General / Re: Round 3: What is your fondest gaming memory of all?
« on: January 26, 2015, 08:32:16 pm »
That should be the Christmas of 1992, my mom gave me as a gift the cartridge of Mega Man 5 for the Nes and that was one of the best moments in my gaming life, why ?, cause at those moments my dad wasn't with us so my mom had to work cleaning houses, selling food and doing all her best to maintain us, at that time the game was expensive keep in mind if was released in the same month, even with that she managed to bought me a complete copy, was so excited when she allowed me to open my present before midnight but the best part is that I was able to finish it before the next morning, her expression was epic when I told her that the game was completed but even after this she still continue to giving me games as presents, for example she gave me the Mega Man 5 for the Game Boy, the Street Fighter IV and the last one the Marvel vs Capcom 3 cause she knows I loved Capcom when I was a kiddo, gotta love my mom  ;)

Classic Video Games / Re: Retro game replacement labels

Please Do NOT buy replacement labels that do not have any markings they are reproductions. Even though you have no plans on selling a game now, in the future this will piss someone off once they find out it's fake. Also YOU might tell that buyer its fake, don't mean he will do the same.
I understand your felling but in my particular case just want to have the most indentical label as possible, wont gonna make the same mistake that I did when I was younger, am talking about selling my gems  :'(

Toki surprised me.  That was a pretty fun game.  It's not real hard, so I didn't get too frustrated.
Actually it's pure fun, my little five years girl is playing this one with me, if it were a two player mode my wife definetely will be playing this one she enjoy the Bubble Booble and the Snow Bros  ;D

For me was the SNES Jr it took me a pain in the ass to purchase this one cause my parents never wanted to see me playing in front of the TV the whole day so every damn cent was obtained with a lot of sacrifice and work but damn I did enjoyed the only three games that at moment I owned, the rest were rented games, so many good memories are just coming back  :'(

After a couple of payments cause situation right now is kinda hard yesterday I was able to finally receive my cartridge of Toki, t's a damn shame that Golgoth Studios canceled the project for a HD version of this game so decided to add the NES game into my collection, it's in pretty good shape almost like new  ;D

So I have decided to start picking up crappy looking copies of higher end games (if they're cheap enough) and slapping on replacement labels.  I've been using an online vendor and his work is pretty flawless so far.  Not point on, but close enough.  They're for personal use and I was wondering what kind of experience everyone else has had.
Just wondering if those repro that you purchased had the Reproduction Label printed too ?, am trying to find a good seller that can manage to sell them to me but with out that line, need them for some NES titles  ;D

- NES, why ?, My old and reliable has been with me almost all my life, this mothafucka is even more hardcore than today's consoles, it was created not only for fun purposes also to continue giving us a lot of entertainment with our kids, not all consoles can say that they will do this also a lot of their games still kicks my ass several times about the 20 list gotta think it twice and will post it later  ???

As a collector let me said that your uncle just gave you the best gift that you can receive, about the cartridge it probably only need some cleaning, at this point of my life haven't seen a NES cartridge that doesn't work anyway welcome to the forum is nice to see youngest people that like retro games ;D

How long did you use that badboy for? After reading some forums online it's got me paranoid.
More than eight years, the mothafucka still plays burned and original games without any problem but as dashv said the less you use it the longer it will works, what it doesn't work anymore is the battery but is not the big deal since only have to put again the DC's date every time that am going to play  :P
