When there were no 3D games:
I think the N64 would have sucked. The Saturn and Playstation would both be verry popular. Perhaps Sega would release a New handheld based on the 32X hardware. Also the mascot craze would lasted a lot longer. Also pollygons wouldn't be used and pixelated stuff would look more awesome then ever! Some developpers would continue producing NES games since there would be still a market for them and the gameboy color would include a back-lit screen.

Why would they, they could sell each game for 2-10 dollars on the virtual console.
I would love to see a best of commodore 64 or 'the hidden gems of the 3do'

Exactly.  They have so many more places to sell those games now, like phones & tablets.  The heyday of those was the PS2 generation before all the online stores, I think the Taito Legends 2 was probably the greatest.  What I would like is for Nintendo to do one of their old arcade games like Donkey Kong and Punch Out!, I don't know why it's so hard to get a great home version of Donkey Kong?

How about a disc with:
Donkey Kong (Arcade, Atari 2600, NES and Revisited version)
Donkey Kong JR (Arcade, NES and Revisited version)
Donkey Kong 3 (Arcade, NES and Revisited version)
Donkey Kong JR Math (Take it or leave it ;))
Donkey Kong 64 (Enhanced version)
The Donkey Kong Construction Set (Made Up)

Donkey Kong Library ^^

General / Re: So why do we care about instructions manuals anyway?

Because the old instruction manuels were a big source of game information, some of them have impressive art-work.
If i see manuels at a yardsale I pick them up, if i already have them, I give them to a friend to make their loose games more complete.
And ofcourse it makes you feel better when you know you bought the complete version of a game.

I want to be your friend. :)

Hahah

Did you know Microsofts first console was not the Xbox.
They helped develop the Dreamcast.

They actually didn't help at all other than giving Sega windows CE.

Sorry i meant that :o
Vectrex was the first console with a 3D option right?

Battlezone was on a lot of old systems, too.

No like the mastersystem 3d peripheral with glasses really revolutionary stuff was going on with the vectrex, after the vectrex 3D gaming took a big step backwards
The wanted to release games like Poleposition 3D.
