea works but I would actually suggest is to take it all apart and clean it that way

That WOULD be super cool man, but I agree with soera, maybe rethink you're goal because not only would that be very hard but it would also get very boring too. I started by just collecting Nintendo games, and I did get boring after a while so I branched out into other systems Sega was first than playstation and so on

Check out Muramasa, Madworld, No More Heroes, A Boy and His Blob, Metroid Other M, Punch Out!!, Red Steel 2, The Kirby games, Warioware, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, I don't know if you're into fighters but Tatsunoko vs Capcom is a pretty good one, and Metroid Prime Trilogy although it is pretty pricey

Nice! if you're planning on getting a memory card get the action replay 4 in 1, because trust me you will want to import. Amazing console i'd also add three dirty dwarves, nights into dreams

You know, Im not really excited for this at all... Will I buy it? Of Course, anything with Zelda slapped on it I have to have, but Im not sure about this one. Maybe it's just because I don't like Dynasty Warriors at all, or maybe it's me. I would be interested to see some more stuff on it though

« on: December 17, 2013, 01:34:15 pm »
I don't believe the interact memory card allows you to play imports, also be careful with that card I have the exact same one and it worked alright but I've heard some bad stories about them... Mainly that they don't work, just make sure the cart and Saturn cartridge slot are clean
