Correction

https://vgcollect.com/item/20275 "Torchlight" (pc)

I added the wrong item number to this page in error.

After further research, the Item number is: 15980-BOX

eBay - Torchlight Small Box release, Barcode and Item Number pictures
https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Torchlight-RPG-Windows-PC-2010-Encore-Runic-Computer-Game-DvD-Disc/284065166613
*The barcode in the ebay pictures matches the VGC item page, to further substantiate the aforementioned Item Number.

Question

https://vgcollect.com/item/20275 "Torchlight" (pc)

I have a rejected title edit: "Torchlight (Small box)"

The ADVANCED Style Guide says this:
Quote
Item Name
An item name can consist of multiple parts. The type of item determines which parts are used.
Physical Games: GameTitle (descriptor) - Edition [TLD]
Quote
Descriptors
Descriptors are used to differentiate similar releases where the result would be two items with the same name in a category.
DO NOT use generic descriptors such as "variant" or "alternate"

I realized my physical copy is an alternate release that came in a DVD box, not a PC Small Box ... with different back cover also.
As such, I created a new VGC item for that to differentiate it:
https://vgcollect.com/item/188341 "Torchlight (DVD box)"

I thought this was a proper use of the descriptor, so I applied that as a title change to 20275 VGC item page, but it was rejected.

Does that mean that the VGC item I added for my physical copy (188341) also has an incorrect descriptor usage in the Game Title ?
*If so, can you instruct me how you want it done in the future?

Thank you for reading!

Question

I have a rejected title edit: "Torchlight (Small box)"

Only for formatting reasons, descriptor should only have proper term if text is present. So it was a reject only because you put Small but would have been approved if you put small. That upper case S was the only reason.

For your other item, DVD box may not be good if the "small box" version also has a DVD.

Back cover and disc image rejected.

Current back image is for a ' not to be sold separately' version.
Replacement cover had correct barcode.

Why was this change rejected?

The entry you edited is correct, as it pertains to a variant release of the game in question; the title should be edited to reflect this. The proper course of action in your case would be to make an entry for the retail version.

I don't think the entry was inspected, just rejected from the queue for trying to change the back art from a NFR to retail cover. Otherwise, it would have been noticed it was a franken entry, since there was a barcode on the entry as well. It worked out in the end, but it is annoying because an entry like this could go either way.

My edit to add the front cover to Shantae and the Seven Sirens on PS4 was rejected for "watermark"

https://vgcollect.com/item/178754

The image I sent was a photo taken of my own personal copy so I can guarantee there is no watermark on the photo. The back cover art I submitted was accepted. Image link: https://imgur.com/uUNOwL2

My edit to fix the cart art on Super Mario 3D All-Stars on the Switch was also rejected for "incorrect formatting"

https://vgcollect.com/item/185467

The cart on the current listing is incorrect. The item number on the cart image does not match up to the item number on the box (ANB3S vs. AVP3A), and the current image has the wrong ESRB rating (E10+), when it should be E. It appears there is an E10+ rated version of this game out there, but this is the E rated version so the cart should be updated to match the box art and the item numbers.

For 178754, the art that showed up as being uploaded was an LRG stock photo (watermark)
For 185467, the cart picture was sideways (incorrect formatting)

Removed cart art on 185467

I don't have any watermarked photos of this game on my computer at all so I have no possible idea how it came out like that, but I will resubmit edits. Same thing with a sideways image but I redid that one just to be sure.

It is possible that it was someone else who tried to put an image with LRG watermark on it and a different admin had rejected your image. I try to remember in short term memory when posting in this thread. The queue tool doesn't have a history so if someone doesn't remember, it doesn't really help in replying. That is why when you make a post here, especially for an art rejection, that you link to the image you tried to put rather than just saying it was rejected and not show what it was. In addition, that means that other admins could potentially answer the question even if they didn't work on the queue, or other members for that matter.

Be aware that while there are only 3 DB Admin users, there are still a couple legacy users that work through the queue, as well as any of the red Admins.

Curious as to why these three titles are classified as Xbox 360 titles and not original Xbox

In addition to enhanced graphics, each of these three games also slightly changes depending on which console is being used. So, essentially, two versions of each game are on one disc. However, the games were marketed as Xbox 360 games that an Xbox could also play—not backwards compatibility. This would be my argument for the games' current categorization, anyway.

I recall this being brought up by someone once and there being a discussion about it. I think what dhaabi said was more or less what was agreed on.

I dunno, maybe I'm misremembering...
