I haven't seen it in a while, but I remember as a kid I used to watch donkey kong vhs tapes all the time and I loved them.  Probably only good as a kid as I don't remember them anymore, but who knows they may be entertaining.

I really don't care either way.  It's a struggle to find any good deals on anything anymore because it is so popular so I don't think Gamestop will change this.  Resellers are resellers and as long as people online will pay top dollar they will always be running around picking up anything remotely good.  Just keep hunting for your treasures and if there is something you really want then buy it online and then resell it online so you got to play it for free.  It has gotten to the point where old games just mainly rotate between collectors with much less finding going on.

I didn't check all of this before I'm posting this so if it was discussed just ignore me.  But I often want to see if I have a game in my collection or see if I what I have in a series so a way to search just my collection nothing else would be cool.  Like type in .hack and all my .hack games would come up for my collection only without having to search the database for them and seeing if the *in collection pops up underneath it

It's crazy how much better these japanese game line ups look then what we usually get to see.  Walk into a gamestop and you get to see madden, fifa, call of duty, battlefield, and oh wow the millionth final fantasy :p

Went to a pawn shop before class today and they had just gotten tired of their video games sitting around since they were overpriced so all 360 and ps3 games were $3 and all psp were $2 so I picked up infamous 1 and 2, one of the king of fighters on 360, stoked, nothing too great here, but then came the psp games and I got star ocean second evolution, disgaea 2, fading shadows (New), test drive unlimited, and a couple others I cant remember.  Everything's complete for $27 pretty glad I stopped :)

When I was a kid, like 14, I worked as a skate guard at the local ice rink because hockey and figure skating aren't very popular so I was pretty much one of the only locals that could skate so they actually recruited me after one of my practices :) but anyway imagine having anywhere from 0-100 people that do not know how to ice skate trying to skate around each other where falling is common and there are practically razors on everyone's feet.  Yeah I saw my fair share of pretty messed up things.  Not as bad as any medical people obviously, but I've seen teeth through mouths and severely severed hands and fingers.  The worst one was a 5-6 year old girl was being pushed around by her mom (who also could barely skate) and the daughter fell and had the mother go across her hand it looked like it went about halfway through her hand and all the way across, but we did get an update that she was fine and just needed some stitches, no permanent damage.

General / What to do when you know you'll never play something
« on: April 01, 2015, 11:32:56 pm »
Well this happens from time to time I start a game and don't really like it or I buy a game with no real intention of playing it, but this last game I just played is horrible.  Its Brigade E5 on the pc and this game is basically unplayable.  The only problem on top of that?  Id be lucky to get a dollar for it selling it online.  So I'll never play it, can't sell it, so I'll most likely leave it on a shelf and never touch it again, but what do you do when a situation like this comes up.

Just finished Dragon Age Inquisition, AKA got to the credits, still plenty to do.  Probably finished with the game though because while I enjoyed it well enough, it just did not compare to the first dragon age.  Dragon age 2 was pretty awful, but I'll give the series its due because the first one was absolutely incredible, inquisition was pretty good and I would recommend it, and we'll pretend 2 never happened :)

Hold the z button while you turn on your gamecube.  End of story.  Xbox can suck it.

General / Re: What Qualifies as "Complete?"
« on: March 12, 2015, 12:44:16 pm »
The way I see it is this does not matter in the least.  Think about it logically.  Unless you personally bought the game with the case but no manual and completed it, you're the only one who will ever know.  If you buy a game anywhere, you have no proof it is the original.  Even if it had something unique about that certain game, if I get two copies of the same one complete, I take the best pieces of both to make the best copy.  There is no proof of anything you do to make a copy of a game better so don't over think it because unless you bought it brand new there is no way to know if those were all the originals.

Marketplace / Re: Looking for Morrowind: GOTY XBOX Manual and Map
« on: March 08, 2015, 04:51:09 pm »
What I always do because this happens to me a lot.  I buy a game that is either rare or that I just want, but it isn't in the condition I want it in or is missing something so I'll go ahead and sell it then use the money once it sells to buy a copy in the condition I want.  Not sure how you got the game but let's say you got a good deal on it at a flea market so $5 for it.  Sell the copy you have now for 20-25 then I bet you can find another one complete for the same price, if not only a couple dollars more so all in all it's like spending 7-10 for the one you want instead of 5.  Just one example but still can apply to however you got the game :)

Classic Video Games / This may be a stupid question but...
« on: March 07, 2015, 02:21:41 am »
Hey I was just going around ebay looking for some good deals I might come across and I was noticing a lot of foreign games, mostly japanese and I know a lot of you guys on here collect for them, but I was wondering something.  I don't really want to buy any of these games since I'll never play them and don't intend to learn another language, but do you think there will eventually be a way to have a system that plays them and automatically translates them to english.  Not like fan translation patches that you download or anything, but actual code in the system that is able to know what it says and do a rough translation.  Even if it comes out weird because it would have to be word for word is something like that possible and or something they will ever do?

I'm sorry to hear all of this is happening to you, but the best advice I can give you is you're gonna have to hustle and do everything to meet ends meet.  When you get home from work every day start entering sweepstakes whether its directly or by liking facebook pages what have you there are a decent amount, it may sound stupid but hey you win anything even a blender you sell that its food for a week.  Go through and answer surveys online about how you feel about different products and other things and you'll make a few dollars here and there.  Again it's all small, but in times of needs these things can help.  Also It sucks, but you could split up yourself and your family for a bit, you move in with your dad and brother while your wife and kids live with the grandparents and maybe switch if the little ones get on the grandparents nerves.  The worst part may be selling your collection, won't be the first, nor last time one of us needs to dump some if not all of it for real life.  The last thing I can think of if the online sweepstakes and surveys seem ineffective then any and all odd jobs you can pick up would be good.  Go on craigslist and you may find a farmer who wants help bailing hay or whatever and it won't pay much but something is better than nothing.  One last thing just came to mind that might be a little weird for some people, but I'm just trying to help in anyway I can think of, but you can try selling your sperm, blood, or bone marrow.  Now I'm not sure if this is real or whatever but I know I've seen them talk about it in movies and I'm not sure if it works or if it's real so don't get mad if that sounded stupid.  If I come up with anything else I'll post again because even if I can't help it's better than not trying.
