Due to, well, life, I've been slogging my way through Ace Attorney 4-5-6 on Switch since March. It's a love-hate thing, but 80 hrs in I have yet to hit the "bonus" case for the last game.

I'm still on my 3rd. playthrough of Final Fantasy IV, in my attempt to finish Final Fantasy Anthology (PS1):

Due to wifey working lateshifts I buttered about 12hrs of playtime into it this weekend - after 24hrs total I already got the hovercraft-carrying-hook attached to the freshly upgraded Enterprise, now my almost final team is on it's way to Eblan to enter the Underworld once again via Eblan Cave. Battles got kinda hard for I didn't really level up characters until Cecil became a Paladin - I actually wanna finish this game with every char on lvl 100, though I don't want to start the real grinding until I got the final team together ... which should be soon  8)

I actually can't wait to beat this game (once again) and Start Final Fantasy V on the same collection ... this should take me years to accomplish w 100% ...  ::)

So many games, so little time  ;D ...

Played a couple demo's, starting with Spirit of the Samurai, a 2D hack and slash game, where one of the hooks is that it has the visuals similar to stop motion, but I'm gonna be honest, I don't think it does lol I think some of the big looking monsters might have that vibe, but it otherwise it's just kind of a bland game with 3D models that sorta has the vibe of like digitized sprites like Mortal Kombat, but without the charm of what those old visuals were like.  I kinda stopped right away as visually it's kinda ugly, there's this filter or something that doesn't work for me and the combat is kinda stiff.  Could be something once you get into the game, but I was kinda turned off right away as it wasn't what I expected.

Something a little better was the demo for Crow Country.  It's basically Resident Evil, but with the chibi styled models of FF7, and a decent control scheme. No tank controls, abit more of an isometric angle, no fixed camera, with a gameplay execution similar to RE4 where you hold your ground and can aim.  Combat is okay, I didn't like how tanky the enemies were, they eat up the ammo like crazy and shooting them in the head didn't seem to matter at all.  I may check this one out eventually as I think it's pretty decent.

More demo's! Kinda fun to check some stuff out like this.

I'm always interested to see something new in the survival genre, Project: Mist having kind of some cool visual stuff with the promo, possibly dimensional horror I guess, but the game itself, at least the tutorial stuff isn't on the level of like a real demo and more "tech demo", which is a much earlier state, just kind of an ugly game with weird design choices, didn't get far out of the initial tutorial stuff to be like "Oh, this isn't even close to being done".

And dabbled in one other survival demo, Permafrost, this ones abit better put together, sorta seems like if The Long Dark was more of your more standard survival/crafting game, having to worry about the cold and such.  I didn't play long, the camera was weird and I think it needs some control work, but this has potential I think down the road.

Thinking that since I played Alan Wake 2, it got me really wanting that Control sequel, so I'm gonna go and play some Control, see if I still really love that game.

Satisfactory lives up to its name, this game is incredibly satisfying to play.  I'm not normally into the factory, big scale, crafting games, I think there's stuff like Factorio and they don't feel like games I'd like, but this takes that idea and then just works into a very easy to manage package, abit of an adventure along the crafting experience.  It starts out simple, then you need more smelters and constructors, and then before you know it, you are surrounded by a web of confusing machines and conveyors and struggling to get power sorted out for it all.  By that point, you'll remember you have foundations now, better power options, so you decide to rebuild, break most everything down, and build it back up in organized sections, all to better automate things to be able to craft better machines or get better upgrades, it's multiple levels of satisfaction here lol  I got crazy absorbed for hours, I haven't been this into a "crafting/building" game in a very long time.

Tales of Zestiria drop.

It's slow, they throw a thousand pieces of information at you, the camera sucks, gameplay is not great (partly because of the camera and that it's always the same combos)
Ruins and empty plains to explore, ugly game

Nice OST, the fusion is good but too cheaty

Since CoD is on Game Pass now I don't have to pay for these 70 dollar releases anymore (Well, haven't paid for any CoD since at least 2019), I figured I'd pop into Black Ops 6 for the hell of it.  Needed something a little more fast paced and chaotic after being absorbed in the construction madness of Satisfactory over the past week lol

I played the open beta and was kinda turned off by the movement system, but that was a mixture of parts of the new movement and what was generally an awful map I played like twice.  I haven't been into small scale COD multiplayer since like old Modern Warfare/Black Ops era, and I wish this had a bigger mode like Ground War, but it's been kinda fun.  Some of these maps are tiny and awful though.  That train map sucks, there's this temple one that is so small, you can spawn in on grenades that were thrown before you died.  It reminds me of maps like Shipment and such which are the worst.

