Site Feedback / iOS and Android are relevant.
« on: September 28, 2014, 03:26:55 pm »
I have done so much searching through this entire forum and found nothing referencing iOS and Android. Maybe in the midst of the search, I actually missed the singular thread that may have discussed this. It wasn't all that relevant to me in the past, but as some may have noticed lately, I have not been purchasing a lot of games lately. I am basically a broke ass gamer now. So I began searching online for what was available for free. Compared to 6 years ago, A LOT. Not anything weak either. Here is a small list of free games I have found so far and enjoyed.

Walking Dead Season 1 [ Android
Walking Dead Season 2 [ Android
Xion Episode 1 [ Android ] For those that enjoyed Myst.

For those that enjoy maze puzzle games:
Aerox [ iOS

If you liked Ballance http://www.allgame.com/game.php?id=52453
Try these out:
Balance 3D [ Android
Ball travel 3D [ Android
Ball Travel Zero [ Android

LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles [ Android
LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles 2 [ Android

Marathon [ iOS
Marathon: Durandal [ iOS
Marathon: Infinity [ iOS

Want to enjoy those classic FPS titles? One particular studio Went above and beyond to bring you that fun and added integrated corded game controller interface as well. The studio is Beloko games. The only snag is the core .wad file needs to be added from an existing game. Those can easily be chased down via Id own forum app called Doom idgames App. If you don't mind paying a little, The complete Doom 3 can be had on iOS exclusively.

Perhaps this is in the wrong forum section... perhaps not. i just feel a strong case has to be made, because... well... I would like the option of being able to archive these additions along with my other titles. If your looking for sheer numbers to justify the relevancy of these two platforms, then take a look at these lists and see for yourself:

iOS https://itunes.apple.com/us/genre/ios-games/id6014?mt=8&letter=W
Android https://play.google.com/store/apps/category/GAME

Its not a myth and don't believe the gossip. iOS and Android are seriously competitive portable gaming platforms. They are relevant and should finally get their own category on here under those exact two names. It is time to take notice of them as successful game platforms. Even a specialized game console was created to enjoy these games the same way gamers enjoy any other console game: OUYA.

I noticed a few people speak about a thread for this one, most of the voices came via personal messages, most of the people over all just simply curious. does this really exist, does it really work and is it really free? The answer to all these questions is yes.

Welcome to Xlink Kai EVO VII. Simply put, its software that installs on you Windows PC or Intel Mac and tells it to behave just like a video game console server, using the Lan Link option imbedded in all online capable console games out there. Again this service is free and when you sign up, kindly take the time to fill out the game list. That way other registered users know what you got and thus organize online game sessions a lot faster that way. Now I leave the floor to the rest of you and here are two stater links to get your feet wet.

Cheers

My apologies for my recent and obvious absence. From the looks of things, it probably was a good time, considering the big changes VGcollect itself has experienced. Been doing a little bit of everything:

Took on a new roomate
Got the second car running again
Got my PowerBook G4 operational
Found two disgarded operating Dell computers
Digging out and testing all my old PC titles on above computers
Finalizing the finished concept on Project Cerberus
Officially addicted to and killing many many hours on SSX

Once all this gets wrapped up, maybe I can get back to getting those Euro and Jap entries in the wish list. As well as the PC titles... which will likely make my "In Collection" status jump another 200+ entries. I am also online a lot less these days, simply because the internet is becoming increasingly boring with too many repeat entries on stuff I already know *LOL*

Cheers,

General / European Game titles
« on: May 23, 2013, 11:29:51 pm »
Not sure if this thread already exists, but after searching the database for the titles alone, I get the feeling it doesn't. This thread is going to be multipurpose.

The first one being a dumping ground for truly reliable resources that can be found online that give complete information about published European exclusive titles. There are a lot of them, as the partial entries in my want list suggests, and that is only a fraction of my complete want list for European exclusives. The games exist and thus published magazine review data and artwork exists. Its absolutely ridiculous the digital hoops I had to jump through on my side of the pond just to get complete data on Atlantis: The Lost Tales and Atlantis III: The New World. It should not be this hard. I do apologize for the noticeable variance in the front and back artwork for Atlantis: The Lost Tales. I'm usually a lot more thorough and consistent.

The second function will be an update on my personal contribution to make the European exclusive entries in my want list more complete. Since nobody else online thinks these beloved homeland titles aren't even worth noticing. Granted US versions were made, but published to PC exclusively. Some of us have the means to appreciate the console versions and want exactly that. So lets start this off properly. The entries entered thus far:

Atlantis: The Lost Tales - Playstation 1 [ EU ]
Atlantis III: The New World - Playstation 2 [ EU ]

P.S. I'm currently working on Atlantis II and have already exhausted AllGame, IGN, Gamespot, GameFAQ, MobyGames, Amazon and Google. Thus my motivation for creating this thread and get this entry completed.

OK, so people are pretty impressed with what I have for video games and having nearly 1500 is pretty good. The status of massive however goes to a guy named Andrew, who many in the "know" is like THE video game collecting god. Behold and worship.

Off Topic / I laughed so hard I cried...Human Ignorance

I am starting this thread for those of us who have needed serious comic relief and then right at the moment something happens... or we find something. That special something that is just overwhelming in its humorous power and sends us into a fit of laughter so hard we actually cry. Shall we begin?

BEHOLD my discovery tonight:

Anyone aware this place exists? Its images are quite hard to avoid when you Google entries you have made yourself, when needing pictures of decent quality. Right, to the point.

I want to know how many (if any of you) are also registered through this new archive site named Cover Galaxy. That way I know just how much work I am in for, with updating their library and filling in the gaps, with my own contribution of HiRes scans out of my sealed box of jackets and booklets. They already have a decent size selection and is further facilitated by user entries made in the online forum itself. So don't get bummed out when first seeing the limited platform listing when visiting the main page. I personally am stoked this place exists and think they show the same potential as VGcollect itself does. Here is hoping you both stick around. It would be a tremendous help to massive collectors like myself to finally digitize and backup... well... everything.

Oh where are my manners. Here is how you get there. Cheers.
