PS4 - Tekken 7: Definitive Edition (RANT)
I used to be a really big fan of the series but have grown less fond of the series as it goes on. I've wanted to jump into the game again but the 1-4 Season Passes have put me off for years. They did release a 'Legendary' Edition which was the base game on disc with a code for some, not all of the characters... So that put me of further. Well today I got a £5 voucher and the Defintive Edition was on sale for £10.44... With the lack of any Complete Edition on the horizon I thought I may as well. I was over it within an hour. I tinkered with a few of the new fighters but without any decent Modes to play on there isn't a way to really enjoy the experience. Also, even installed on the PS5 SSD loading between each fighter takes too long and the resolution looks really poor - Tekken 6/Tag T2 load quicker on Xbox One X (And have better modes).

While Tekken was never realistic, it's far to over the top now & I can't stand the focus on juggling within the combat. I bought the game at launch & enjoyed the story mode but beyond that the game had NOTHING to offer. It's an easy Platinum & has a week Arcade Mode which has the base characters fight 2-3 boughts and it is over. It didn't even have the basics like Team Battle Mode or Survival Mode. I've tried to like this package but it really is very shallow. Even all the new fighters lack any context. There is no Story clip to introduce them. the best you get is the Reveal trailer - Which isn't part of the actual game. The Noctics one looked cool and simulated the FFXV battle prompts and made it look like his story section would be like that - No, there is nothing!

I know the business model for Tekken isn't like it was last gen. It's all about keeping the momentum up for EVO tournaments but I find Tekken 7 to be the most lackluster experience of the series. The 4-5 Hour Story Mode is decent, but 4 Season Passes later there is little to go back to. I won't be investing in Tekken 8 until many years down the line as I've given up on  the series at this point.

Oceanhorn bundle

Thanks Limited Run for never emailing me that this shipped, or giving me a tracking number in any way.

I decided to go all out on Zelda Tears of the Kingdom for the kids. Reason being is since each kiddo has played Breath of the Wild, or any other Zelda for that matter, they've enjoyed the games immensely. Occasionally, I'd do a treasure chest hunt for something like a new game or movie that they've been wanting outside of Christmas or Birthdays. Hadn't done one in a while, but decided to do something special for Zelda.

So, inside our treasure chest is going to be the game, but with it will be some resin rupees of different colors and a heart container necklace for each of my daughters. For my son, he gets a couple Zelda figures I found (Link and Zelda BotW). Once everything is in, I'm going to set it up nice and create a clue hunt for them to eventually find the chest.

Setting this up will delay me getting to play the new game for a bit, but it'll be worth it.

Congrats! I still love my Game Gear. I recommend grabbing one of the custom USB power cords for Game Gear:

I'm more glad that it has the AC Adaptor, which turns out to be a Genesis 2 adapter and not the Game Gear one. He says the system doesn't work, which is fine because my Majesco Game Gear I bought in the 90s works fine, and I also have the adapters for the Retron 5.

And to add to this in addition, my order for Suruga-ya came in the mail today, so I can add these as well
PS2
Star Ocean Till the End of Time

PS3
Rorona no Atelier: Arland no Renkinjutsushi

Those PS2 and PS3 games were less than 300 yen each BTW and they have no shortage of cheap PS2 and PS3 games on their site.

Xbox 360
Microsoft Wired Keyboard 600 - Monster Hunter Frontier
Mad Catz Tournament Edition Fightstick Pro Street Fighter X Tekken (USB)

The fightstick was a wash comparatively if I take into consideration the shipping cost from Japan. The stick with the shipping it comes out to about what a comparable US one on US ebay with free shipping would be. Also the keyboard is interesting as inside it is just the regular PC USB keyboard... BUT for whatever reason it is very cheap as far as Japanese USB keyboards go, probably because it is in the Xbox 360 category. There it is 320 yen, vs 1000+ for the same thing in the PC section. So if you need a Japanese USB keyboard for cheap, keep an eye out for these. It is missing the game charms or whatever those things are, but I just wanted a Japanese keyboard.

The Zelda OLED Switch I ordered directly from Nintendo came in today. Just transfering my saves over now! I was very hesitant to get a new Switch with it being on its way out but my original one was on its last legs, and there's still a number of games I urgently want to play.

Slowly stacking up more PC Engine games:

Image Fight
The NewZealand Story
Rabio Lepus Special
Solider Blade

I also scored a NTSC-J copy of Raiden Project for PSX and Gigawing for the Sega Dreamcast.

With the laser on my PC Engine Turbo Duo-R giving up the ghost I've put more of an emphasis on HuCard games. Plan to sell and replace it with a PI-TG001 model. I won't need a CD drive or interface unit to play CD games once I get my hands on a Turbo Everdrive Pro. Castlemania finally reached out to me regarding my gscart switches; they'll be shipped within the coming weeks. Ebay has been my main source for games, but with the recent discovery of buyee.jp that might change. If I decide to buy anything off there I'll make a note of it for next month.
