Off Topic / Re: So how do you think the Angry Birds Movie will do?
« on: May 19, 2016, 12:05:26 pm »
It will defenitely do better than the Ratchet + Clank movie in box offices; still waiting to see how the World of Warcraft and Assassin's Creed movies turn out.

Did Ratchet & Clank FLOP?
$10.5 million worldwide, and a 16% on Rotten Tomatoes. It's pretty bad.

Damn.

It's a shame :( I thought it was a pretty good movie

Its because you know you can't escape. It's infinite. Infinite warfare that is.

If the NX isn't a replacement for the Wii U and 3DS....did Nintendo just decide not to make any more Wii U and 3DS games???  Because they sure as hell aren't putting much out.

They said the same with the 3DS.

I currently have an elgato HD (not HD60) for the sake of my older consoles.

My bf is looking into us maybe getting a new capture card:
http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-broadcaster/razer-ripsaw

Supposed to run older and newer consoles with near-zero latency. Haven't tried it myself, so I can't attest to it, I'm afraid.

Another way to get pass the lag is to look into internal capture cards, but that's another bit of research I haven't done much of personally.

Internal?

Just wondering if you are trying to capture older or newer consoles...?

Both

In case you guys haven't heard the latest reports of MS' douchebaggery, supposedly there were several big-name publishers lined up to buy Lionhead but MS refused to let go of the Fable IP, so they all passed.

http://gameranx.com/updates/id/52509/article/buyers-were-lined-up-to-prevent-closure-of-lionhead-studios-sources-say/

I don't see....

How keeping their own IP is them being douchebags. I mean Fable 1-3 The Journey are MS games, and of course re-releasing them would be hard without owning the IP, plus they may revive it with a different studio/

If the only thing guys wanted form Lionhead out of buying them was Fable and not Black and White or anything, then I think the douches are actually the buyers.

According to the article I read, there's no longer anything to download unless you have your own user generated stuff on the servers.  They ceased further downloads once the announcement was made about the shutdown but were offering refunds to those who had purchased the software.

This is just one more reason why I don't support Microsoft.  They have a long, proven track record of unceremoniously cancelling games, services and support abruptly.  Not to mention shoddy hardware.  I guess they are putting all their eggs in the proverbial basket with Halo, Forza and Gears.  But at this point just like Call of Duty or Assassin's Creed, these series are feeling severe franchise fatigue and sales have dropped more and more with each new release.  Forza has turned into a complete cash-grab of DLC car packs and season passes, going so far as to put less cars in the newer games than before so they can charge for them!  As for Gears, I don't think a new game was necessary.  The story had a definitive end with 3.  That should have been it.  But now we have a "new" enemy that isn't the Locust....but just so happens to look exactly like the Locust.   ::)

Is Microsoft even actively involved in any other 1st or 2nd party titles?  Aren't the rest of their exclusives 3rd party paid titles?  Oh wait...they have a Rare game that may get canned before it's even released.

Nah.

MS has put more effort in their games this gen, theres only like 5 total Gears/Halo/Forza games currently, and Sonys has done similar closures.

I think the real problem is that they usually don't give out reasons why they close studios and kind of move on leaving people to speculate what happened which sometimes makes people angry. Other usually don't do this. For example, Fable Legends is dead, why We know they closed down the studio for a reason but we were not even given a vague hint as to why that may be.

They have been doing it that way for years, at least give us something.

I'm looking for some good game recording hardware (or just general television recording hardware), I have a few projects I am working on and I need a good cpature card without much if any lag, and able to record at a solid minimum at 60fps and 1080p Now the only ones I've seen that do this (and more) are around $300 and I really am not doing that much with it so that would be a kind of crazy investment.

Wondering if anybody had any ideas on this?

I don't why this whole thing is such a big controversy for the gaming community. It's not like you HAVE to buy it. If a PS4K or XBox 1.5 come out, you'll still get the regular versions of PS4 and XBox One games coming out.

Those that own a 4K TV can get it, and they get some fantastic looking games. Those that aren't rushing out to get a 4K TV can stick with their normal PS4s and XBox Ones. And everyone still gets to play the same games.

I think it's a great idea!

You're forgetting the part where devs and tolls will focus on the new versions. I think people keep overlooking this. I don't think people will be happy running Uncharted 5 at 10fps with pop-in and low res textures.

I feel as if they are forcing it on people, especially since they also announced how it would be better on 1090 televisions as well. Kind of like MS forcing Windows 10 upgrades recently/

I think the PS4k is ludicrous personally, but as long as games released still run on the old PS4 systems, I haven't got much of a problem with it. From what I hear, some software will be "enhanced" on the PS4k but I don't think it will have its own library of games like the New Nintendo 3DS does.
I think Nintendo realized that Xenoblade Chronicles 3D didn't sell well and I don't believe any other games are New 3ds only.
You've got the SNES virtual console titles as well as The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, but that's not enough to sway me into buying the hardware.

The SNES titles are exclusive to New 3DS?

I have to wonder this...This is completely unwarranted and mostly just a nagging thought in the back of my head...but I have to wonder if they have some secret plans.  I still think missing E3 essentially is not a great idea, but I wonder if before E3, we'll get a Direct talking about all their games coming up this year.  They have to do it soon I think because they got some games they can push such as Tokyo Mirage along with Mario & Sonic Rio in just June alone.  That way they get their games out there ahead of time and being talked about before E3.  Then they can do their E3 plans of all Zelda which will be great, even if no Digital Event is happening.

Still feel like they'll do a surprise tease of the NX at some point next month.  Not a full reveal, I'm guessing they are waiting for an event during the summer or I guess Tokyo Game Show, but like a name and a silhouette of the system could work if they do the before E3 Direct.

That might be just me hoping they aren't being so oblivious to their faults right now.  They have their problems, but they are kinda having more than a few setbacks lately.  Star Fox isn't doing well and they disappointed a lot of people by scaling back what they do at E3, when E3 is usually when Nintendo is at their best now.

Wait I thought they actually have a E3 conference this time?
