I had seen the new systems, but not all these details! Thanks! The card slot at the bottom puzzles me, but I guess that might be because of space issues.

I also wonder if the ZL/ZR buttons and the CPU addition will make a difference. On one side, developers can add more to a game thanks to these. But on the other side, if they do, the majority of 3DS owners will not be able to play this game without buying a completely new system since the majority will own an older model.

It was stated that developers can take advantage of the faster CPU. There's going to be a port of the Wii Xenoblade game that can't run on a standard 3DS/2DS; that requires the faster CPU.

Why are they still making the standard size 3DS?  ???

I'm surprised too, since it seemed like they had stopped making them ever since the XL's launch! I'm not one to complain though, it's more portable.

I prefer the standard size 3DS. The most portable variation.

Meh, slightly more portable but greatly less usable.  I wouldn't think of getting anything other than an XL, but I suppose enough people must feel differently that they still make them.

Some people don't like that the resolution is inflated on the XL & prefer the sharper look of the original.

This is a very odd choice given that the 3DS XL revision was already a hit on the install base and the 2DS which didn't sell that well, made things a bit worse. In fact, I thought the point of that was moving away from 3D, but now they have a 3DS with better specs, More buttons, and exclusive games?

I think some people may just wait for the real next handheld by Nintendo.

I'm very happy with my 2DS, so I won't be looking to upgrade.  Some nice new additions though.

See the above is what I was talking about.  The install base will split in 4 ways.

The new 3DS XL are getting limited edition releases, while the New 3DS are getting custom design. I dont think the custom plates can convince me enough to go get the smaller one first.

Smash 4 & Monster Hunter 4 bundle edition of the New 3DS XL. Wow, I'm totally going to import the Smash 4 3DS. ::) ::) ::)

I prefer the normal size 3DS and DS systems to their larger brothers. I am glad that they are seemingly incorporating the circle pad pro to the system though. But I'm not a fan of the cart slot being in the bottom. I can see a lot of accidental cart ejections happening with it there.

Yeah I'm worried about too because I've had too many times where I accidently ejected the cart by hitting against the wall while playing. Putting the cart slot in the front makes it too easy to bump with other objects/yourself and screw up your session. I might get the new model at some point in the future, but I don't really see it as a necessary upgrade right now.
