Picked up my Secret Santa's gifts today. It felt REALLY strange buying games for a system I don't even own; almost like I did something wrong.

Guess I should've asked this earlier... but how do people feel about getting a used game as a gift? I mean, I guess since some of the items on the wish list might be for older systems, I guess it'd be okay?

NO!

Yeah it has to be considered. If someone is expecting new games for most systems with a $20-30 limit, they are going to be disappointed.

A lot of people will be asking for games for older systems, I wouldn't try to get anything new since it would cost a lot.

I think what matters is that the item is in good shape, not so much that it's new.

Personally, I put older stuff, as well as new stuff that is available at retail in that price range, so that whoever got my list wouldn't have to work so hard.

Old is okay for me. But I already specified in my personal wishlist I sent that condition isn't a huge deal to me as long as the game works and the label (in a cartridge's case) is intact.

I don't really care. though I do prefer CD/more modern games complete, other than that cartridge only is great

yeah, I figured as much, yay :)

I'm the same way; I put stuff on my wishlist old and new that was about $20-30 or less.  I also tried to specify that I'm totally ok with used items as long as they were complete (box, artwork, manual, game).

Cool, just wanted to double-check in case someone opened up their package and felt cheated or something.

I only want new, sealed games. And I expect nothing less than Earthbound.
Obviously, I'm kidding. Cartridge only is great with me, but if it's a disc I'd like a box at the very least.
But, it's Christmas. Give with the attitude that you're expecting nothing in return.

double-post.

i should add, to whomever my ss is, that my wishlist is up to date as well in case they have any trouble with my list.  not sure if it's any better, but at least it gives some options...?
