Personally, I think a bubble-mailer is fine. If it's still damaged after that, it's definitely the post office's fault, not the mailer's. A Game & Watch is a nice flat shape, it's not awkwardly shaped or anything. Not to sound rude, but to me that sounds like a collector being a bit too nitpicky.
I mean I've seen horror stories with shipping. I already mentioned the piece of printing paper wrapped around one game. I've also had games shipped to me in a normal letter envelope. I even had a Sega Genesis game shipped to me in it's own game case, they just turned the artwork around and wrote the addresses on that. Those types of things are bad shipping.
Ya know we got those first world problems.
Indeed!
Like being able to cancel & back out of deals, commitments, agreements, etc; right?
Hmmm, sounds bad right here.
Meh; not necessarily "bad" (hence just making a comment instead of starting off a new user feedback thread for someone w/ a negative post) -but- moreso inconvenient, inconsiderate, and, IMO, in bad taste.
In a nutshell:
My 1st deal with Greg (Argyle) = he did his research, read my feedback here over the years, and (more than likely) talked to other long-time members about dealing with me ==> then, (as the "new guy" aka unknown quantity) offered to send to me 1st; which to me, makes sense & is just plain old "Netiquette" & the way things have always been done.
Then - Warmsignal (as a very new member to our community) requested that I set aside one of my Witch & the 100 Knight LE's...almost a month ago(?).
We even talked & agreed upon a price.
Then, yesterday, he seemed surprised that I wasn't going to just send it off to him in the mail -and- that (since he was so new) that I had the 'audacity' to actualy expect him to pay up front.
Lastly, "being surprised at the way I do business"...he just went & got it somewhere else
Not the end of the world since I have other interested buyers + (like I said) - I'll give the benefit of the doubt by not "marking/making" his "Permanent Record" (read: User Feedback thread) here start off on such a bad note -but- I *did* feel it worthy & deserving of a comment to the other regulars here who will be reading this to keep in mind...
Lunar - DS (cart only) - $4. Forgot the full title of this one, but AFAIK there's only one Lunar for the DS. Got it because it was Lunar & super cheap.
Today I got Steel Harbinger (PS1) in the mail.
I remember my best-friend bought that when it was brand-new. We really wanted to like it, because we didn't have many games on PS1, being that it was the new expensive system then. But I remember it being terrible.
Today I got Steel Harbinger (PS1) in the mail. Seemed like a pretty cool hidden gem of sorts. Yesterday, I picked up Deception IV.
As badly as I want Deception IV, I really want the first three on the PS1. I went on Ebay last night, and they have all gone up in price recently. Hopefully once the novelty of the fourth game wares off I'll be able to grab the first three for a better price.
Your local post office must suck. I've only had games get crushed in transit twice in ten years.
I second this.
With games that come in standard jewel cases (PS1 and Dreamcast) I have never had a game get crushed inside of a bubble mailer. Saturn games and other hard plastic longbox games are another story. I have always received and sent these in boxes with proper insulation. If you breath on a Sega CD case the wrong way it shatters lol

No. The ones without cases just go without and I dust my shelves.
Unless they're NES, Game Boy/GBC, or Game Gear games. I can usually find a stash of old dust sleeves/plastic cases for cheap on those at the local used movie shop in town, or in an auction on eBay.
That's not a bad idea, though. I just imagine it looking kind of ugly on shelves with a bunch of plastic bags covering them.
Well, the official statement I read just said that it requires "original packaging", so manuals a probably not what they're checking for. Not a problem anymore because they don't make them, but in the past it would have caused me headache to ask about seeing a game and then have to turn it away because of no manual. I've got a new outlook from 8th gen forward - no manual, no problem.
Around my area (where there's no such thing as a locally owned game store) nothing beats a GS staffed by good people. The one I frequent, the guys know me & know I'm particular about my games. I found a complete Silent Hill: Shattered Memories for the Wii the other day and was very excited because I had been looking for it and no one in town had had it until now. But when the guy pulled the disk, he goes "uh-oh" and holds the printed side towards me to show me something. At first I didn't see anything, and I told him so, then he tilted the disk slightly - in the black part of the label someone had written a number with a black marker. I was sad that the game was a no-go, but that was a lot better than having someone just slap it in an envelope and leaving me to find out about it at home & have to return it.
What I'm saying is, while I do trade in some at BB because they often have higher values and my credit goes farther there with my GCU 20% off, I prefer to do business at GS because the people know me and are knowledgeable about games. I have even shopping at Wal-Mart, so I can't imagine I'll ever try to trade anything in there unless they have some kind of insane deal for doing so.
