Bravely Default Friends?

I searched for a thread, but didn't find one. I also know this game is three years old, but I am just finally getting around to playing it due to my 70 hour work weeks, two young kids, and the million other things happening in life.

Anyone willing to friend up on 3DS to pass me some Bravely Default assistance?

what are the friend capabilities with this game? i still haven't played my copy

You can summon friends in battle and gain affinity with them as you summon. You can also use each other's learned abilities as long as you have the correct job learned for that character. Nothing that is groundbreakingingly amazing, but I would love to try out the feature in the game if anyone is willing to share.
