A truly great pioneer in the industry. Home consoles might not be here without him. It wasn't as simple as, "Someone else would have done it if he didn't". I read that the he shopped around the Magnavox Odyssey for years to different companies, only to be rejected over and over again because no one took the idea seriously. IIRC here, I believe I read he started shopping it around in 1968, but it didn't get released by Magnovox until 1972.

R.I.P. Mr. Baer.

He was a great dude and helped kickstart the idea of gaming consoles in a person's home and helped the industry get to the point where it is today, so thanks to him. RIP

The Grandfather of video games is gone, bless his soul for with out him Video Games would not be where they are today.
Thank you Ralph Baer for making the first video game console. With out you Nintendo would still be just a playing card company, Sony would only make TV's and other electronics and Atari would have never saw your invention, create Pong and go on to make the Atari 2600 and then my own Grandfather wouldn't have bought me my first gaming console.

Thank you for the memories Ralph, for every game I play came from your invention.

RIP Ralph Baer. You were a pioneer and my favourite thing ever could well not have existed were it not for you.
Kinda sickening to think what big companies are doing to consoles these days, monopolising on Baer's invention :(

Very sad news indeed. But he lived a long happy life and lived long enough to see the 8th generation of consoles.
RIP Ralph Baer and thanks for everything. :(