The movement system is mixed.  I ain't a youngin' anymore, so my reaction time isn't as great and I'm not really utilizing the dives and such, but I do generally like the overall movement feel, faster backwards movement, it's got this nice feel most of the time and you don't have to participate in the sweaty diving nonsense to do okay.  One thing that is nice after trying to pop into Warzone recently, is that I like playing this game fresh out of the package, there's not a 100 weapons and dozens of gadgets, perks, etc, that I have no idea what they are, it's all very straightforward, and everyone is also learning this game so while I have come across some sweats, it's a normal amount.  I don't feel super overwhelmed like I was trying to get back into Warzone.

I'll get to the campaign soon too.

Wellp. I started Metaphor. I suspect this will be the last RPG I platinum this year since it requires two play throughs and is a massive game.

I've paused my 3rd playthrough of Final Fantasy IV to play some short Game Gear games:

Started off w. Sonic The Hedgehog Triple Trouble which I beat at 1st try, making this the easiest Sonic release I played so far  ;D

I also managed to beat my old highscore of about 80.000 pts in Aerial Assault with now over 200.000 pts - almost beat the game but died off in the 3rd Mission soon as I was hit and lost all powerups.
Actually, though you're give a certain amount of lifes and continues, this game is actually sudden death all the time, bc as soon as you get hit once and lose all your powerups, the rest of your lifes get scratched off you in a blink.

And I managed to progress in Ax Battler: A Legend of Golden Axe a little further than in my last attempt to finish it. Now I kinda break my teeth on Spooky Cave. This game got really hard really quick!  ???

I wish you all the best of success at your current gaming projects!  8)

Monster Hunter Wilds open beta is out for everyone now and man...just give me the game already lol I can already see myself getting absorbed into this like I did Monster Hunter World.  Rise didn't really do it for me, but Wilds is everything I wanted.  Love that gear isn't gender specific anymore so you can mix and match designs, lots of real solid customization to your character, and gonna have to try and break a few learned habits from World due to the new control options.  Keep accidentally calling my Seikret, or pulling out my secondary weapon while riding lol

After moving on from Satisfactory, needed something more actiony, so got into Dying Light 2 now that I have a PC that can play it.  I liked the first one a good bit, that game had one long life of support.

This one I know had a real rough time for awhile, performance issues, not great content, they had to do a lot of overhauling from what I understand.  It seems fine right now, I'm okay with the game, though I'm getting a little annoyed with a few things.  There's a bit of clunk to interactions, like there's always this slight delay when grabbing things, don't know if this was in DL1 also, but for a game about parkour, it's not as smooth as it could be and I kinda hate some of the power attacks, because you can't tell unless it's a big wind up strike, as you can't block those, you have to dodge...It's like a lot of little small things kinda annoying, though kinda curious if enough improvements to Parkour will happen once I get more upgrades because there really needs to be a slide and such.

Might grab a few mods to kinda smooth out the experience perhaps, but we'll see.

Dropped Black Ops 6, the tiny maps and obnoxious speed and movement of the game just kinda wore me down.  Dabbled in Zombies and the campaign, which seemed fine, but lost interest.  I had some nostalgia for that style of small scale action, but there's a reason I don't play these sort of games anymore lol

Decided I'd give Modern Warfare 3 (2023) a shot for the Ground War mode and man it's so much better lol I know that game in general had issues with its campaign design and such, but it's slightly slower feeling movement, Ground War means the maps are bigger, more players, less insta death, it's far more enjoyable and it seems to be decently active even with Black Ops 6 out.  Might stick with this for abit.  I was considering getting back into Warzone too, but that's getting the BO6 movement soon and I would just rather not.  Maybe it won't be so bad on a larger map, who knows...I just wish there was a new Battlefield game or other new shooter to play lol

Uncharted 4 Thief's End and it's boring.
10 minutes of gameplay for 20 minutes of cutscenes.
The gunfight is soft and shit, you don't feel anything, 80% climbing during most levels.

You can't even run, the game just has its graphics and nothing else.
