Future VGConnect Games/Interest
« on: June 23, 2013, 05:53:50 pm »
I actually had a lot of fun for the June game. I think Earthworm Jim was a little short which is both good and bad. Anyways, I learned a lot about the history and beat a game that would have sadly stayed in my backlog for way longer than it should have. If other people are up for it, we could make a list of games and the top 6 could last us through the year. Doing one game a month until 2014. This would also give people time to find games. If anyone is interested we can start the game voting process. I would nominate the following:

Psychonauts
Phantasy Star
Doom
Shadowrun
Skies of Arcadia
Trouble Shooter

If interested vote for any game you see or nominate your own!

Vote Count As of Justin's Psychonauts vote on page 2

I own Phantasy Star and Psychonauts, so I'd be down for that whenever those get played!

I enjoyed Earthworm Jim, but couldn't beat the robot chicken in level 5. So I'm game for another one. I'll toss out the suggestions I said last month and also say is be down for Pyschonauts, Doom or Phantasy Star.

My suggestions:

NES
Batman
Bionic Commando
Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse
Destiny of an Emperor
Faxanadu
Metal Gear
Now Playing: Persona 5 Scramble, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Mario Kart 8

Hrmm this shows my attention span at times is pretty off. What is this? A month of playing a certain game? I missed it somehow. I will try to pay more attention this time! Out of the games listed, I would definitely be interested in the following :

Phantasy star (I was actually going to start this soon anyhow but this would give me a bonus reason to play it now)
Destiny of an emperor - if anyone likes RPGs, you should give this game a run. Its really unique and pretty fun
Bionic commando - Ive beaten this game as much as almost every game Ive ever played. Its super fun and awesome
Metal gear - the first one will always be my favorite.

I hope Phantasy star is picked honestly. :)

Yeah, we started a racket boy-esque together retro. Last month a lot of us played the first Earthworm Jim. I'll tally the votes and keep a running total soon. Just keep nominating and voting for games. Each time one is mentioned, that's a vote. You just can't vote more than once for a game.

Picking them ahead of time sounds like a good idea.

The 6 I'll be voting for are, in no particular order.:
1.Psychonauts
2.Conker's Bad Fur Day
3.EarthBound
4.Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
5.StarTropics
6.Zombies Ate My Neighbors

I think games that appear on multiple platforms helps too, like say:

Resident Evil
Aladdin
Chrono Trigger
Castlevania SoTN
Bomberman
Grandia

Although, it's likely most people have played these because they are on multiple systems... just a thought I guess

Oh man, that'd be a good excuse to replay one of my favorite games... StarTropics, that is :P
I think I'll vote for that, it's a fantastic game that a lot of people are unaware of.

If my in-head math is right, does that put Startropics in the lead so far?
