One note about the description you put, when you use something like "additional item number" on its own, you should be putting where that item number is. Is it on the front, back or spine?

That was my mistake in a later edit. I forgot to type out the item number's location.

Hi,

I recently went through some of the UK Piggyback strategy guides as there were a few which weren't listed.

I noticed the guide for Final Fantasy XII was listed wrong and went to change it and since it has been edited our of proportion!

It's now just listed as Final Fantasy XII... which makes it sound like a game...

https://vgcollect.com/item/39356

I have found details on the official Piggyback website which states it as the Collector's Edition version of the guide. So I have been trying to name it as

Final Fantasy XII The Complete Official Guide - Collector's Edition

Yet for some reason the mod/editor but the other details further down in the listing instead...

I'll leave a link to the website which displays details on the guide below:

I recently went through some of the UK Piggyback strategy guides as there were a few which weren't listed.

When looking at any item that is entered into the database, it's important to inspect just how the item is labeled and not how it was marketed as online. From the images I found of the guide book online, the item is non-descript aside from the front cover text "Final Fantasy XII," with zero indication that the item is "The Complete Official Guide" or of its being a "Collector's Edition." I've just updated all the Final Fantasy XII entries within the Strategy Guide category. There are now three entries which could be named "Final Fantasy XII," so I've updated the other two entries to include a descriptor in their entry name titles.

Recently, there was a relevant thread regarding how items categorized as Strategy Guide should be analyzed to determine its corresponding entry's Item Name, which I would encourage you to read, as every new entry you created yesterday had Item Names with an incorrect title format. You were relying on the use of hyphens when instead the colon is correct. Hyphens are reserved for signifying an item's edition. Over the years, style guide rules have changed, meaning many entries have incorrect Item Names and other information. Do not rely on previously created entries to determine how a new entry should be formatted; instead, consult the style guide.

Also, I will note that your edits for 105125 and 105126 were rejected because you are attempting to convert the entries into something they were not intended to represent. I haven't been able to determine either of the items' proper names given the low resolution of the images, but I can tell that the item names are not in English, as the images you presented were. Feel free to create new entries for these items.

Additionally, this particular guide is using a photo that is apparently missing the dust jacket. The dust jacket has more information, presuming this is the correct item:

If this is the same as this Piggyback book you are posting about, the front image should be replaced and then the item can be named:
Final Fantasy XII: The Complete Guide - Limited Edition

ID'ed and fixed titles for those two. They are the ones from Spain.

I just had time to get the guide out and see that yes it is indeed Limited Edition - Unlike the website :P

I also took photos of the guides front and back too for the listing.
So are we settled with the name for the listing being:
Final Fantasy XII: The Complete Guide - Limited Edition   ?

I will make a separate listing for the KH guide - the image was so small I didn't notice the language difference.

Colud the developer "h.a.n.d. Inc." renamed to just "h.a.n.d."?

Despite the logo not having the Inc. part in it, three references do:
https://www.hand.co.jp/ (in the page footer)
https://www.mobygames.com/company/hand-inc
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/company/78226-hand-inc

It doesn't matter to me, and I personally feel that business type designations should not be used unless required, however I do not think there is any directive on name formatting for Developers or Publishers. So not really sure whether we would change it because "it looks better" vs information accuracy. Not that I believe there would be some huge outcry from the community by changing this one name... LMK what you think.

I'm of the same mind that business type designations should not be used. I've never been a fan of business type designations is mainly because no one ever says in a conversation "Hey, did you play that new game from Square Enix Co. Ltd?" or something similar.

Plus, personally I don't think this site in particular is very interested in the business side of these corporations, at least as far as database entries are concerned. If it is, it really shouldn't be.

I think because that Mobygames has it in their name, we are better off matching their name and keeping it like it is for now.

Please remove the "Comes with 4 pin badges" in the description of https://www.vgcollect.com/item/190282.

That listing is for the standard edition which does not come with any pins. Only the Day One Edition has them.
