General / Re: What Are You 2013 Game Collecting Goals
« on: April 01, 2013, 01:51:24 am »
My 2013 gaming goal is to
REACH 500 items in my collection before my 1 year anniversary of joining this site, which is December 27. :)
It seems ambitious but hey can't kill me.

BONUS! I would very much like to obtain an NES 2, I don't think it will happen this year but hey, if it happens yay :)

General / Easter Egg Hunting in the Garage
« on: April 01, 2013, 12:07:10 am »
So happy Easter everyone! :D
(yes I know I'm kinda late :p)
So over the weekend I went garage sailing to look though strangers garbage in hope that I find some elusive treasure. :D
Usually Everytime time I go sailing, I only return home with a worn Game Boy Advance game and some clothes (which aren't compatable with any system I own :p)
So I was about to give up when I went to one last garage sale, AND I FOUND A TREASURE CHEST! XD
I found a Genesis 3, Super Punch Out, Super Mario All-Stars, Super Mario RPG, and an SNES 2!!!!!!
Now you think this cost me a fortune but all of this only set me back TEN DOLLARS!! XD

This is my first real Garage Sale score and I felt like sharing with you guys, it's moments like these that make me love collecting video games. :)

So have any of you found an awesome treasure in a garage sale? :)

Hello,  I don't think we need a social networking kind of thing with people posting pictures of their cats and stuff.  It would be nice to be able to bookmark certain people to access their collections more easily.  The compare feature is nice but then you have to remember everyone's name.  Reminds me of Nintendo freind codes.  :D
There we go! That's what I was talking about. :)

I remember the head shavings! Its stuff like that I miss. Jake laying the python on people. The mist from Kahmala. It was pure entertainment. I may have to go download some old wrestling shows.
Miss the really bad characters like IRS and The Mountie :D

I never thought about downloading them I just keep rewatching my Wrestlemania collection ;D

Oh man, I'd completely forgotten about IRS...

What I really miss are these:

Hehe IRS. :)

AND ICE CREAM BARS!! :O
Man I really missed out. :/

Heh I grew up during the time where Hulk Hogan beat the Iron Sheik for the title and became the most famous wrestler. Junkyard Dog, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Koko B Ware, Andre the Giant, Jake the Snake, Million Dollar Man, Nickolai Volkov, Superfly Jimmy Snuka, Ultimate Warrior, 4 Horsemen, the Von Erichs, etc. Wrestling used to be awesome ... now its just a joke mostly. :(

Wow, you're lucky, I heard those guys were awesome. I envy you man, your wrestling is so much better. :)
True it's mostly a joke now, I watch it from time to time, but I just can't get into it. :/

Heh nice MK pic ... and a bit off topic but is that the Big Boss Man in your avatar? If so, thats epic.

I'm glad someone actually noticed!!! Yes, that is the Big Boss Man. :)

I miss the time of the WWF (Screw the WWE, it will forever be the WWF) when it had people like this. You would get ready for a 2 hour show and watch 2 hours of wrestling. Stuff like Saturday nights main event and what not. Now, its 2 hour show with 30 minutes of wrestling and 90 minutes of bullshit drama and overly fake crap. All the fake junk is what caused me to start watching UFC over it.

Hehe, I was barely around for most of the WWF, but I was born in time for the Attitude Era. :)
Yes I agree with you WWF forever!! :D

I actually looked at a lot of stuff from the WWF and it looks SO much better then the WWE stuff I watched, and you are totally right about the drama pumped WWE, it sucks, almost no "real" wrestling.

Well thank you for knowing who the Big Boss Man is, that made my day. :)

I could see a simple list working. But we've really wanted to try to keep away from a lot of social networking things and focus mainly on being the best video game database we can be. Of course, in the end it's all Matt's call anyway.

Well okay, I see where you're coming from. Thanks for at least looking at this. :)

Site Feedback / Friendship Is Here!!
« on: January 16, 2013, 04:23:26 pm »
Hello everyone! Me and my buddy joined this site recently and I noticed that there was no "Friend" option on this site. Now that does not change my opinion of the site because I just think this place is awesome! :D

But i would think it would be cool if their was a friend option to make it easier to keep track of our collections and see whose is better! Because right now the only way to check out her collection is to click a link in an email she sent me. It would also be nice to just keep track of people I know on this site and maybe it would be easier to keep track of anyone i happen to meet on this site.

Anyone else think this is a good idea? :)

Classic Video Games / Re: Are retro games harder than current-gen?
« on: January 16, 2013, 04:10:04 pm »
Definitely, as mentioned before, this was done on purpose to extend the play time of older games. Because unlike now where 20+ hour games is a normal thing, back then they had to do SOMETHING to make people drop $50 on a new game. SO they made them hard to keep you playing it again and again and again and again and again and again and again AND AGAIN!! (Course some games were just good ;)
