I understand that mate but your searching the database and not your currently owned games.
Be easier even if instead of pages 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 etc in your collection area it was actually alphabetical, so you could at least search by letter.

I joined due to retrocollect going down, retrocollect was much much easier to use then VGCollect, RC has better search options for the my collection area, so you could quick search a game rather than having to use VGCollects main search function and look through loads and loads of titles just to see if you have a game, its the only thing that annoys me here, I have put the idea forward to admins and on the forum and admins havent replied and forum took a dis-liking to the idea as most are collectors for many different systems whilst I collect solely for 1 , Playstation1. favours some on here and not others, If RC comes back online I will likley go back - If VGC adds a search function to your Game collection area I may stay, as I say its not a demand but a request if the answers no then that's the answer ill accept it.

In the UK, we have apps to shop online and have food delivered to your home. All the stores Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury's.. all are out of stock of a lot of stuff.
Half my order is always out of stock when I go to place my order.
Not just that, it is fully booked so far in the future, It's almost impossible to get a booking.

My worry is I will run out of food.
I have plenty of bottled water + Tap water.
I have enough medicine for probably 6 months.

I play DOTA2 [PC]
was playing World of Warcraft for the past 2 months but it's become a little stale lol.

Admin thanks for that reply, that has not only made me more confident but has explained this reasoning behind disc rot that people seem to throw around.
I know a few people who have used the term in the sense that a clean very good condition disc will end up getting disc rot holes.
Very handy to know / I was a Sega Megadrive PAL collector, so I never used to have this ever arise with carts.

Kind regards.

I understand,

I am from the UK and when searching for a game I see the same game name but with GER or FRA OR ITA, RetroCollect only had the basic PAL releases, and if you had it in a different language to English, you still add it as a PAL game if that makes sense.
There is however allot more items marked on this database for sure.
Consoles / demo discs / All variants [ unless not listed for some reason till someone submits ]

Maybe adding Language English/European version would solve that issue to each game then NA & Asia to American and Asian versions,
so people from every different country don't post loads of the same game in the database but with an added country code to it.

Saves time / saves space / less confusion.
I won't lie I was with RetroCollect for my Megadrive collecting I got 500/530 , now I am collecting PS1 PAL.
The website above ^ has been down for weeks , possibly months with them not posting any updates or letting anyone know anything.
I started PS1 collecting whilst they where offline, so I needed a place to stay, and found VGcollect.

Parts of the website are better, listings in the database seem allot better.
Things like Rarity from low to high etc I miss, this would be in missing games from your collection, you would get to see whats rare and what's missing.

It's all suggestions anyhow.

Kind regards.

Admin.

Would you be able to implement something where it tells a user that's collecting for a certain system, exactly what they are missing or what they have left to collect and how many in numbers is left for that system - without in search having all the collected games show up.
A bit like RetroCollect did.

I don't have any search option in my collection other than to scroll pages. - in order to see if I have a game , rather than searching it.
It does not tell me how many games are missing from the full set of the system I collect for [ Playstation 1]

It's all manual and it's not a complaint, I just think it would make peoples lives much easier in the long run, if under collection it had say 236/1240 games owned and showed the missing titles.

Kind regards.

I did read that disc rot, was a factor before I think it was 1993.
So all games before that date, and it was something to do solely with the manufacturing process and them not using the correct or enough of the chemicals needed for the discs.
People are right it is well over hyped,

someone shows a game disc with rot on a specific platform and everyone starts to panic.
I am learning more and more though as I go along and it definitely seems disc rot is top top end severe stage.

3DO /Saturn /Sega MegaCD.
These and others where before 1993 and a majority of the discs are still good.

A few posts here have certainly re assured me as to the direction I thought it was.

Hello guys.

I was wondering, does anyone know of anything that protects CDs longterm in their cases.
Silica Gel is used to remove moisture.
is there anything that protects CDs, something that can sit around the discs whilst in their cases to delay disc rot / and general wear of discs.
Anything anyone has seen or come across.

Its something I am looking into / Wondered if anyone else had seen anything, allot of people have CD bases games and a majority of newer will last almost forever, but it's for older disc bases games.

Thanks in advance.

Marketplace / Re: Looking For / Help Me Find Thread

Looking to buy PS1 games or PlayStation magazine demos / or various demo's released for the system.
If anyone can help me with cheap £1 shelf fillers that are complete and VC / Very Common.
I'll cover the delivery costs.
Condition Fair - Mint for shelf fillers / complete with all inlays / manual / disc.

I would consider bundles of mixed titles at higher prices.
Or in general higher valued games.
I'm just trying to get a few games together and get rid of a lot of the sports titles.
I am a collector, not a reseller, I never ever sell, Just collect and preserve.

Best wishes.
If you think you can help me out or if your a fellow PAL PS1 collector give me a shout.
