Xbox 360 / Xbox One Cross-platform games
« on: February 22, 2021, 08:39:18 pm »
In what category should these games be listed under? I'm talking about games that have the Xbox One box type but with both Xbox One and Xbox 360 logos on it. In this instance, what is priorised? Should we list it under Xbox 360 since these games originally came out on 360, or should it be Xbox One since they have the XBONE box type and are playable on that console as well? Or a brand new category?

The Advanced Style Guide touches on this sort of scenario. For Xbox 360/Xbox One co-branded games, the items are to be categorized as Xbox One titles.

The early ones came out in 360 cases, with the 360/XB1 logo. Those XB1 games as well?

Oh wow I'm dumb. I actually read the Advanced Style Guide before making this thread and didn't notice the part about co-branding. Next time I'll try to be careful when reading the style guides. Thanks all, and sorry for making this useless thread.

I hate to necro such an old topic, but don't see any other way to ask this:

Today I bought a new copy of https://vgcollect.com/item/67217, with the same UPC, but it comes in the XB1 style box (Front, back, disc). Based on the rules, it goes on the 360 (NA) category, but don't know what to add to make it distinct from the original entry.

There's no issue in coming back to an old topic.

Generally, I format pairs of items like these with descriptors such as (Xbox 360) and (Xbox One / Xbox 360).
